When did AB/DL become a fashionable thing for the home?

I don't think I want to see the guy that uses a diaper pin that large ,kinda like when horses crap in the road in central park ,you need a shovel and a clothes pin for your nose .on a side not it's good to know the jolly green giant is a DL ,makes me want to start pounding vegetables !
