"Well Mommy's friend just welcomed a big baby girl like you and she's helping the baby get settled in.
We're going to pick up some stuff for them"
They pull into the superstore parking lot, and Daddy unstraps him, putting him into his stroller and then getting a cart when they head inside

"Mommy will be home soon.
We have something to do first before we get home. I'll explain in the car"
He takes Benny out to the car and straps him in before driving off

He hugs Benny back
"Hi, Buddy. Did you have a good day today?"

Daddy picks him up at daycare after the school day ends, which is highly unusual because Mommy usually does it since she's on the campus already.
He comes into the classroom to get him

Once he gets settled, Mommy tells him bye bye and leaves
-
"You did? That's great. I'd love to meet your friend" she tells him.
They clean Benny up after eating and get him ready to go. It's a nice day so Mommy decides to walk to school so she puts Benny in the stroller. Daddy leaves from home later in the car.
They start walking to school. Mommy takes him into his classroom.

The next morning Daddy comes to get him up like usual.
They go through the usual diaper change and Breakfast Express routine.
He brings him downstairs to Mommy for breakfast.
Mommy says: "Good morning, Benny.
It's a regular day.
We're taking you to daycare. I bet you're happy to see your little friends"
She gives him his plate and bottle

"I just thought we'd change it up. You used to walk to the park.
I didn't know you'd get so tired. I'll let you ride in the stroller next time"
She puts him in his crib and reads him a book. Daddy brings him a bedtime bottle

"I'm just getting you ready for bed. No bath tonight.
We really had fun at the park today, didn't we?"
She changes him into an overnight diaper, putting the clean daytime diaper aside.
She puts him on his green fuzzy pajamas

Janice leaves
Mommy carries Benny upstairs and puts him on the changing table so she can get him dressed for bed.

Janice gets her bag:
"Well, I should get going soon.
Bye Benny"
She waves bye to him
"Aww, aren't you a cutie sucking your thumb?"

"I'm glad" Mommy tries not to chuckle
Mommy she's that she's about to put the new diaper on and she says: "use the powder. He likes that"
So Janice powders him and tapes the new diaper on. Then she snaps his onesie and shorts back on.
"You were a very good boy, Benny." She picks him up and gives him to Mommy while she talks to her
"And his skin is in very good condition, Mommy. No rashes or sores, so that's good.
It's not part of the observation because he's so old, but it with everything I've seen today means you and your husband are doing a fine job taking care of him.
I'll put a note in that he's in diapers"
Janice tells her
Mommy is surprised: "Thank you. Yes, we change him often.
He likes his diapers. He's been here for a few months and he hasn't really asked about the potty since his first few days. He was having accidents and not wiping so well, and we just took over"

"Hi, Baby. Are you getting your diaper changed.
Are you being a good boy for Ms. Janice?" Mommy asks him
Janice tries the trick. She gets him all clean and takes the old diaper out

"Good choice, Sweetie. Let's go"
She gets a paci strap from her changing table, and carries the baby over to where Hannah's diaper bag is.
She puts the paci in her mouth and then clips it to the baby's dress so she can have it all the time.
She puts her back in the floor to play: the baby's big gadgets still out, and Benny playing with his trains in the corner.

She helps the baby sit up, then she asks her playfully:
"Is that rattle in your mouth? Are you trying to eat it? That's no fun.
How about a paci or a chewing toy instead?"
She knows the baby knows what a paci is

She quickly gets the baby girl clean and powdered. She tapes her into a new diaper.
This one is plain white, so she opts to put the bloomers back on

She straps the baby down to the table. She gives her a rattle to play with.
She gets her supplies together, then gets started, untaping the diaper and lifting up the baby woman's legs. She takes the time to warm up the wipes in her hand because the baby seems to respond better to it.
"I bet that tummy feels better now, huh? I'll have you cleaned up soon" she talks to her to keep her calm

"Thank you, Benny. She takes the wipes"
Megan finishes doing the dishes, and she comes in to check on Benny and Janice.
"How's it going in here?" She asks Janice
"Pretty good, I'm just getting started with the wipes. I've changed my nephew time or two, but I've never changed a baby this big" she says
"That's okay" Megan says. "For a mess like this, a friend taught me a tip for a mess like this, use the clean part of the front of the diaper to start wiping. Get the bulk of the mess off, then do a detailed clean with the wipes
Janice nods: "Thanks, I'll try it" and she tries it

Megan picks the baby up, seeing how overwhelmed Hannah is:
"I can take care of this one. Come on, Sweet Girl. Let's get you cleaned up"

"I'm going to get you all cleaned up"
She pulls down his shorts off and undoes the onesie snaps, revealing the wet and messy diaper.
She gives him the whole container of wipes to hold "Here you go, Sweetie"
She untapes the diaper. This will be a lot of work because he was sitting when he pooped. It's almost up to his front.
She lifts his legs and takes one wipe from the container, starting to get him clean as she's seen other people do
"You sure were a poopy boy. It must be nice to go whenever you have to go" she says

She carries him
"Gentle means I'll touch you soft. Like Mommy and Daddy do. Right?"
She puts him on the table sitting up while she gathers the supplies
"You help them? You're such a good boy, Benny. I might need your help actually"
She gets the supplies and tells him to lay down

"Since your Mommy and Daddy are busy right now, I could change you. If that's okay with them"
They are both washing dishes at the moment
Mommy: "I couldn't ask you to"
Janice: "Oh you didn't, but no need for him to sit here messy, right?
Plus he was such a good boy laying still for Daddy. He'd probably do the same for me right?"
Mommy: "Well okay. Just let us know if you need anything"
Janice picks Benny up from his high chair "I'm going to change your diaper, Benny. But I promise I'll be gentle"

She gets closer to him when he stops talking to her. Then she sees him grunting and smells the stink in the air.
"Benny, did you make a stinky in your diaper?"

"that was a very good choice" she tells him.
"You're a very good boy, Benny. I think I have all I need"
They all finish eating. Mommy collects the dishes.

Daddy decides to spend some fun time with Benny since Mommy will be home late, so he takes him out for ice cream.
They drive to the ice cream shop. He unstraps him and holds his hand while they walk in.
"What sounds more exciting, Buddy? chocolate or vanilla?"
