yea...that's tough. I've found diapers at thrift stores before, where only ONE was missing, and even then I was iffy about buying them. Something about someone else's dirty paws on my comfy diapers turns me off. I did however buy a pair once that was open like that, but what convinced me was there was some same exact sealed packages next to it. They were probably all donated at once.

The first (or second) time I bought diapers, I was with my boyfriend, and we actually were buying him some goodnights. I was still very new to this, it was about 3 years ago. I was so nervous. We joked around a bit, but didn't actually think the cashier would look at us funny or say anything. (It's easier buying goodnights than it is buying adult diapers, I've learned.) I shopped there a lot though, and saw it was a cashier who always talked to me, so I knew she might say something afterall. Then she did!!
