Hailey pulled up outside of the large house. This would be home for her and her daughter Aurora for the foreseeable future. She was moving in with her new boyfriend Travis and his little one cam. She got out and went to the back seeing aurora fast asleep her plush snow leopard snuggled against her body. She unbuckled her from her car seat and lifted her into her arms. She grabbed her diaper bag and headed to the door ringing the doorbell.

Travis looked out the window as he saw Hailey pull up into the driveway. This was a big step in their relationship. Today, they would be living together. She was different. Everything just seemed easier seeing as she was a single parent too. Travis looked over at his 2 year old son Cam, comfortably sat on the couch, and let out a chuckle. He was thoroughly engrossed in the current episode of Bluey. He wore only a Pampers size 6 diaper and a Paw Patrol shirt.

Travis, himself, was wearing a pair of khaki cargo shorts, a green polo, and a pair tennis shoes. He worked from home 3 days out of the week as an IT Specialist. The other 2 days he was required to be at the office. He loved this schedule considering it gave him plenty of time to spend with Cam.

The doorbell snapped Travis back to reality as he went over and opened the door. "Hey Hails!" He whispered having seen Aurora asleep. "Welcome home!"

“ hey” she said quietly as she smiled at Travis.” You have a beautiful home” she said.” Sorry this little one’s all tired out” she said looking down at Aurora.

"That's okay." Travis said. "If you want, you can put her in the room right next to Cam's. I figured it could be her nursery and you guys could decorate it however you like."

Travis went over to Cam and whispered, "Say hello to Ms. Hailey Came."

Can looked up and saw a lady that he had seen a few times before with his daddy. He liked her. "Um..hewwo Miss Haiwwy." He waved.

“ thanks im sure she’ll be down for a bit longer” Hailey said before she smiled hearing cam and walked over to him.” Hey buddy you look so cute in your little shirt and diapee. What are you watching” she asked him.

"I watching Bwuey." Cam said. "It my favorite." He went back to watching the show, oblivious to a lot around him.

"Hailey why don't you put Aurora down in what will be her nursery, and then we can unload your car." Travis said. "We may even get some alone time." 

At that moment, Cam let out a yawn. It was nearing nap time after all.

Hailey nodded before seeing cam  yawn “ think burnout babies will be down for n a ps soon” she said as she gently ruffled cams hair and took Aurora to her nursery and laid her down in the crib gently covering her with a blanket. She watched her sleep for but before she came back to the living room to join Travis.

Travis followed suit and grabbed Cam as he rubbed his eyes. He carried Cam to his own nursery, putting him down in his crib, covering him, and making sure he had his paci. "Sleep well buddy." Travis said as he left the room, making sure to close the door behind him.

Cam did not feel that tired, but when his daddy laid him down, he no longer had any strength to fight sleep.

"Alrighty! The kiddos are down for naps. How about we unpack the car?" Travis asked. He opened the door and headed out.

“ thanks so much for letting us come Travis” she said as they headed outside and started to grab the bags from the car.” Since it’s almost lunch i think i can cook up something tasty does cam like anything in particular.” She asked.

"It's no problem. I've wanted both of you  here for the longest time. I'm glad it finally happened." Travis said as he pecked Haily on the cheek and grabbed the last of the bags. "One of his favorite lunches is grilled cheese."

Hailey smiled and kissed him back.” Oh good choice i think i have just the recipe of him then” she said smiling.” I hope he’ll like it”

Travis came back inside and put the backs down. "Oh he will. He's a boy that loves his food." He said. "Does Aurora have anything that she likes to eat? Just so I can know."

“ she’s a bit of a picky eater but she loves her fruit purées and oatmeal’s with plenty of fruits” she said as she headed in the kitchen. She grabbed the sourdough bread and multiple blocks of cheese.” Would he be ok with with soup to go with it.” She asked him.

"I think soup would be fine." Travis said as he followed Hailey into the kitchen. "What can I help with Madame Chef?" He waited patiently in front of her doing a mock salute. Travis loved to joke around. He always felt that life was too short to be over serious.

Hailey giggled at Travis salute.” If you could help me grate the cheeses that would be great” she said handing him one of the bricks.” 3 cheese grilled cheese is so good he’s gonna love it” Hailey said.

Travis nodded as he began grating the cheese. "Look, Hailey I am so glad that you came into our lives a year ago. I was so worried to start dating again once Delle passed away even more so knowing that Cam has little to no memories of her due to his age." His voice trailed off. "But, you filled that void. Almost like she sent you to heal us. You are the number one woman to him and me."

“ thanks trav” she said kissing him on the cheek.” I’m happy to be there for you and cam and I’m so happy Aurora gets a man like you and a brother like cam” she said as she finished grating her cheese.” This is gonna Be great for all of us” she said.

Travis nodded. "I agree wholeheartedly." He said as he finished off his cheese. "I think the real question is are we ready for the sheer amount of diapers to be changed?"

Travis chuckled as he began slicing the sourdough.

Hailey laughed.” I didn’t think about that honestly. We’re gonna be knee deep in diapers” she said.” I guess we’ll start after naptime” she said as she warmed up a pan.

"You know, I should be used to changing diapers by now. I'm not." Travis laughs. "Cam thinks my faces are funny. Usually, I try not to breathe in."

He butters the bread on both sides and hands it off to Hailey.

“Oh does little can make bad ones” Hailey asked as she piled the bread a bit and placed it down in the pan before she sprinkled the 3 Cheeses on it.” It doesn’t bother me much but sometimes it can catch you off guard.

Travis nods. "I am definitely caught off guard, but I do it like either of us would. Gotta keep are little ones fresh and clean, even if it means not being able to breathe fresh air during the process." He said. "There's nothing I wouldn't do for my little buddy."

“ agreed whatever it takes for our two little cuties. And I’m more than happy to help you clean cams cute little bottom” she said kissing Travis before she sss the cheese had melted properly and she topped it with the other piece of toasted bread. “ one down 3 to go”

"I may have to take you up on that." Travis said as he plated up the grilled cheese. "You're in luck. I'm pretty sure we have a few cans of tomato soup left."

“ cans” Hailey said laughing.” You doubt my skills” she said grabbing what she would need to make the soup fresh and quickly getting everything going.
