Guest Posted October 14 Posted October 14 The biggest thing holding me back from buying a Switch 2 is that it doesn't feel like there are any 'must buy' games, or really even many games generally, that have been released yet. I've heard good things about DK: Bananza, but it's just simply not a game that sells consoles. There's also Mario Kart Worlds - I've heard this is good but mostly a sidegrade from MK8 rather than an upgrade. It's kind of shocking to me that there's still no word on a new Zelda or 3D Mario yet. That said... with Pokemon Legends Z-A just around the corner, I'm honestly getting kind of hyped about it and it's making me want to buy a Switch 2. Given Pokemon's track record in the Switch era (+ other reasons), I was half-expecting this game to be hot garbage tbh. Because of the recent leaks, I've seen some early reviews online that have made me significantly more optimistic though. From what I've read so far, it sounds like the game is aesthetically monotonous and ugly, but the gameplay is supposed to be very fun.
DailyDi Posted October 14 Posted October 14 I haven't really enjoyed a console since the SNES! Console games have become too complicated for my likeing. I prefer relaxing play. Would def love a new side-scrolling Mario, but they will never go back in time tech wise so I'm stuck with today's game, and being the grumpy old man telling folks to get off his lawn.

So, no console games in like 30 years? 😮 There are so many good games you're missing out on! I'm mainly a PC guy myself, but Nintendo is my exception since they *usually* have enough good exclusives to justify a console imo. There's also the nostalgia factor too, I guess. Nintendo occasionally releases side-scrollers still, like Super Mario Wonder most recently. I haven't played it yet, but it's supposed to be really good from what I've heard.

I've bought a couple consoles over the years, but haven't kept them. "Wonder" looks more my speed. Might have to give it a try!
astrodiaper Posted October 15 Posted October 15 I really want to, but my budget likely won't allow for it for a while. I saw that there was Street Fighter 6 and Mario Kart World. These are about the only ones I would be interested in, despite the fact that I have everything for Street Fighter 6 on Xbox, up to this point.
Freckles Posted October 15 Posted October 15 Nope. I like the games but I don't support evil companies. And I'm a Palworld type of person, that Nintendo are actively trying to destroy.
Guest Posted October 16 Posted October 16 The discussions I'm seeing elsewhere on the game are a bit mixed. Seems like a lot of people enjoy the new battling system a lot, but the environment and many other aspects are letdowns. Decisions, decisions...
