scaifester Posted August 26, 2025 Posted August 26, 2025 As many of your have mentioned, even the best and most absorbent diapers still leak especially in bed. Different body positions (back, stomach or side) and gravity often leads to leaks. Cloth diapers and plastic pants help but sometimes I don't want to wear them and only want to wear a disposable by itself. Some of the leaks are surprising. The other day, I woke up with a leak while I was sleeping on my back and the pee went up the back of the diaper so the back of the diaper, my shirt and sheets were wet but the front wasn't. Where do you experience diaper leaks when you bedwet?
DailyDi Posted August 26, 2025 Posted August 26, 2025 My biggest issue is seeping around the legs when my lounge pants touch the leg guards of my diaper. 3
liljim57 Posted August 26, 2025 Posted August 26, 2025 Standing or sitting in the legs. Laying down out the back or side. 1
widdlemikey Posted August 26, 2025 Posted August 26, 2025 Seldom up the backside, but often around a leg. Sometimes I sort of know I didn't get the thing taped on just right. Plastic pants help, but they seem to 'stiffen' after used too much. When I lay down to sleep, I sort of 'position' things to point forward and not down towards my bottom. Very rare for me to have a leak up my back. 1
Craisler Posted August 26, 2025 Posted August 26, 2025 I don’t experience leaks very often anymore. However, when I do, it’s frequently in from because I sleep on my stomach and the diaper gets over saturated in that area.
Goodnitesboi Posted August 26, 2025 Posted August 26, 2025 Laying on my stomach and on the front or the side
Cute_Kitten Posted August 26, 2025 Posted August 26, 2025 Most of my diaper leaks occur around the legbands of my diapers, especially if I drank a lot of liquids before bed so I'm having a heavy wetting night. I don't flood my diapers; I constantly dribble. But even a thick night diaper with a booster can only hold so much. That's why my bed has a plastic waterproof sheet and I usually wear plastic panties over my diapers. 1
Hookedondiapers Posted August 27, 2025 Posted August 27, 2025 I don't leak too often, but it is almost always at the back of the leg holes. 1
Wet Knight Posted August 31, 2025 Posted August 31, 2025 . Even if I start by lying on my back, I usually seem to end up curled up on my side, which is not too bad in a terry nappy, but disposables on vacation, always leak. Incidentally, at a Continence clinic, I was told that a sleeping body is most likely to wet when lying on its back.
Davoli Posted September 1, 2025 Posted September 1, 2025 I find it's mostly the sides, where there is no padding. Wetness spread across the front and when it spills over to the side panels, there's nothing to stop it. 1
deewet Posted September 5, 2025 Posted September 5, 2025 I am using up some disposables I have had for night use, prior to getting my cloth diapers early this year. Unfortunately, last night I had a reminder of why I went to cloth to begin with, as I had a leak while sleeping on my side, enough to get my night shirt wet on the side, and the bed sheets wet under me as well. Thank goodness I rolled over and noticed it in the night so that I could move away from it, allowing it to dry up by morning. Hope the wife doesn't notice a stain on the sheets or something.
JustMe.dk Posted September 15, 2025 Posted September 15, 2025 Usually in the front of the diaper. I sleep in disposable diapers so if I happen to wet while sleeping on my stomach or side, it may result in a leak. However I never flood my diapers when I wet, since I have very little bladder capacity that helps a lot in that regard. So that helps keeping leaks at a minimum
oznl Posted September 15, 2025 Posted September 15, 2025 When I'm sleeping in disposables the usual failure modality is leaking out the side either at the top of my thighs or hip. This happens if I pee on my side which can sometimes occur if I wet during sleep. This is managed by a pair of terry-lined plastic pants worn over the disposable nappy. I used to leak a lot in bed wearing disposables but it's settle down a great deal now. I suspect this is in part because I tend to wet very frequently in small quantities now and in part because I've found better nappies: the BeDry night premium work very well in bed for me. They are nearly as good as cloth. Cloth nappies in bed are usually pretty good irrespective of whatever orientation I'm in when they get used. The odd leak that has occurred with cloth has been due to my plastic pants riding up over my nappy, usually at the rear of my thighs allowing the damp cloth to directly touch the bed. Fortunately this is rare.
