I see this is an old thread, and not gonna quote anyone, but ABU Simple and ABU Simple Ultra is not the same diaper, they don't even have the same fit, something I found out after I had bought Simple, as they were cheaper.

I too have had this happen with several brands of AB/DL diapers and had devised a crude solution. I have used cloth tape or duct tape on the inside of the wing where the tapes bond to the plastic. Usually one strip of tape placed vertically over the bonding strips keeps this from taring away from the wings. I now have duct tape in about 12 different colors to somewhat watch the diaper and it works great!
