wetatnight
Huggies had gender specific diapers in the USA back in the 1980's or 1990's but then they went back to the non gender specific diapers. The only gender specific products they offer here now is the Pull ups and Good Nights. what are they austrialian nappies like? Link to comment
freswith
Hello - and welcome to the forum! We had something very similar marketed over here some years ago, but only for a year or two. You might well have worn them at some time, for real. I think they were withdrawn after pressure from the retailers rather than the customers - or the users. At that time I was in a job which required calling on a very large chemist chain. When I went into the stockroom I would be confronted by a solid wall of nappies from floor to ceiling stretching the entire length of the store. This was because they are a very bulky item, and were the largest selling item in sheer physical volume, so they were stored next to the storeroom lifts and stairway. Using gender-specific nappies simply doubled the number of inventory items and required even more storage. In such a chain, every supplier is competing for space on the shopfloor and the storeroom. Gender-specific nappies didn't really help matters. Given the intense competition in the nappy market - and incidentally there has been a recent babyboom over here - it is not surprising they are trying new (old) ideas to get an edge over the competition. I expect we will see them over here again, but alas, not in adult sizes.... A pity! It seems a rather obvious idea. Link to comment

The only ones that aren't are the Newborn size. But they've always had blue packets for Boys and pink packets for Girls. Link to comment