Benji2000 Posted September 16, 2025 Posted September 16, 2025 I dont leak super often but when it happens its always the leg gathers like butt/thigh area.
FretaBWet Posted September 28, 2025 Posted September 28, 2025 Last night my night diapers leaked badly through both legs and the waist. This was a flannel diaper with six gauze baby diapers folded into the center panel as soakers with a pair of Gary 7 mil. high waist plastic pants with enclosed elastics. This combo is usually reliable but sometimes you just have an off nights. Hugs, Freta 1
Rabbitnappies76 Posted October 3, 2025 Posted October 3, 2025 In bed my nappies occasionally leak, thinks it’s often when my ‘equipment’ is not fully down. Only ever happens with disposable nappies, never with cloth ones. I have never worked out why but the worst leaks tend to happen when I am sitting down…
deewet Posted November 3, 2025 Posted November 3, 2025 Last night I had a bad leak, probably while sleeping on my side. I was in one of my pre-fold overnight cloth diapers with a PUL cover on, but I find that these covers tend to move down during the night, probably what happened allowing the leak. Wife was not happy this morning washing the bedding, and I got the lecture about not having any alcohol at night, only had a couple drinks prior to dinner? In any event, I dug out my leakmaster high waist plastic covers again, telling her that I will wear these again as they are much higher in the waist, even as they are noisy and a fair bit warmer. As this was my first major leak in several years, I thought that the cloth diapers made the difference, but now believe it is a proper waterproof pantie that is the answer. 1
CrookedRain Posted February 18 Posted February 18 Leaking during the second pee in the same pullups always come from the leghole. Specifically the inside of my thigh, no matter my position. If it's pee number 3 or more in the same pair, inside thigh and seeping through the stretch material along the sides where there is no absorbent material.

I fold 1 and put it across my back inside my big diaper; if I sleep on my back. I still leak around the legs if I drink alot or from squeeze out. 1
Gejoe Posted March 10 Posted March 10 I am a side sleeper and often get leaks even though I wear cloth pull on with a booster and plastic pants, like my avatar shows. Fortunately I usually end up on my back and end up with a wet butt but no leaks.
deewet Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I have been trying to use up my disposable diaper supply since a week long vacation trip where I had to use the disposables rather than the cloth I have for overnight, and got caught leaking on my bed again about a month ago or so. Wife was not happy. I have since gotten a pair of euro plastic bloomer pants, and even as they are a bit noisy and warm, they have stopped all sorts of leaks so far. It is hard to imagine anything getting past them and from what I can read, they should last a very long time as are the most durable plastic diaper cover that is on the market. Take it from me, THEY WORK 1
Huggies wearer Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Only If I'm not paying attention which is very rare. My Huggies can leak around the leg cuffs if I flood them too much. I try and avoid that because I don't know about any one else but I hate when my Huggies leak.
CrookedRain Posted May 21 Posted May 21 When my pullups leak, they really leak. The girls' XL Goodnites are about as leak proof as I've found in a pullup. They only leak if I use the same pair more than twice or if I have an accident that turns out to be a REALLY big full bladder pee. My point being, because they only leak when it's just far too much for it to handle at all, no edge or seam is safe. The pee comes out everywhere, the leg holes, the top. It even soaks through the elastic bands on the sides. 1
pantyman Posted May 27 Posted May 27 If I do get a leak , and it is rare , it's usually if I didn't double booster. I might leak at the waist band if I'm on my back. I'm a boy so it can puddle and run out the top or it may leak at the leg opening if I'm laying on my side. But both are because I probably maxed out that area of my diaper henss the need for two boosters.
foreverdl Posted May 27 Posted May 27 My leaks are on my night diapers I do need them to last 12 hrs and no matter what I wear it will leak on the left side crotch I use a cloth baby diaper inside of my really thin underwear thats to help hold it in place, it will catch some and I just hang dry it and re use it till it gets a good smell to it. But I do run my diapers to the Max no matter day or night so I get my money out of it...that comes with leaks so I just wear stuff that drys fast and pads on my chair...all part of enjoying the soaked feeling and getting the most out of it..
