What’s your storage situation?

I’m curious about how folks store their diaper supplies. For the moment, I have taken a few (several!) shelves in my closet and dedicated them to diaper storage - one for opened packages and a few more for longer term storage of still-sealed bags. I really enjoy the opened diaps being stacked and displayed, close to the bed where I usually change.

I’ve started to think about dedicating more space to my diapering - started with the thought that it would be nice to get my diaper pail out of the main bedroom/ en suite, which kind of spiraled into thinking about converting a space into a dedicated diapering room. Maybe not quite a full nursery (I’m really not an AB), but someplace with a dedicated diaper storage space, changing table, and whatnot.

Has anyone created such a space? Where did you put it? How’s the design? My wife is tentatively on board, but we want to get the planning right.

Currently they are everywhere, but the plan is to get diapers organized in a walk-in closet.

In my "man cave", I have two small closets.  One of those is dedicated to diaper storage.  I can fit about 12 unopened packs, plus two storage totes of plastic pants, cloth diapers, wet wipes and other accessories.  In that same room is a dresser full of my daily diapers.

My bags of diapers are stored on shelves in the spare room that has library style bookshelves.

My ready to wear diapers are in a a cabinet in my room.

My diapers in my nursery are kept on the shelves of a baby change table. They are out of the bags and stacked ready to go when I need to be changed. The rest of the bags of diapers are kept in a storage closet.

Mine are in a few places.

The ones in rotation are in my beside stand, extras are in their bags under the bed. Everything else unopened are in the closet waiting thier turn.

This is awesome, @CuriousForPadding. I'm always impressed and envious of your relationship - she's a keeper! My wife is okay with my having three diaper drawers in our bedroom, basically: one is for white disposables, and one is for prints/colours - they are both in a highboy dresser that I use as a bedside table. I have a third drawer in an armoire that contains my cloth diapers and plastic pants. There is a clear box on our bathroom counter with my diaper pins in it - she raids those all the time. I once showed up at a Santa Clause parade, to find about 20 kids with badges pinned to their jackets, with my diaper pins.  

I also have two adjacent shelves in the basement, where my cases of diapers are stacked - I have around 10 cases in stock, generally, with a half dozen or so being open. My system consists of "going shopping" about once every ten days or so, usually with a laundry basket, down in the basement, and I try to estimate what my diaper requirements will be for the coming ten days or so. Then, I pick out a bunch of practical daytime diapers, and a bunch of heavy duty overnight diapers, in a mix of printed and white. To those, I add a few cloth-backed diapers: a couple to a few Active Air's, and a couple of Tena slim diapers and Tranquility ATN's as "fill-in" diapers when I have a few hours to kill before I can take a shower and put something decent on again. Then, I select a couple of "special occasion" diapers, indulgences like the Rearz Daydreamers or ABU Little Kings - diapers that cost a fair bit, so I only budget a couple of them a cycle, for wearing if I have a night where I can lounge around in them, and I'm not running errands or wearing oversized jeans, where it doesn't matter what I have on, because they live and die in the darkness of my trousers. 

I'd love to have a "nursery", or at least a dedicated diaper space; I don't know that I want a crib - I like my king size bed. Just a changing table, and shelves for my diapers, maybe glass jars for my pacifiers, and a spot for diaper cream and baby powder on a shelf by the changing table. Right now, my diaper can is in our walk-in closet, but if I had a diaper room, I'd have it in there.

Ah ..... space - the finite frontier!  And I've kinda run out.  I've got diapers stacked up in a closet down stairs and for a long time, I had multiple cases stacked up in front of that closet.  But, I took over my spare bedroom some time ago and have the bulk of my stock in there.  It's bad enough I can't really use it as my spare bedroom at the moment.   (I also have all of my inflatable toys stored in there too - 4 large bins.)

In my bedroom, I've got some on shelves inside my closet, but I bought myself a large cabinet in which I put the bulk of my opened bags.  At first, I had just stacked them up on the shelves, but that wasn't working out all that great.  I always had this idea of spring-loaded shelf dispensers like you see in stores.  Pick the front item off and the spring pushes the rest forward.  Well, that's never gonna happen but I have the next best solution. I got cardboard shelf bins that are the perfect size for stacking diapers vertically.

 

I rotate the stock there from time to time so it's never quite the same selection.  And I thought I was doing well drawing down my massive inventory.  I just completed the first count in quite some time and was a bit disappointed that it's virtually unchanged!  I've been "bad" and been buying new stuff about as fast as I've been using up the inventory.  And here I was about to press the button on 2 more orders.

