# With furries invading Schaumburg next month, we wanted to know more about what lurks in the fetish forest.

Furries

What? Dressing up like a stuffed animal to get it on makes this set warm in its fuzzy parts. Though not all animal-obsessed furries are into the scene for sex, some folks wear full-suit costumes with strategic holes—so that woodpeckers can peck, for instance.

Why? “There is something innocent and very approachable about furry creatures—maybe it’s a regression to my childhood love for the Ewoks,” says local furry and rocker Andrea Jablonski of Rabid Rabbit. “Because you’re in character in an adorable fur costume, you can be as dirty and hilarious as you want.”

Okay, where? There’s a Chicago Meet-Up group in the works (meetup.chicago.com); in the meantime, visit the Lake Area Furry Friends site (lafflist.org). The Midwest FurFest 2007 convention is November 16 to 18 in Schaumburg (furfest.org); registration is open, volunteer opportunities are available and hotels are filling up.

Age play

What? Not everyone reaches for his favorite candy to revisit childhood. Participants of age play (also called infantilism) role-play either as an adult figure, like a parent, or as a child. Acts can range from wanting mommy/daddy to say you’ve been a good/bad boy/girl, to extremes like having your diaper changed.

Why? Like most fetishes, age play can be a safe way for people to act out fantasies that aren’t appropriate or feasible in real life, says local dominatrix Mistress Minax (mistressminax.com). It also allows them to return to a place where they feel safe and can address sexual uncertainty. “I have a self-made family, and it’s a way of [accepting] a sexual relationship with someone you also see as a maternal figure,” she says.

Okay, where? Minax specializes in age-play fetish professionally (i.e., no sex), and also recommends local dungeons the Continuum (thecontinuumchicago.com) and La Cage (lacagechicago.com).

Clowns

What? No, makeup isn’t just for chicks and trannies. And nose jobs—of the red-ball kind—are for big kids who want to play, too.

Why? “It’s really kind of taboo—clowns are supposed to be for children,” Minax says. “There’s also a love-hate relationship with clowns, which makes it easier to fetishize.”

Wish there was a DL group like the furry group but it could get real hairy if it was an AB group in public or a restaraunt - easier with diapers under clothes instead of pacifiers and poof dresses.

Dunno, but I was at Mid West Fur fest - was awesome Furries are by far the nicest bunch of peopel that can gather together in one area. Colour, age, sex AND species are all equal.

Its not often you can gather in safety with 1700 other strangers, eh?
