Ive only ever touched a mac while I was working on my animation degree

I LOATHE them. I like their minimalist aesthetic but I hate everything else about them.

PC all the way!

Both!  I’ve been Windows all my adult life but now I own an iPhone and a iPad which I use way more than the PC.  Actually now I’m starting to learn Linux and use it more than Windows.  My computer can’t run Win 11 and I refuse to buy a new computer so screw you Microsoft!!

My occupational therapist when I was in the mental hospital introduced me to iMacs after always being windows, at the time I had a Vista running HP pavilion and he raved at how much better Mac's were. I was doubtful but soon learned how much I liked my iMac more I after I got one on his advice. I havent been on a windows PC in 15 years. I've had my  current 27'' iMac for 8 years now and it's never let me down, I'm thinking about getting a new one though.

Windows all day and night here.

I did try to learn how to use a recent release iphone but my body and mind were all "nope!".

Linux for me. I gave up Windows when XP support ended back in 2009. I still have the odd VM running Windows, but only use them to help other people. The Mac is fine, but overpriced for my needs.

For my primary desktop computer it's Windoze although the 24H2 Windows 11 update has somewhat stretched the friendship.  I had to re-install to get around rolling BSOD.  I'm also getting very tired of the constant feature-deletion, unwanted new features and controls that wander around the UI like lost ghosts from update to update.

I have a couple of Linux boxes around the house for home automation and whatnot.

I could see myself just going to Linux for the sheer stability.

Phone is Android.  I was never much of a fan of the Apple walled garden and I still have nightmares about the support dramas I got into trying to deal with my beloved's iPhone and the bloated monstrosity that iTunes became...

Don't get me started on iTunes, I lost all my Harry Potter audiobooks when they did an update some years back. I don't speak on the phone unless I have too so didn't contact them which I wished I had of done now. I stick yo YouTube premium now for my music, I think thats the best streaming platform for music, better than Spotify and Apple Music as I love listening to people happy hardcore remixes.

Nobody's mentioned Chrome OS.  Personally I think it's Google trying to make their version of MacOS.

We are still the old folks that buy CD's and put them in the Mac Music app, or what was iTunes... and there have been some loss of music hen we buy a new laptop , but then we sit and re load our CD's,, they are our back up, its not that much of a big deal, they do have some sucky parts a CD that we had loaded beforehand sometimes will not copy all the som=ngs so we have to do that one a different way to get it back,, all the securities o make it worse, and then they don't make any money when we load our own. So they make it have problems on purpose so we may want to pay them to stream the stuff we already own?? but then if we don't have a signal we can't listen to Our Own music,,, it's all about all the companies putting money over quality///

My first mac was a 512k machine with no hard drive. We were in the store looking at macs and the3-year-old daaughter sat down and started drawing with the paint program' that's what sold it to us. A bit before that I'd taught myself WordStar on an Osborne 1 at work. Quite a few years later I was the sysad for the LIMS system at work; hp-1000, then hp-ux, Of course I used ms-dos and windows at work too. But at home it's been Mac all the way. I don't use any Microsoft software at all. What I've liked about it is that I've nearly always been able to figure out how to fix problems that have come up without needing support from Apple.

Windows, but I'm hoping that will change eventually with how idiotic Microsoft have become.

Linux is good, but it's just not quite there yet as a suitable replacement, not even with Bazzite.

Windows all the way. Many years ago I got tired on Apple's inability to connect with Windows products.

Apple has a great UI but that's it.

Mac all the way, not all the way back to the first Mac but with Apple since PowerPC RISC was the processor. i like the integration of my Mac laptop with my other Apple products, phone, tablet, and watch. Not a Windows-hater, just like the Apple universe.

No. Linux all the way.

I'm reminded of this old trope:

Macs are for those who don't want to know why their computer works.
Linux is for those who want to know why their computer works.
DOS is for those who want to know why their computer doesn't work.
Windows is for those who don't want to know why their computer doesn't work.

I'm mainly a Windows user. The only time I've ever used a Mac was for about a year when my uncle gave one to my parents when I was about 6. However, I didn't start using it until I was about 7. I already missed using Windows because some of my favorite computer games to play were incompatible with Macs at the time.

I am forever Windows, I feel like Mac is mostly for intricate/specialized users.

Since we went over to Mac back in the late 1990's we said we will never go back to windows, even when I got a windows laptop maybe 10 yrs ago I am still planning to wipe it and put linux on it..
