foreverdl Posted July 8, 2025 Posted July 8, 2025 I thank you for posting this, and I don't remember this episode, believe me I would have watched it back then, I was really wanting to be in diapers back then as well as all my life. I had to keep mine secret. I can see that the people back then had the same view as people do now.

I just wish he'd done the episode when he still had a serious show and not switched over to the Springeresque spectacles that he had to do to keep viewers.
Rachael-Little Posted July 8, 2025 Posted July 8, 2025 I think I remember watching this but not for sure, I was just beginning to realize this wasn’t something I was alone in feeling so it did kinda help me 1
babystevie1987 Posted October 17, 2025 Posted October 17, 2025 Fair play to the guys for going on and talk about this. Like to know where are they now and did this affect their life afterwards.

AFAIK, we don't have many posters from that generation, but I'd suspect at least some of them would be on this site if they were still around. That was the first time I realized I wasn't the only one who wanted to wear diapers, but my grandma thought they were freaks.

Sadly a lot of people would think the same. But it doesn't help that there are people out there that give us a bad name. Most people just see it as wrong and not ask why we want to regress back to baby hood.

Did they show the audience reacting to Tommy's accident?

The group on Donahue wasn't DPF. Also, Springer was way more sensational than Donahue.
Little Matt Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 I 100% remember this. First time I knew I wasn't the only one. Donahue was better than Springer, not great, but definitely better. Still though, knowing I wasn't alone was awesome. Very brave of these people to go on TV back then.

He conducted actual interviews with knowledgeable people on subjects rarely seen on TV. Then the copycats came along and made it a spectacle, Donohue had to shift to keep his ratings up. Oddly Oprah went the opposite route, her show became more serious over time.

I just can't imagine a respected journalist shifting from true journalism to spectacle😁 (I almost got through that with a straight face). That happens all too common. Compare the class that Johnny Carson had, and the sophistication of Dick Cavett, versus the garbage that infiltrates the media today. Even when somebody has a strong show that is well done, it will become garbage because of the pressures from their producers. Remember when the Travel Channel had travel, the Food Network had cooking, and the History Network taught history. No offense to all of us, but this show marked the start of that decline for Donohue. It was clearly a spectacle, and wasn't meant to be a serious exploration of ABDLs. However, even at his lowest, he couldn't drop as low as Jerry Springer was when he tried to somewhat classy.
