Yah I was going to say, that was not a kids diaper. Also not cartoon chars as no adult diaper I know of pays out for offical cartoon chars.

The issue there is that it was at what is supposed to be an all-ages event. Pants designed to show off your underwear are genuinely inappropriate for that, diaper or no diaper.

Is it? That diaper is less revealing than most swimsuits. Really doubt seeing an adult in a diaper is going to be traumatic to a child.

personally.... i don't see the need to bring CHILDREN to a pride event....

The line is being blurred between Pride events and Kink events. They are two separate groups that have some crossover.

Walking around in an exposed diaper is going to far, as ABDL is not part of Pride celebrations.

The post above nailed it. Too many people have forgotten the origins of Pride marches and are conflating them with kink events. I have no issue with kinks, and am fairly kinky myself, but personally am disappointed people are trying to make Pride and kink events one and the same because they certainly are not.

The people who say no kink at pride are misunderstanding the history of pride. I think the line is crossed when you're actually verging into doing sex acts. I would say wearing a diaper is fine and most kids would just see it as an adult doing dress up which is definitely a thing that is very common at pride. I was at the local pride last week and saw people dressed as Superman, Spider-Man and boba fett. I don't think a child seeing someone dressed as a baby is going to view it any different

Go read the history. Talk to people who were at the Stonewall riots. Understand that Pride marches were a protest about persecution and rights. The history isn't about partying or kink. I say this as a person who's spent over two decades learning about the history. Younger folks really need to go back and listen and learn that history because it's become very distorted from its origins.

It was also about sexual liberation. People who say there shouldn't be kink at pride are cherry-picking the history.

You're entitled to your opinion but I'll trust the people who lived the reality and did the work at the time. Theres a difference between sexuality and kink that youve conflated. You're twisting history to suit your narrative but that is certainly your prerogative.

I don't agree with the vitriol that the visible diaper engendered, but neither do I agree with wearing one to a public event, pretty well knowing that that was going to be the outcome, and thus, at least to some, being seen as besmirching the event with a tint that many within the larger community would prefer to avoid at all costs - that anyone's kink might have something to do with children. We know that ABDL should have nothing to do with children, but people get those wires crossed all the time. I've been to Pride events and seen people dancing in thongs and BDSM gear, while other people push strollers around. My wife and I are not part of the community, but we've had our kids at Pride events, and I wasn't very exercised regarding most of what you'd see - if the kids had questions, I'd just say that some people are more conservative about what they wear, than others, while at the same time leaving while the sun is still up, in acknowledgement that Pride weekend, at least in Toronto, should not be expected to be entirely kid-friendly, for its duration.

A typical ABDL diaper would be considerably less revealing than many of the outfits on offer at the mid-summer event, but it's way more open to misinterpretation than, say, an aggressively-cut bikini. There are ABDL events, where everyone knows what they're there for, and you're much more likely to glean supportive feedback. Neither would I show up at a friend's Halloween party, in an ABDL outfit, and say, "What? It's a costume, isn't it? What's the big deal?!?" I'd wear a diaper to a Pride parade, but about as openly as I'd wear one to work.

Nah leather kink is very much connected to Pride. Dunno why you're acting like I didn't read this shit in queer history books.

The Pride parade I just went to was kicked off by Dykes on Bikes which is a kink related group.

*shrug* you're entitled to your opinion but it doesn't change history. You read it in books, sure, but have you interacted with the people who LIVED it, two very different things. I wish you the best, im done trying to educate someone who already has their mind made up, which still remains your right to do. Enjoy Pride however you choose to celebrate it in this modern setting.

Man this is offensive to me a gay man saying that I haven't talked to other gay people. Just because you talk to a couple of conservative gays doesn't make that the history.

This isn't a big deal.  It's a controversy crying for attention.

You've again deliberately missed the point. Mistated my posts. Made it about you. Made assumptions and in general are completely off base. Im sorry you take such offense when it wasn't given and cling to a false version of reality. That still remains your choice.

@DailyDi probably best to close this out before it is turned into more false assumptions, accusations and playing the victim.
