Picking up an extra for me and grandmaster342

Jessica woke up already to start the day. Her family was adding another little one today. They had one child already but due to complications she wasn’t able to have another child so they had to adopt.

Ben felt his side of the bed move and opened his eyes. "Can you believe that today is the day?" He asked groggily. "We get another member to our family. Her nursery is all ready for her as well" Ben had always wanted at least 2 children, but Jessica had had complications during delivery. She almost bled out. He almost lost her.  As much as Jessica tried to forget certain events of that day, that day was forever branded into his mind. The doctor had told them that any other conceived child would cause the same result. Since then, they had decided to adopt.

Across the hall, Michael was just waking up. He loved being the focus of his mom and dad's attention. That being said, he was unsure of this new person coming to their home today.

“ yeah I’m so happy today is finally here.” She said as she got up to shower.” Hopefully she fits in well and we can make her happy.” She said

"Me too!" Ben said. "I put in her car seat last night while you were asleep. While you shower, I'll go get Mikey ready." Ben walked across the hall and into his son's room. "Good morning buddy!"

Michael smiled when he saw the familiar face. "Hi daddy! We have stuffs to do today?" He asked.

 

Ben nodded. "We need to get you dressed, then we'll head out." He said as he pulled a pair of shorts and a t-shirt on to Michael. "Let's go see if mommy is out of her shower." Ben carried his son back into the master bedroom.

“ oh honey your a lifesaver.” She said as she headed into the shower and quickly washed her hair and body making sure to brush her teeth as well before heading back to their room and getting dressed.

"You ready, babe?" Ben asked as he walked in, seeing Jessica putting her clothes on. "Michael wanted to see you. Isn't that right?"

 

Michael nodded. "Momma?" He said as he reached toward her.

Jessica quickly got the dress on and smiled.” Hey ther ebuddy you sleep well.” She asked picking him up and kissing him

Mikey nodded. "Yeah!" He said. "Where we goin again?"

 

Ben smiled. He loved seeing Jessica with their son. It was his favorite sight. Soon, they would add a second to it.

“ well after breakfast we have to go to the orphanage and pick up your new baby sister.” She said as she bounced him in her arms

Michael nodded uneasily. "Okay...so I be bwother?" He asked.

"Jess, we should probably head out." Ben said as he grabbed the family member's diaper bag.

“ that’s right baby.” She said.” We can stop for some yummy breakfast after we get sissy ok” She said nodding to ben

Ben got into the SUV and started up the engine. He deposited the diaper bag into the cargo area, and then climbed back into the driver's seat and waited for his wife to get Michael situated.

Michael held on to his mom as she carried him to the car.

Jess carries micheal to the car and got him in his car seat easily handing him his favorite plushy before getting into the passenger seat herself

Ben laced his free hand with Jessica's as he pulled off and headed to the orphanage. "Can you believe we are getting another child?" He asked.

 

Mikey played with his plushy, amused by it's softness.

“ I’m so happy we were able to get another.” She said as she held bens hand” our family’s getting a bit bigger

"I know." Ben began but lowered his voice to a whisper. "I'm just worried about how Mikey will take it. It's always just been us and him."

“ yeah I’ll do my best to try and make it as seamless as possible for him.  I want him to know we still love him just as much as before.”

[grandmaster342]

"Me too." Ben said, but then started laughing. "On a lighter note, we get to get used to changing diapers again." 

"Mommy?" Mikey asked. "Are we there yet?"

Ben continued driving. They were about 20 minutes out from the orphanage.

“ you always did love changing diapers .” She said laighing before hearing Mikey.” I think we’re close honey are you okay back there.” She asked him

Ryan nodded. He felt the urge to use the potty, but knew he could hold it for a bit until they got off of the road. "Okay mommy." Ryan said.

Ben pulled into the orphanage about 20 minutes later. "Alright guys...we're here!" Ben said excitedly. "Everybody out."

Jess got our and went to the back to get Mikey our.” We’re here baby you sure you don’t have to potty.” She asked him

Mikey shook his head. "No mommy. I fine." He said as he grabbed her hand.

Ben ushered his family inside and found the adoption manager's office. (Can you play her?)

“ ok buddy let’s head inside now ok.” She said leading him inside.

Melissa  smiled as she saw the family entering at the scheduled time. She. Gestured to the seats in front of her and gave a gentle wave to their son.” Hi I’m Melissa and I’m the adoption manager. Your little girl should be ready to meet you soon. Her names aurora and she’s a very nice girl. She’s a bit shy but she normally warms up to people after a bit of time. She isn’t potty trained yet as she turned 2 about a month ago. We use cloth diapers here since we have quite a few kids. But she’s a size 4 in disposables. Do you have any questions.” She asked