My storage situation is easier in that I only have plastic pants and other plastic garments and no diapers. Since I live alone the master bedroom closet is largely devoted to plastic dresses, skirts, and raincoats on the rails, with large plastic containers of plastic rompers and skirts on the floor, smaller containers of plastic panties stacked up on the shelves. (A smaller area is set aside for normal clothes.) Plus a rail of skirts in the computer room closet...two dresser drawers...a low shelf full of rompers...and some recently bought plastic pants on the desk that I haven't gotten around to finding containers for.

I am a Dl first, I do love some AB, anyhow I love the Plastic of all kinds , and like you I have loved playing with plastic as long as I can remember, I used the shower curtains back as a kid long showers,,,,,,, and I am into all of your plastic I just can't collect the dress and skirts in plastic not too much, I have had to go slow over the years , my wife is not into it. I have started to collect plastics of tights, and just the soft ones, I used them to hold up my night diapers they get to 4-5 pound t times.. I love the smooth plastic crib mattress I have several, and the ones not smooth , I put smooth plastic over I use them also for my enemas. Sounds like sooo much fun to play in all the plastic skirts and stuff you have.

Oh jeez I hear this! Hahaha, trying to get a plan in motion is a whole thing, but when my ADHD clicks in on a project, I can get pretty into it lol.

All cloth, boosters, and disposable diapers are in wall units. Plastic pants are in drawers as are nappy nippas, nappy pins, barrier creams etc

Yeah, Mrs Padding is a keeper for sure! I think you and I are on the same wavelength - I’m not an AB, but I’d like to have some “amenities” when I’m taping myself up! And besides, I’ve created a cool little nook for my photography habit and my record collection, and I take pride in styling our bookshelves, so why not have a great display storage for the cute range of diapers that lets me really enjoy it?

Actually, what might be the ideal solution would be side rails that look like crib sides since the crib aspect ratio is more like a King than a Twin. I have yet to find such on Ebay

so when you got a big house with a small family well i took advantage of that. so the main level is living, but the second level or upstairs i got half of diaper storage the other half is the wife's craft room.

I keep in-service packs in my wardrobe as three stacks: one for regular-day, one for regular-night, then a third stack with luxury/fun diapers.

Unopened packs are currently in the wardrobe with lesser used clothes vacuum packed into bags under the bed.

I've been thinking about buying sheets of wood to make new shelves in my wardrobe for my actual clothes. Radical.

I have a closet full of clothes that is usually open or with a very clear curtain, since the door track is bent and doors would not stay put. Also my two dresses are full of skirts, babydolls, slips and panties. Since skirts, pinafore dresses and blouses can be combined in different ways, I have enough for about a year's worth of dressing though I could use a few more pinafore dresses

It's funny how it's grown over the years.  In my teens I had a small box in the closet.  Now it's  4 plastic totes in the basement, a chest of drawers, a few boxes in a storage building and stashed in several other various drawers but still mostly in the basement since my wife is always super scared of someone discovering.  If I lived along I would probably have a nursery room and leave everything out there.  

Interesting side note.  I once visited an online ABDL friend while I was on a roadtrip.  He lived alone and rarely had visitors or guests so I was really surprised to find that he kept all his ABDL stuff hidden, despite having a spare bedroom.

Disorganised chaos here.  A cupboard under the bath, bags under the bed, but mostly in boxes and a car topbox in the garage.  And a box of 80 Dotty Diapers vanilla disposables in the boot of the car, picked up at a Littles event on Sunday.  Today's job is to make sense of it all, decide what can be thrown away or donated at the next event I go to, and fit everything somewhere.  It's going to be a busy day...

I’ve had just about every mention of storage in this discussion. All time fav was the trunk (boot) of an old broke down car. But recently I wanted to have a space, one space for all my diapers (could fill 20 trunk-boots of cars). I don’t have 20 broke down cars thank god. I want one place to hide it all because my siblings are starting families and that one time they visit I want everything to be put away. I’d like to have over vanilla friends without worrying. I’ve had many hiding  spots but my collection now is huge and no one place could facilitate it all. 

My solution was a 20ft shipping container in my back yard. The front ten feet is an innocent computer hobby tinker lab. Anyone could see this and not think any different. Unless they found the secret door that leads to the room occupying the back ten feet. Insulated and dry walled to regulate moisture. It’s so nice to finally have everything hidden in one place. Looking forward to friends and family visiting plus no stress.
