bspecnoza Posted January 2, 2025 Posted January 2, 2025 During training do you guys pee before diapering for the night or do you just go to bed with a full/partially full bladder? I've always peed before diapering when untraining over the past 4 months but sometimes I find my diaper is only 1/4 or 1/2 full in the morning. I'm wondering if going to bed with a full or partially full diaper will have any impact on my training.
Diapered Dave Posted January 2, 2025 Posted January 2, 2025 If I have even a partially full bladder, I can't get to sleep at all. 3
soggster Posted January 3, 2025 Posted January 3, 2025 The consensus seems to be it's easier to learn to wet at night if you have an already-wet diaper on. It's then a case of finding the biting point where you go to bed somewhat wet but not too wet that the next wettings will cause a leak. I'm guilty at going to bed then browsing my phone for an hour or so, by which point it's time for a change, and more intake of fluids lest I fall asleep dry and wake up bursting
oznl Posted January 3, 2025 Posted January 3, 2025 1 hour ago, soggster said: The consensus seems to be it's easier to learn to wet at night if you have an already-wet diaper on. ^ My experience was exactly this. When bed wetting first emerged it appeared as falling asleep in a slightly-wet nappy and waking up later in a fully wet nappy with no apparent need to pee. If I went to be dry however, it was far more likely that I'd just wake up needing to pee later. It's like part of my brain said to me whilst sleeping "Well, you're wet anyway so what difference would waking up make?" Alcohol turbo-charged this phenomenon. I'd usually just make sure my bladder was completely emptied into my night nappy before falling asleep in it. This usually happened whilst cleaning my teeth. Running water does that to me. A combination of hydration and limited bladder range (due to my 24/7 habit) would ensure that I'd need to pee during the night anyway. Eventually, the requirement of being wet anyway faded and I had incidents of falling asleep dry and waking up wet later. Later still, I discovered that even with no nappy at all I might wet the bed. Lately I just don't know what happens because I can't seem to ever remember. It just seems to happen by itself. This might recover a little when holiday season ends and I back up yule-tide alcohol but I still won't be reliably dry at night. 3
dlmolicares Posted January 8, 2025 Posted January 8, 2025 I started working on this full time (every night) around 4-5 years ago. For the last year I've gotten to the point that I almost always pee before going to bed. Even with that my bladder really fills at night. Sometimes I wet in my sleep, then wake up in the middle of the night and still really have to go again. Other times I don't wet in my sleep but wake up in the middle of the night really needing to go. So, for me at least, there's plenty of urine even if I go to bed empty.

If you have a full bladder and you have to go so badly that you can't release then you have a major problem. Only problem with the situation like this is, if you have to go to the bathroom so bad that you cannot release, it can be a pain in the neck and it feels like somebody put 10 tons of glue in the piping downstairs. Once you're able to release though, if you're trying to hold it back it's like trying to Empty Niagara Falls into your diaper, and most diapers aren't even built for that type of use, unless you're using one of the type of diapers that is used for someone who is totally incontinent both directions. If I could go to the bathroom every night before putting a diaper on, that would be cool, but sometimes you don't know if you're going to have to use the diaper, and you're not sure when whatever you have ingested will be coming out. With my medicines I take, diaside is one that I take and that is a diuretic, so if you have to take that there is a 100 percent possibility that you will have a wet diaper in the morning. Truth be told, I would rather be able to put a diaper on and then be able to say, OK I'll be able to relax now so I won't have to get up. If I've been lucky enough, that I won't have to get up i'll just use my diaper. I know for a fact that by the time I get up in the morning I will have a wet diaper because diazide does that automatically, being a diuretic. I once stated that