I always wonder why anything is bleeped at all or cut out on networks that are cable only like USA. Since you are paying for cable why should it be censored? It isn't being broadcast over the air.

Hugs,

Freta

Many cable signals are actually broadcast from satellites to earth stations ;) but even then, the FCC has jurisdiction over land-only cable due to the "interstate commerce" clause in the US Constitution :( And actually they can't stop it- they can only prosecute it after it happens. Because that is expensive the broadcasters usually do the bleeping to keep them happy :screwy: For those who understand 6920 -6955 upper gets you interesting unbleeped stuff sometimes- the rest of you will just have to wonder what it's about :ninja:

New questions:

1: Just why is it that electronics have to accept potentially harmful interference, as per Part 15 of the FCC rules and regulations?

Only licensed transmissions and their reception are protected by law, everyone else just has to put up with whatever they get :)

2: And what happens if you were to shield such devices against interference, so that they were no longer compliant with Part 15?

3: Also, does one living in a trailer house with metal roof and siding count as shielding against interference, since the situation acts a bit like a Faraday cage?

1- Only licensed transmissions and their reception are protected by law, everyone else just has to put up with whatever they get :)

2- Part 15 only limits the power of undesired transmissions and dictates that it infers no protection against interference- so shielding your gizmo won't break the rules as long as it's not concentrating signals coming from it to illegal levels ;)

3- A trailer doesn't form a faraday cage at the higher frequencies which cause problems, grounded or not :o If you ground it well, cover the windows and bottom with a tight wire mesh or metal sealing all openings to the size of the mesh holes, then maybe....How you live in it is your problem :roflmao:

One that seems to have been left out of local educational systems and is often referenced, but never explained: What's with the "fresh" = "some degree of lewd or something" thing? It seems that multiple generations of us are in the dark about this...
