Sleeping after wetting

One thing I sometimes consider with my desires to go 24/7 is trying to become a bed wetter. Pretty much every time I have gone to bed in a Goodnites I end up waking up and wetting at some point, but I still have control over it and only do it when I’m padded. After I do wet though I end up immediately taking off my diaper. What I’m wanting to work on now is getting back to sleep after I wet. I really want that experience of waking up wet but also think part of achieving that is getting to where I don’t immediately take off the diaper I’m in right after I go. I guess I’m kind of worried about it being bad for my skin and was wanting tips on how to take care of myself after sleeping wet.

Not a doc, but maybe try keeping it on for a few nights but just monitor your skin. I've not taken it off in the middle of the night for years and have no skin issues. That's not to say you wouldn't- I don't know... but, IF you check your skin every morning and make sure things are OK then you'll probably be OK. Skin issues tend to come up with longer term exposure (not in a single night) unless you're extremely sensitive. FWIW I wear 24/7 and most nights awaken in a soaked diaper (either having done so while totally asleep, or having done so while half awake) You may just want to try and then see how it goes. Everyone's different.

Way back I never had a rash, but as I went into the cycling of not remembering to drink enough and then with stomach issues had to find stuff I can drink, I had a really bad rash with bleeding a few user back, and I ended up talking to my dermatology Dr, since I go to him for skin cancer, he was nice enough to of course having to look at my diaper rash,, I got over that, but I now get my jar a month or hydrocortisone ointment a month free with my ins so I am way over stocked but I keep it coming. I just keep my diaper area coated with baby vaseline at night, and if I see any red or pink in the day I will use the med..and that handles it for me..

I wouldn't worry about it too much.  I wear every night.  I wet every night.  I sleep through it every night.  I have never had diaper rash.

After nearly 7 years of 24/7 nappies I am now a frequent bedwetter.  Clearly you're going to have to push through the barrier inhibiting you from sleeping in a wet nappy if you want to get there.

I actually don't have too many issues with nappy rashes.  When they DO happen it's usually related to a combination of protracted cloth usage and heat/dehydration making pee concentrated.  I very rarely see rashes out of disposables.  I believe it also helps that I stay bald down there, wash my nappy area with water at changing time and use a small amount of rash cream most changes as a preventative.

FAQ on how I "accomplished" bed-wetting below:

You seem to be stuck at my "Be comfortable" rule...

Regarding the being bad for your skin, I wear (or try to wear) diapers with plastic backing and advanced wicking, and in the morning, just as a precaution, I will often wipe myself with baby wipes.

I have been wearing in bed all this week and wake up wet everyday with no rash. I have had a rash once or twice in the past but that was usually caused by wetting at the start of the night and lying on my side. I don’t mind a little rash as it is part of  being a little

No issues here with staying in the same diaper until the morning. But I have become religious about cleaning my skin when changing diapers and always using barrier and/or diaper rash cream. That discipline has kept all rashes away for me since before the summer. What's key for me is to 'trust my diaper', i.e. if I want to stay asleep or go back to sleep after peeing, then I have to choose a diaper with enough capacity and good fit so that I can trust it to not leak.

I blame the goodnites! I'm someone who went from waking up to wet and then not being able to go back to sleep, to someone who wakes up with a very wet diaper or soggy sheets a few times a month (hoping to make it a nightly thing soon). I definitely don't feel comfortable going to sleep in a goodnite, even though they were my go-to for ages.

It might be time for you to try something a little more robust than bedwetting pants. Your skin/brain might be uncomfortable because you're maxing out, or close to maxing out the capacity of the goodnites. Try some different types of tape-style diapers if you can. Experiment with boosters. When you find a setup that works for you it might end up being a whole lot easier for you to just go back to sleep.

I have a preference for Forsite AM:PM and Tranquility ATN these days but I've had good luck with Attends and Seni with a booster as well. Most premium ABDL diapers are great for sleeping but not super cost effective to use every single night. If you're in the U.S, carewell is a great site for affordability.

If I wake up in a wet diaper I often take it off and put it on the floor beside the bed especially if its in the middle of the night and then I fall back to sleep in the dry bed. If I wake up lying on peed sheets I usually just take off my pjs and shift to the dry side of the bed and then go back to sleep.

I have that bad habit too, except I am technically incontinent with mixed leakage, so bedwetting happens way too often. My wife is not impressed when I pee all over the bed with her in it, LOL.   Most nights, I will wake up peeing and roll over and go back to sleep. Some nights i can pee like 4 or 5 times

After switching to cloth at night, about 6-7 months ago, I was not concerned about a rash as never had one using disposables.

Within a few weeks, that changed when I started to wake up with a bit of an issue.  I started to use a good strong diaper rash cream and soon forgot about this problem.

Fast forward to now, I seldom use this rash cream as my skin seems to have gotten used to wet night time diapers.  When I wake up, always in a wet, sometimes soaked diaper, I go into my office and do computer time for an hour or so prior to doing my bathroom routine, which involves my daily shower and rinsing out my night time protection in the shower before it goes into my pail prior to laundry.

Point is, as advised by a friend of mine, who has been using diapers a lot longer than I have, he said that "your skin will become accustomed to being in this wet environment, but avoid staying in a messy diaper for long, and continue to drink a lot of water even in the evening to keep your urine from getting concentrated."  Wise words!!

Lucky for me I guess that I sleep alone. I have for more than a decade. I dont know how many times a night I pee although I always assumed it was once or maybe twice. I only know when Ive recently peed if I wake up and its still warm. But thats not very often.
