Merchants Traveling The Four Nations

This is a story of two friends who you would never guess were not father and son. Born on the Earth Kingdom of the four nations. The date is 195 BG. The current Avatar is Kyoshi but this story is not about her and she probably won't be in it. Our two leads is the fatherly protective earth bender Jiang Xiao age 25 and his little sidekick and aspiring merchant, the 16 year old, unpotty trained, lava bending, Xiǎo Gǒu. They travel around town to town buying and selling to make a living

It was an average day, the sky was clear and the earth just felt right, being an earth bender, you learned to feel the earth as it was meant to be felt, as it was meant to be touched, but you could if you really needed to use the earth as a weapon or a distraction to get away from your enemies because if you weren't a water bender, earth bending, really didn't have that much effect, and if you were a fire-bender there was no way you would be able to defeat a water-bender in combat, air benders though were sometimes a nuisance and helped fire-benders spread destruction wherever their fire went, even though they never meant it.  

Jiang was one of those earth-benders, together with his son, Xiao, who at 16 years of life, had never once learned to even control his own bowels and liquid and this made it very problematic, but he also did love his son very much and was very protective of the boy, which is why he never let him out of his sight, not even for a moment. To combat the whole not controlling his bowels thing, the protective man had gotten a garment that could hold whatever Xiao put into it, though sometimes it was a real mess to get the boy cleaned and changed into a clean garment, it had its usefulness and therefore stayed, they used some of their money to buy more garments when they ran low, but for the most part they managed to stay in stock and that's what mattered most.

Not to mention  Xiao was a very rare type of earth bender. Lava bending took a very unique and destructive aspect of earth bending it was very dangerous and in some areas absolutely unheard of but it just came naturally to the infantile teen. Xiao when first looking at him you honestly couldn't tell he was actually very intelligent especially when you see him being so immature. That however, makes him a very good haggler and a very good merchant because people underestimate him or don't really see him as another merchant to compete with. He may have an innocent heart, a rare earth bending style, and uncontrollable bladder and bowels, but he is no fool.

As Jiang and his son traveled the far lands of the four nations, they eventually stopped in one of the local earth-nation towns which they frequented whenever they were back within the earth-nation territory and started the process of setting up shop, once their market was set up, they waited to see if any of the villagers would walk past and maybe try to buy something from them, they had almost run out of money when a fire-nation soldier tried to con them out of their money, but luckily Xiao had foiled the soldier and they had set off before the soldier had time to realize he had been tricked himself. They did hope they would never see that specific soldier again.

Not that it matters since fire nation has any jurisdiction here. The fire nation still has its own issues since it's a nation divided right now and besides this town prefers it's peace since that's good for business. This merchant hub in the mountainy northwest part of the Earth kingdom known as Yín Cūn is a place for nice peaceful trading where the only crime around is pickpocketing. Xiao looks around excitedly since they managed to get a lot of neat clothes from the Northern water tribes that would be rare in this kingdom. They are in the northern part of the nation and winter is coming so they should make a really good sale. Xiao squirms around with in his cold cloth diapers which are a bit wet right now "dada look i think a customer is coming this way"

"I do believe you are right my boy, why don't you get the clothes ready to show and I'll make the sale this time and then maybe later we can go and have some food." He told the boy as he watched the incoming customer and hoped they would stop at their booth, instead of one of the other merchants, some of these guys really got on his nerves sometimes, especially when they made fun of his son's immaturity, just because the boy acted immaturely, didn't give them the right to make fun of his son just because they were having a good laugh about it, because it wasn't funny at all, but he wished he could prove it to them, well he had, well rather his son had, but they didn't like to think that a 16-year-old could easily outmatch them, to them it seemed to be a matter of honor, rather than actual ability.

"Yes dada!" Xiao runs off to their bags and grabs a folded fur coat and brings it up and lays it out nicely. He gives a nice toothy smile. As dada talks to the customer. He knows he doesn't act his age but he acts how he feels he should act and his partner turned best friend turned daddy loves him like this. He sometimes gets upset about people teasing him but he doesn't really fight people about it. He is a better lava bender then he is a basic earth bender and if uses that on people it hurts them worse than he would like so he would rather run and cry to dada then fight and possibly kill people. Of course he will fight when he needs to.

He watched the customer come up and look at all the other merchants before coming to theirs and then just looking at the coat before nodding at the merchant and taking one of the coats off the rack and examining it and asking "How much for this?" Before she waited for an answer from the merchants since it was really nice and she really seemed to want it, hopefully they would make the sale.

Dada didn't seem to say anything so Xiao decided to step in the lady seemed to have great interest in the coat. He just needs to hype it up while giving a starting price. "100 silver pieces" that's  a good bit for one coat its actually only worth about half but if she disagrees with the starting price he will make himself seem generous by bringing it down.

"100 silver ey? Tell me young man, where did you get this coat and why is it 100 silver pieces?" She asked the young kid and guessed that the merchant was letting the lad take the lead on sales for a bit while he just observed. Clever man, maybe this boy could easily lure her into purchasing the coat, which he did agree was half of what they were selling it for, but some people were just desperate to get clothes for the winter season and would pay any price, even if it meant them not eating. While he was a businessman and needed to make a profit, he also wasn't heartless and he would give clothes away to those who really needed it as a kind man should, while his 'son' complained that they should be charging the people that he was giving the stuff away to at least a little bit so that they could have some money from what he was donating.