taking that medicine, if you've ever done it, is exactly how a two year old potty training child feels when he is trying to hold it but can't and has to use the diaper. Doing it this way, I don't have to worry about whether I will use the diaper, I just put one on and will use it. Want to make sure that you don't have any problems with burning sensation, because that can be a pain in the neck especially if you are trying to hold or you had to hold, and sometimes that can be a pain in the neck too. I would rather be able to slowly be able to release, so I don't flood the diaper all in five seconds and then have to use it twice. Had that happened where I flooded the diaper so that it is so big that it's ridiculous and that is an issue so that is why I'll always try to make sure that as much as can be planned I'm not going to bed 5 seconds before I fill the diaper because that means you have to get up and change it later on if you have to use it again at that intensity. However I've got to say wearing diapers is one of the best things that ever happened to me because I don't have to worry if or when I use the diaper I just know I will use it. Brian 1
Little BabyDoll Christine Posted January 15, 2025 Posted January 15, 2025 I am in a clean diaper a couple of hours before bedtime, so I have wet once or twice by bedtime. My diaper is usually good for 12 hours

I'm in a similar (leaky) boat - I tend to head up our bedroom a couple of hours before actually turning out the lights, because my wife likes to watch a show in bed while she unwinds. I might watch it with her, or read, or doom-scroll the news feed on my phone, but while doing that, I am usually dressed for bed, which usually means a diaper and a t-shirt or a sweatshirt. If what I have on isn't fantastically soaked, I might stay in it, but I am pretty frugal, so often, whatever I have on for a diaper will have been in play for a good number of hours, and I don't want to sit next to her in a diaper that is glowing yellow, and worry about off smells that might be wafting around me, that I have habituated to. So, I tend to shower and put on my bedtime diaper, then hang out for an hour or 90 minutes, by which point it will be slightly wet when I go to bed. I do think that being slightly wet breaks down some unconscious barriers to wetting yourself further while you sleep. My most egregious unconscious diaper-soakings have occurred when I was already at least a bit wet, and, I had been drinking wine or strong beers for a good while prior to retiring.
fredy552 Posted January 17, 2025 Posted January 17, 2025 I usually put a clean diaper on as I am getting ready for bed. Sometimes I need to pee other times I do not. I do wet while sleeping and sometimes I wet again when I wake up. On weekends I will wear my wet diaper for a while I watch the weather and the news and ESPN. Drinking my coffee.

My usual are the Abena L4 but those often soak through the sheets (and definitely would if I just let go at every opportunity throughout the night) I actually put a cloth diaper outside of the abeana with plastic pants on top of that and STILL have wet sheets quite often even if I'm limiting fluids. Would be heavenly to have something strong enough to last throughout the evening!

Gejoe Posted February 23, 2025 Posted February 23, 2025 I always pee before going to bed but my bladder never seems to empty completely, so before I go to sleep I wet my diaper with what is left in my bladder. I have never been able to pee in my sleep and I have been wetting for the last seventeen years.

I'm usually the same except when I'm completely exhausted or have been drinking when in both cases I generally fall asleep quite quickly. I remember that when my older brother and I used to be woken up by our mom or dad between 4 and 4:30 am to go the bathroom when we were young I often couldn't go but would wake up soaked two or three hours later.
ddjas03 Posted July 29, 2025 Posted July 29, 2025 If I am going to bed padded, I always pee before I go in my bed & when I get out of bed in the morning. I don't really want to wet the bed or unconsciously wet but wearing to bed is comfy.
longislandguy Posted July 29, 2025 Posted July 29, 2025 I make sure not to go to bed with a full bladder. I’ll just wake up an hour later. But, if I don’t need to pee as I fall asleep, I’ll usually wet during the night.

