KPAXOR1987
I'm curious how many others have designed their own safe space for sleeping out of a canopy bed frame ?. I have issues with sleepwalking falling out of bed, or getting out of bed before sleeping and made my own safety bed. It turned out almost to be a disaster because I live alone and was testing to check if I got it right and well got stuck in bed and fell asleep trying to get out ?. When I woke up I remembered I had my glasses next to me and used them to get the zipper where I could reach it ?. I had to make a small modification to make shure I could get out on my own when fully awake but not until fully awake. I'm not the most organized little or big, just wanted to show you my bed ? photos are 1 from laying upside down 2 laying on my pillow and 3 showing the nylon netting I used and size of the holes compaired to the tab part of. a Posey key 4 is a photo of the spare keys for the zipper which I definanty will not be able to to use just taunting me ? 1 Link to comment

KPAXOR1987
I should also mention I had a small yorkie who though she was human and I decided to try to make a cross between a crib and a dog cage for her because she was getting old and definantly was doing stuff that could hurt her. I did get it made but she was haveing alot of health issues and decided against useing it and decided to disassemble it but curosity got the better of me and I wanted to check my construction work and see how sturdy it was ?. So I knew I would be able to fit in the dimentions barely because it was built around a toddler bed mattress. long story short I should not have tried to check my craftsmanship I ended up locked inside a cross between a dog cage and a crib after trying every way I could to get out which included trying to kick the 1inch square steel wire mesh out of the wooden frame to destroy it, it didn't work and I ended up falling asleep after what must have looked like a toddler temper tantrum. After I woke up I managed to fit my hand threw a 1.5inch gap and found scissors and almost tossed them to the floor but realised it would work to push the latch down. I dismantled that thing 3 weeks later, and designed a rough version of the safe space in the photos about 5 months later later. The origional version of the netting was Grey Milspec nylon only I had sewn it way too small. The white one was done about 3-4 months ago and in the photos there is a rubber mat on the top to block light, what you can't see in the photo is on top of the rubber mat is the Mil-spec ranger green nylon mesh for the next version ?.