Xiao gave the lady a big smile and felt the coat gently and smoothly "ma'am this coat is freshly made from seal-bears straight from the north pole. It will keep you warm during the coldest of water tribe nights much less  northern earth kingdom winter. But you know what since winter is fast approaching how about i drop the price down we'll sell you two coats for a total of 125 silver coins."

'That's right, reel her in Xiao, make her not want to resist buying the item' Jiang thought as he just watched the boy, there was no denying his talent and skill, for that there was definitely an excellence that the boy showed in these fields, now if only the boy could apply that same excellence to other areas, but it wasn't that big a deal, in fact he liked to 'baby' his 'boy' because honestly it was as close to being a father as he was ever going to get and he wanted to do it right for both their sakes.

The woman took the drastically lowered price since she could get two for a much lower price each. They exchanged the items for the solver pieces he handed the money to his dada like a good boy and waited for more customers to show up. He enjoyed haggling and selling it was a really fun way to make money plus he gets to meet new people from all over. Other customers showed up to buy items and trinkets and stuff they got from their travels. Soon he scratched his crotch area meaning he was definitely due for a change he never tells daddy when he does which is why he gets diaper checks a lot

Once business had died down and there were no more customers and he had packed up the cart and moved it to where they would spend the night he went ahead and started to do what he needed to do with his son which was check his diaper and found that it was indeed wet and just set about the task of changing the boy and erecting a tent before he did so, so that the boy wouldn't offend others and he wouldn't be afraid of everyone watching him while he was being changed.

Once they set up camp in the area most of the other travelers were Xiao crawled into their tent and layed back and sucked his thumb waiting for daddy to change him so they can go out and hang out with the rest of the camping area or maybe they can go to the tavern tonight. Every day with dada is a new adventure and that made him love his dada even more and he just had the biggest sweetest smile he could have.

The man continued to change the boy until he was completely changed and clean before they set out for the tavern where they could purchase dinner and then eat before returning to their camp and sleep before having to be on the move in the morning as he never liked to stay in one place more than a day or so, due to his fear of being robbed by anyone, especially passing bandits who were looking for some quick cash grabs.

Walking around towns at night, even familiar towns, is scary for Xiao so he held daddy's hand in both of his as dada used his earth bending to zip us across town to the local tavern. It was always a fun ride. When they got inside it was the usual people there eating, drinking, inhaling incense, or a mix of all three. Xiao doesn't drink alcohol dada let him try a sip and it was so yucky dada had to feed him a cup of water to keep him from crying.

Once inside the tavern, Jiang went over and got the usual for them, he never got alcohol, not anymore at least, since he had let the boy try it once and it wasn't a pleasant experience, so instead he forced himself to stop drinking, which he did and then just switched to drinking milk or sweet juice squeezed from fruit such as an apple and mixed with sugar, which wasn't always easy to come by when you were a traveling merchant. Regardless he went to sit down with the boy and ate his own food while helping the boy eat and drink since the boy couldn't even take care of himself one bit, he had to do everything for the boy, but it was rewarding in the end because he got to see when this boy smiled and was happy, which helped when they were traveling for long days and nights to new places.

Dada always knew what Xiao liked  to eat he ordered it, cut it up into little pieces, made sure it was never too hot, and fed him and he ate every last piece and drank his drink which was of course held for him. He loved every second of it and leaned on dada tiredly as he waited for him to finish his food and pay. He looked around at all of the silly people. Some minding their own business, some getting into drunken squabbles, and some doing tricks with their bending abilities. Their was a musician in the corner playing music for tips.

Once Jiang he had finished the food, he cleaned the table and left the restaurant going back to the campsite and gets them both ready for bed before getting them both settled and drifts off to sleep. He sleeps until early morning as he usually does and goes down to the river to get them water for them to drink and distill so that it can be drunk. Once he has the water all boiled and ready to drink, he waits for it to cool down back to its original cold state and then puts it into a prepared cup and brings it to his son to drink.

Xiao wakes up as the sun gets a bit higher and sits up and waits for dada to come and get him he once wondered off without letting dada know and lets just say he never wandered again. He sat their and took the time to wake up feeling his cold diaper.he knew that their will be more then peepee in their soon and he knew dada hoped that he would do it before they got on the road so they wouldn't have to make a stop so soon plus changes are easier in the tent.

Jiang had left some water for the boy, for when he would wake up as by the time the water was cool enough to drink his son usually woke up anyways and he would greet him with his normal and do there normal morning routine and then get going to their next destination. Once he came back with food and had started frying it on the fire, he went to go and check on his son, greeting him as he usually did and then doing a diaper check before making sure there wasn't any more pee that was gonna come out of him and then started to change him into a new cloth diaper and would go check on the food once it was done.

He gave his dada a happy "good morning!" On sight and gave him a hug and drank the water he gave him adorably spilling it on his sleepy time clothes like he usually did. He was a little disappointed when he came out of the tent and saw dada already cooking because he wanted tonuse his lava bending to help. Then he smelled the yummy food and that disappointment went away leaving behind a rumbly tummy

Jiang soon finished up with the cooking of the food and had already begun cutting it up, by the time his son was outside and had sat down near him, he then started to feed the boy and once the boy was fed and watered he just let the boy follow him into the tent and started to change the boy into clean clothes before packing up and starting the journey to their next destination Xiao by his side as always.
