diaperguy85 Posted August 24, 2025 Posted August 24, 2025 Has anyone else tried these? I have, and I must say, they are some of the most comfortable diapers I have ever worn!! They're a mid range absorbency, about 5000mL (give or take), cloth backed, velcro tabbed diaper that fit me like a dream! They could be ultimate daytime diaper, if it weren't for one thing... Unfortunately, they weep/perspire/seep pee through their cloth shell. I know this happens sometimes with cloth-back diapers, but I had some of these before that didn't weep. Now the ones I have weep, and it sucks! I would wear these everywhere! But they weep pee! Has anyone else tried these and have the same issue? Or maybe I just got a lousy batch? 2
zzzz50 Posted August 27, 2025 Posted August 27, 2025 I use these for daytime use and have not had any weeping problems. I don’t soak these like my overnight diaper and have not experienced the weeping that you indicate. Do you usually soak them or does the weeping start immediately? Incontrol has excellent and very responsive customer service so you may want to reach out to them since this seems to be a new problem.
Cute_Kitten Posted August 28, 2025 Posted August 28, 2025 I've had this same problem with a case I bought. Back in the past (like when they first came out) I wore them and had 0 problems. They're my favorite cloth-backed diaper with strong velcro tabs that hold securely and enough absorbency that I don't have to change my diaper every hour. 😂 I normally wear high-absorbency plastic backed diapers like Sunkiss Masterpiece and Northshore Megamax. But in the summer or on some occassions I want a thinner diaper for discretion. This case of Active Air I've noticed the weeping pee through the shell. At first I thought it was just a faulty diaper or maybe my diaper tore or something. Then it happend with like 5 diapers. I counter this by wearing a pair of Northshore Trifecta waterproof panties over top of my diaper. It really helps but also counters the whole breathability aspect for a hot, humid summer. 😆
diaperguy85 Posted August 29, 2025 Author Posted August 29, 2025 @zzzz50, I've noticed at the very first wet, and then after when I'm changing out that the shell is wet. I have had a few so far in this case that didn't feel (as) wet from weeping, but still frustrating. I thought about contacting them, but haven't yet. Maybe I'll drop them message. @Cute_Kitten - i had a similar experience: early when they came out, i got a bag with no weeping. The case i bought shortly after is weeping. Also the bag I bought shortly after that (thinking maybe just a bum batch or something) weeps too. I'd say about 35 out of the last 40 wept, some more than others. I use plastic and PUL pants with a bit of paper towel or toilet paper in them, which showed the extent of the weeping. That being said, I discovered a new use for some old pull-ups that have been sitting in my stores for too long lol. Takes in whatever wetness the diapers let go, and make the whole kit amazingly comfortable!! The right amount of bulk, and the right amount of snugness! Almost a shame I only have about 30 left lol
zzzz50 Posted August 29, 2025 Posted August 29, 2025 @diaperguy85 @Cute_Kitten I ordered mine back in March and have not had any issues. I would definitely contact their customer service to report, they could have a bad batch.
Little Sherri Posted August 31, 2025 Posted August 31, 2025 I wear them all the time, they are a go-to product for me. Very comfortable, reliable, quiet, and relatively inexpensive. But yes, they "sweat" a bit. It's weird - it's almost like they're RO filtering water into a dew that you can detect by feel, but that doesn't really smell - it's not the same as a diaper leak. I've worn an Active Air for some hours underneath a pair of shorts, to the point that the shorts feel just slightly damp, in places where they have prolonged contact with the diaper, but when I change my diaper, and sniff-test the shorts, they don't smell like they've been exposed to on a hot day over an afternoon, which would have a distinct "unkept toddler" bouquet. And no matter how long you wear them, unless they leak, at no point will the sweating cause your clothes to become visibly wet, at least in my experience. Admittedly, I'm mostly wearing jeans or heavy cotton shorts over them, being a male of the species. Maybe I'd have more issues if I wore them under white leggings, but the world doesn't want to see that.
diaperguy85 Posted September 1, 2025 Author Posted September 1, 2025 @Little Sherri- I agree! They are amazing diapers! I'll have to check for a smell again when I wear them again. I've found droplets in my plastics after wearing for several hours, but I don't really remember a smell. There might have been an odor, but I could have also imagined it. I'm still apprehensive about wearing them out and about if they do infact have an odor. Regardless, wearing some old pull-ups over them stops whatever seeps out, but it isn't a permanent solution. A very comfortable solution, but not permanent lol. The swell and bulge is not terribly descrete, plus the total cost. Luckily I don't have many Airs left in my current stock. 1
oznl Posted September 2, 2025 Posted September 2, 2025 They punch above their weight but in my experience, the outer shell does get damp. I just wear plastic plants over them so no problems but invariably, the inside surface of those plastic pants where it is in contact with the nappy shell is wet by change time. I'm on my second case which tends to suggest against it being simply a bad batch although, I live in a small market with a sole supplier so the turnover may not be that high. I could still be burning through product from the same container load I guess.
diaperguy85 Posted September 2, 2025 Author Posted September 2, 2025 I'm burning through my remaining stock and plan to order another bag of them at some point in the spring. If it was a faulty batch, then they should (hopefully) be all gone by then.
