Back Wetting

I see a lot of posts on various AB sites about not using the back of a diaper enough. "How do I wet the back?" etc. The answer is: You don't! Even the best diapers will only wick so much, and that absorbency is there to protect from liquid blow-outs in the rear. It'll be there when you REALLY need it.

i mean you can always get creative. as a boy, pointing down and squatting/leaning helps. or laying down. or just get a friend to pee down the back for you =P

I lie on my back and wee so the liquid goes to the back. That way I get to wear my nappy for longer because the front and between my legs will fill up while I'm doing other things.

Put your diaper on backwards, and once it's wet on the front side, slip it off, turn it around and put it back on the correct way.  Otherwise Mikey is right, and so is emily to a point.

Lying on back does work to a degree.    Some diapers will work better than others.   Betterdry/Crinklz do wick pretty good without a lot of funky gyrations.

True, but technically you can wet the back. I use a flow through booster that wicks pee really well. That lets me get nearly full use out of my diaper. Soaked front to back, but still no leaks.

I imagine it is easier for girls and women to get the back of the diaper wet when lying on their backs to urinate; I assume there is an anatomical advantage when it comes to directing the urine towards the rear. 😊

I just point mine down whether it be sleeping or during the day. i found out when sleeping the back gets wet more. during the day it kind of spreads evenly to back and front of diaper.