In the past I too couldn’t fall asleep with even the slightest pee urgency. That's changed. Now I release a squirt or two to lower the urgency and drift off only to wake later with an empty bladder and much wetter diaper. It might work for you! 19 hours ago, longislandguy said: I make sure not to go to bed with a full bladder. I’ll just wake up an hour later. But, if I don’t need to pee as I fall asleep, I’ll usually wet during the night. Not me, once asleep I rarely wake till the end of the first sleep cycle which is roughly ninety minutes for me. If I have to pee in that period it’s into the bed or now diaper. I stumbled upon this in my twenties and have subsequently used it to become a regular (planned) bed-wetter. For better or worse, having wet in my sleep thousands of times during the first cycle I’m now prone to wetting the bed anytime I sleep, diapered or not. 2
pantyman Posted August 12, 2025 Posted August 12, 2025 I put my diaper on about an hour before bedtime. So anytime after that if I have to go I just use my diaper. If I go to bed having to go I'll lay there while I'm getting comfortable. Then I will go again.
babykeiff Posted August 18, 2025 Posted August 18, 2025 There are a number of items needed to gain nocturnal enuresis (night wetting) or wetting while asleep. The reduction of the production of ADH vasopressin so that the bladder continually fills to emptying point. Being able to stay asleep while voiding. Defeating the childhood fear of waking up cold and wet from either a leaky diaper / no diaper, which was one of the primary reasons you stopped originally wetting at night. A cold wet leaky diaper / training pants was also one of the reasons you toilet trained daytime. Each item could be focused on individually, but since it is the combination that is needed for retarding voiding while asleep, it is better to address them all together. This is more of convincing the mind rather than directly controlling each item, and this is done by the following:- A diaper thick enough so that even if worn for 48 hours, it wouldn't leak. For this type of absorbancy, one needs cloth and plastic pants, which also triggers a secondary sense - ears, where ones ears are used to the rusle noise as a feedback from childhood on every movement. The thickness and absorbancy of the diaper creates the question the next morning 'is the diaper wet?' since one can't easily determine if ones diaper is wet, or just warm, soft and comfortable when a diaper is that thick. A plastic sheet, the noisier the better, on the bed under the sheet with a layer of baby powder on the plastic, to also reinforce the sound of the crinkle plus the relevant feeling of a plastic coated matteress to convince yourself that even if this diaper leaks, there is no damage to the mattress / bed the overpowering aroma of baby powder to trigger your memory to recall, while asleep, your behaviour of sating each and every need without question Continually drinking water / juice - avoid alcohol as it tends to dehydrate a person, the reverse of what we are aiming for, overhydration. Before getting into bed, add warm water (body temp) into the diaper at the genitals. A turkey baster would be ideal as it directs the water around the genitals which means that they are damp. The diaper is not soaked, but has a little wetness in it. As a result, even before you get into bed, you are wet so the reason not to wet the diaper becomes mute. What you want is as soon as you start drifting asleep, and as you relax your muscles, your bladder sphincters also relax and allow you to wet, where the added wetness is not noticable to you. The concept of voiding into the diaper before you get into bed is not ideal as :- As a baby, before you were placed in a bed / cot / crib, your diaper was always changed while you were lying on your back, but gravity / pressure of you being lifted up from the changing table would have put some pressure on your bladder which caused it to wet a little thus warming up the diaper, but since it was beyond your control, you hardly noticed this wetting. When you were being toilet trained, you voided in the bathroom before getting into bed and was mobile enough to be vertacle enough so your bladder already had the weight of your internal organs on it. Going to bed with an empty bladder, even if you wet into the diaper, is placing you in a position where ADH production would ensure you didn't wet again. Going to bed with a full bladder is also not ideal as it will irritate the conscious mind and thus, not let you relax to sleep until you empty it, thus leaving the bladder again empty where ADH production triggers you to attempt to keep urine entering the bladder. Following these procedures allows a half full bladder to start weeping as you fall asleep, and since there is no reason not to - your genitalia is already wet - add a little more wetness to the diaper, the body reacts by reducing its ADH production which ensures the bladder is continually filling, like you do while awake. The thickness of the diaper plus the crinkle noise convinces your mind that the diaper can handle the little wetness you add to it, and it has no chance of leaking. This tells your mind that there is no need to disturb your sleep when you need to void. The added aroma of baby powder also reinforces this in your mind where the decision to wake to void is mute, since as a baby, you sated each urge without question, so your mind will also do same since your mind is incapable of adding age as a quotient in decision making - i.e. you make the same decisions today using the same processes you learnt in childhood but with the advantage of more experience. It is not the 'I am x old' that ever comes into the process of decision unless someone else uses the phrases in a derogotary manner i.e. 