It's not bad. It's not as natural as UCSC, or as grand as UC Davis, but you can have a nice walk to class on a well maintained campus. There have been a couple violent crimes lately, but I don't think any more than a normal big city downtown.

The transmarch was awesome! I wore heels, but that turned into a bad idea really quickly.

Sorry for the CRAZY delay on this reply, but I go to SJ State too. I live somewhat nearby, but I'm moving a little further away (crime rate sucks over here).

I'm in San Jose too, and while I'd be really nervous to attend a munch, my curiosity would probably win out. I'll look in to the soonest meet-up.

I'm near Santa Cruz, in lovely San Jose. The weather is great and I haven't gotten stabbed yet, so life is good. I'd love to be in Santa Cruz though.
