What is a blog carnival?

Basically, all participants submit a blog post - be it a gallery, an article, a story - on the specified topic; and they promote the carnival to get more readers and bloggers interested; then the host collates them all, publishes a list of submissions and a little blurb about each one, and readers enjoy! The carnival passes onto the next blog in a round robin fashion, and your blog gets thousands of hits and regular new users!
