For the past year or so your twenty year old daughter has been struggling with depression. Can't keep down a job, doesn't shower or brush her teeth.

She has been retreating into her room. You her parent (open to others!) Are worried about her, and decide to make plans to her life.

She was the happiest when she was under your care, as a small child. And afterall who knows better than you?

A variation on this is that she's getting ready to go off to college, a bit delayed. You feel that she's not ready and hold her back