'you are a big boy/girl not a baby...' OR 'that is the behaviour I'd expect from a 2 year old etc...' and even then, as an ABDL, you are looking to re-experience the same feelings etc of a baby/toddler. You should wake up is a wet diaper but not realise that it is wet until you get up and only notice it from the added weight and not from the feeling of wetness. The wetness feeling is something that should be very comfortable as it is all contained within the diaper, which also makes it a warm and cozy place to be. After you become realiable wet, you can revert to a disposable while asleep if you so wish. If you continue during the day wearing the same night weight diaper only changing it after breakfast, with a slight change in diet and/or adding cod liver oil tablets or similar, there will be some mornings, if you let it, you will mess the diaper either while having breakfast or shortly afterwards. This is the same behaviour you did as a baby/toddler, either pooping in your diaper as you were eating or shortly after eating. Since your night time behaviour has reawoken your baby/toddler actions, plus waiting till after getting fed before changing, it is your mind ignoring the state of your diaper as at that age, it was never your concern - someone else changed it at their schedule, not yours. This will leave you with a choice to either attend to, and change the messy diaper as soon as you mess it, or if you chose to wait till later - you will be telling your subcontious mind that it is ok to poop your diaper which will relax the anal sphincter also while you sleep. Therefore, each night within a 30-45 minutes of you falling asleep, your bladder plus your bowels will void, and this is within your control if you control your bowels daytime. This whole process is recreating the same circumstances you had as a baby/toddler with all the relevant memory triggers: smell baby powder faint smell of urine within the diaper poop (if you chose to use diaper to poop) sound plastic russle of plastic pants / matteress cover touch feel of the bulk of the diaper as you sleep / sit in a chair to eat / being fed feel of the comfort and warmth around your diaper area feel of the plastic pants rubbing the inner thighs. feel of the warmt and slight dampness around your genitalia feel of the soft poop caressing you with each move (if you chose to poop) confusion unaware, due to the natural warmt, to determine if the diaper is wet or not not needed to determine the state of your diaper - as at that age, it was not your problem to address - your job was to luxuriate in the diaper and sate each need as and when they occured, and then, forget about the conclusion to the event - i.e. when you need to wet, you wet and never cared about it. As a result, your body (subconscious mind) adapts to suit what you want rather than your contious mind fighting it. If you let it, your digestive system will change slightly as you poop either as you eat / shortly after you eat similar to a baby. If you let this occur you will have the best, most relaxing and deepest sleep ever with an extremly health digestive system. It also will, due to the body not reversing the perastatic action of the lower intestine and instead voiding as soon as product enters the bowels / by trigger, increase your overall health and appearance as you are no longer absorbing the impurities within digested food. 1
Couchumide35 Posted August 19, 2025 Posted August 19, 2025 Hi, babykieff, i read with attention since months what you write about vasopressin, it's very interesting. I follow the bedwetting training, drinking water before sleeping, i started in december 2024. Now i wake up during the night peeing in my diaper and i close my eyes. I pee a second time few hours after and when i wake up the morning. One or two times in the month, i don't notice anything during the night and my diaper is wet the morning. I hope i'm on the way of bedwetting forever. 1
Couchumide35 Posted August 23, 2025 Posted August 23, 2025 This night i pee in my diaper without waking up, my diaper was warm and full this morning. The training work more often. I changed the amount of water before sleeping (one liter) , so i pee several times during the night. I hope it's the start of the travel for permanent bedwetting. I like the idea of my brain accept one day bedwetting could be something normal for me. I like the idea of progress and the possible point of no return when every day begin a sucess. Babykeiff, i read with attention every advice you gave us and specially informations on vasopressin.
