I have never in my life bought a package of ten hot dogs. I am not even sure I've seen a package of ten hot dogs.

I know this was quite common many years ago.  And the complaint was why hotdogs come in packs of 10, but buns only in packs of 8 or 12.   A lot of that has changed.

I'm guessing they're not the jumbo sized then.    😆

I get 8-packs.

But the bigger questions are, "Are hotdogs sandwiches?" "Is tea just 'leaf soup'?"

If they were the jumbo size, he'd still come up short by only being able to fit 6 up his ass!

Hotdogs are tacos. Tea is leaf broth.

I remember a bunch of US colleagues who were with me one day in some US downtown somewhere explaining the concept of “Mystery meat” to me and specifically, how it pertained to hot dogs after I saw a hot dog stand (something we don’t have here) and I decided I wanted to give it a go.

I ate one anyway.  I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.  It was pretty good but yes, taxonomically ineffable.

We too have “mystery meat”: smooshed together random animal parts.  It just has a different form factor.

Same here, hot dogs come in 5 or 10, buns in 4 or 8.

I live alone, so I don't buy buns. A slice of sourdough or wheat berry bread cut in half makes a better-tasting bun anyway.

Well...     Lol.

Usually most hot dog packs DO come in 8. But generally it could also be a marketing tactic so that you buy two packs (or even more, maybe like five(!))to have a matching hotdog or bun for each.

Hot dogs are sandwiches. Tea is not leaf soup, Tea is leaf broth, there is a difference. Just as coffee is broth.

Fair enough about the broth. But corn flakes and milk is DEFINITELY soup!!  lol

Hot dogs aren't sandwiches, wrong sort of bun and cut wrong. Or you may as well say a pie is a sandwage.

Tea is to runny to be soup. Though milky coffee with froth or a hot chocolate is defiantly soup

The other two hotdogs go up ya nose then brethe though your mouth

What makes a sandwich is pretty broad. Generaly its anything served on bread. Now in the US, most people think anything served on sliced white bread is a sandwich, and anything on any other sort of bread is something else, but, nope, that sub  you just had, a sandwich, that hamberger, a sanwich, that hogie, a sandwich. A pie is not a sandwich unless its a bread crust.  As I have yet to see a pie made with a crust of bread. It can get weird as there are a number of things that are made of the same stuff as bread, that are not bread. Pie crust is basicly flour shorting and water. I am sure that at some point someone somewhere tried to quantify what makes a sandwich, but its still pretty open, and covers a rather wide range of things.

Coffee is a broth, it is the water that has been run over the coffee beans. On the other hand, hot chocolate is a soup, as the beans are ground up and mixed with the water.

It depends upon your judge.

"Breakfast sandwich" ... which is usually an english muffin with stuff in between.
"Ice cream sandwich" ---  two cookies (and yes, they are cookies, they sure aint bread!) with ice cream in the middle
OREO --- or generic term "sandwich cookies" -- kinda same thing as the ice cream above

I'm sure we could come up with dozens of examples.
