Other than the bed wetting, I don’t think so. I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t potty-trained so it must have happened fairly young.

Part of me wonders if the reason I wet the bed for so long was because I didn’t really want to stop. I never actually grew out of bed wetting, I ended up asking my parents to get me one of those bed wetting alarms and that actually fixed it surprisingly quickly. I guess if I had hated bed wetting I would have asked them for that sooner. The only reason I did ask them was because I was in high school and was embarrassed to go on overnight trips with my friends.

Wow! That's amazing you stopped wetting the bed so quickly. But I don't know why your parents didn't just keep you in Diapers at night. It would have been a lot easier on you. But nevertheless, I guess all it takes is willpower stop bedwetting in your case.

I was in diapers for years until I got the alarm. I certainly don’t blame my parents for doing so. (1) I asked them to and (2) what parent wouldn’t want their kid to stop wetting the bed? They certainly didn’t know I liked wetting the bed and I definitely was let going to tell them

Moms know all.  Got to believe mine knew I wasn’t bothered by bedwetting and (correctly) suspected worse.

I never wet the bed until 8 years ago, when I met my boyfriend (who wets the bed nightly) and he taught me how to wet the bed. I can't wear diapers at night like I do during the day, so he taught me how to enjoy being wet at night.

As I was waking this morning in a wet diaper, I remembered for the first time an occasion at one of my grandparents house, when I was put to bed in a bedroom upstairs close to the stairway, and recall having to wear a diaper.  I recalled my grandma telling me that this is the room where anyone that still wets the bed sleeps, and if you wake needing to go badly, come down the steps and wake me to help you in the bathroom. I thought about this a bit as I was waking and could almost smell again the faint urine smell I remembered from being in that room, so many years ago.

This was the first I remembered this incident, and can't remember if I wet my diaper or not, only that this did happen to me at least on one occasion!

I wet the bed from age 5 to around 8. It started after my parents divorce. I know it was very traumatic for me, the divorce that is. At the time divorce was rare, believe it or not.

It did not take long before my mom realized she couldn't keep up with the extra laundry, she was working two jobs. That was when I was put back in night diapers. They were cloth with plastic panties, which was what they had at the time. Most parents  did not diaper a bed wetter, at least that is what I believe. Looking back I was glad that she chose diapers as a solution.

I have always been under the opposite understanding, at least in the 50's up to the mid to late 60's.  I am 66 and wore diapers to bed for bedwetting until just before age 6.  It wasn't talked about back then like it is today.  No Goodnites or Underjams back then, but bedwetting past the age of 3 was a lot more common than people might think.  Although it wasn't publicly talked about like these days with all the TV commercials for bedwettig products, it was pretty much standard for many parents to keep their kids in night diapers past age 6 if needed, knowing eventually most of them would out grow it.  Then things changed in the 1980's when child psycologists started saying diapers for kids were bad for their self esteem and all that.  Then in the 90's that all changed when Goodnites for bedwetters came out.  Now it was better to let your older kids and teens wear a "diaper-like Pull Up" for comfort and better sleep experience than letting them wet the bed and sleep in cold sheets and pajamas all night.  Thank the power of Kimberly-Clark and P&G for the change in attitude amongst the psycologists and public.

An interesting perspective. We're similar ages and I remember that my father wouldn't permit me to wear a diaper for bedwetting after about age 7 o 8. After that I just had a rubber sheet and a thick washable absorbing pad on top of it. I wet the bed at night into puberty and then only occasionally after that. Bedwetting was treated like a discipline issue for many of us back then which is the way my parents handled it. I think nowdays its treated entirely differently and that few parents punish for it and most parents are okay with using overnight pullups or diapers for overage bedwetting.

Most of my childhood  I didn't wet the bed  it actually started when I was 14 and hasn't stopped   actually  got worse and started being 24/7 accidents when I turned 23 now 42 and it's still the same and Dr's have no clue they claim stress related  but I told them during the whole time I was displaced from my house due to a fire. I was stressed to the max and had 0 need for diapers

Starting bedwetting at 14 indicates a possible psychological or stress related problem. But continuing into your adult years for a long period of time makes me think something else is going on. Do you have any other health problems like diabetes or are you on any meds that might explain it?

No health issues  other then i get migraines alot but thats not a factor according to my previous doctor and only medication i currently take is my migraine pill but again they say no its not causing any issues. ive given up on wanting answers about why i have the issue now im focused on whats the best adult diaper to use to control it  been thinking i want to try the actual cloth washable diapers but im affraid to because if they dont work and i waste the money on them i wont have money to get the disposables that i would need.. Having no job for almost a year is starting to take its toll but im not stressing to much but maybe i should be then i wouldnt need diapers again then it might prove my point to the doctors and my sister who says the issue is caused by stress.

@AngryAllDay: Main issue is finding protective (plastic, PUL, etc.) pants that work for  you.  Also, you may want to slowly pick up cloth diapers and protective pants over time if you can't afford the major initial payment to pick the needed quantity up all at once....  If you have standard bath towels, you might want to pick up some (large) protective pants and diaper pins (or equivalent), and try that at night.  It will (probably) be on the bulky side, but allow you to test while building up what you want for cloth.

I was a bedwetter every night until I was 12. I was sent away to boarding school where I wet but less often. I hated being wet every night and when I was 10 I asked my mother for nappies, I had a sister who was only 12 months old and still in nappies, I think I was also jealous!!!. Mother turned me down and I was just soaked every morning. She put a cheap plastic sheet on the bed but I toss and turn at night and that soon got displaced and ripped, so the mattress was always soaked and reeked of stale wee. At boarding school I wet the bed from the first night and for a few weeks before I started to have dry nights. They put the inevitable red rubber sheet on the bed. I had that until I left at 17. I had mostly dried up by that time but I think I missed it and started wetting, possibly on purpose, but I was wetting constantly from my mid 20s. I also started wearing nappies that I made from old towels and some babies nappies I found in a local pharmacy. I also found plastic pants that fitted me. I still remember the first time I went to the pharmacy to buy them … I was so embarrassed and so excited, I stopped the car in a quiet lane and stripped off to get the plastic pants on. So in my mid 20s I started wearing them during the day, not all the time but quite often, I was a confirmed nappy lover by then. This was also the time of the hormones and I was pretty keen on girls but that is another story.

I did, and wore regular baby diapers to bed until age 5, a few months into kindergarten. I remember at 7 years old telling a couple of my classmates that I wet my bed and wore pull-ups at night, and they were just like "huh, okay". Then at 10, I was on a week-long overnight field trip at an environmental camp, and remember being taken privately into the bathroom before bedtime to change into my Goodnite, and then in the morning to take off and dispose of my wet one.

Wore them until I was 15, and I didn't know a single other kid at school who wore them, though maybe some of them were better at keeping secrets than me.

I would love to have some more info on what your boyfriend did to teach you how to wet the bed? I do wet my diapers at night but I may only wet once then I wake up sometimes and pee and then fall back to sleep. I would love to have a nice smelly pee bed, but my wife doesn't like the smells when it drys . I do love the smells, when I was young my younger brothers wet the bed, and I had stopped, but I would at age 10 get naked and climb into the bed they shared, it was always still wet and had wonderful smells,, got my body sooo excited..

I started bedwetting again when I moved from junior to high school. I struggled wit the school work. A plastic sheet appeared on my bed, but when I continued to wet my bed I was put back in terry towelling nappies and plastic pants. This continued for around 4 years.
