What's for dinner?

For me, tonight it's lasagna.  Make it myself.  And this time I did something a bit different.  I'm sort of a plain pasta kind of guy --- noodles, sauce, and cheese - and sometimes throw in some ground beef and/or sausage.   But I had this crazy idea of layering in pepperoni!  Turns out it's not so crazy.  I found quite a few references in a web search.    So, it's in the oven now and pretty soon the house is going to smell like pizza lasagna.   May still have about an hour cook time left.

Fast food burgers. I slept most of the day and my legs were cramping up so I wasn't up to standing at the stove.

Leftover home made spaghetti with meat sauce and green peppers.  I actually found gluten free spaghetti.  That was last night.  I got some thin pork steaks for tonight.

I fully understand that.   It was nearly 2 hours work to make that lasagna.

Honey batter chicken tenders and brown-sugar carrots. Legs still cramping, so Mom cooked.

Some beef stew. Been in the crock pot about five hours now. Good 'stick-to-your-ribs' food duiring a blizzard. I get cold just LOOKING out the window right now.

My home made chili (very hot) and home made corn bread, to be followed up with home made carrot cake.  Watching a blizzard run its course outside the window, champagne is very much in order.  Bollinger is in the frig ready and waiting.  My wife and I are big on champagne.  Any excuse will do.

That sounds REALLY GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm thinking taco burgers this morning when I get off work. Nothing complicated, except I'm adding El Pato tomato sauce, making it kind of like Sloppy joes. I'm thinking pepper jack cheese slices and maybe some lettuce for color.  Gotta do some other chores before I start that idea. I was going to make that for Sunday night, but that was before I got told that I had to work the weekend.

Even a big pot of Bear Creek Vegetable Soup is good on a cold day like this when it's snowing and blowing.  When I make it, instead of all water I use half beef broth, and brown ground beef in the pot.  Beef Stew is great as well.  I cut up a potato, carrots, mixed veggies but also a can of butter beans.  Packaged of dry Beef Stew Mix and let it simmer.  Sometimes I make a casserole with who knows what.  Noodles, tomato sauce, veggies, cheese, beef, chicken, even hot dogs and usually topped with cheese.  Whatever I decide to throw together.  Only one dish to wash with a casserole!  Naturally, tomorrow will be corned beef and cabbage with potatoes and carrots.

Last night I made a roast turkey breast (Jenny-O reall easy thing) and served some of the leftover homemade tomato sauce over it.

Tonight, corned beef and cabbage, carrots, onions, and potatoes.

true --- flavors finally soak through all the layers.

Next time I make it, I plan to do it a day early and then let it sit in the fridge overnight.
