Leaving Diapers or Pants around in your Hotel-Room

I think one has to differ between the various diaper-hotel-guests:

Really Incontinent, DL, AB or Freak.

And it makes a difference what you put on display: Pants, diapers, printed diapers or plastic pants.
When I started this topic I mentioned that I may would leave one or two unused blue colored men pull-ups around, and maybe a black PU-pant in the bathroom to dry it. I think, towards the service staff, that would only put me to the category of incontinent people or DL at the max.

Of course there is no need to exhibit any of your things. But I doubt, that the service would be shocked. Annoyed? Maybe.
If one watches German TV-Advertisements today, it’s not uncommon to see ads of woman-pull-ups, which show the big advantage and joy of wearing pull-ups ?
Even ads for sex-toys are popular and normal today – even at times, when the kids are still watching.
I mean: times have changed and people know about incontinence and fetishes. Both are not such a big deal anymore.

Of course: no one needs the Freak. You need professional help in case you behave like a baby towards strangers or in this case towards the service staff.

But what the hotel personal is probably most grateful for: if the room and especially the toilet is not dirty. And I don’t want to know what other not-diaper-people leave around sometimes in their room or their toilet.

You aren't kidding there ,Ic and DL (if they even know about DL is completely fine ,and here's a funny one you may like as far as changing attitudes and times ,we had a financially strapped volunteer fire department 2 years ago give up on bingo nights, casino nights it just doesn't excite people any more or draw them in to gamble that would help fund the keeping the lights on let alone training and equipment needs , so as a sign of the changing times and culture they started having sex toy nights with displays and raffles and Chinese auctions for "toy boxes" , that was a good change they are packing the house every night the do this ,lots of intrest there ! So yeah the times are changing and probably for the better ,i gguess it was like three or four years ago that Trojan as in the condoms came out with different lubes and sex toys that are pretty mainstream there in the condom isle of every pharmacy and some grocery stores even .Of course you cant buy a "decent" diaper anywhere in most stores or pharmacies any more, which to me as an IC is annoying because you have to be prepared for anything shleping supplies around ,because store brand are mostly junk as bad or worse then depend ,they wont be bailing you out in an emergency ! I went to a doctors appointment out of town mother nature decided to throw a blizzard ,i ended up stuck 90 minutes from home for 4 days ,with not enough supplies ,as shocking to the senses as that sounds to those who know me as the guy who over packs for everything and anything to happen ,of all things i ended up borrowing $20 bucks from the hotel manager to get a bag of depend real fit to get me home ,the entire bag didnt get me home everything was soaked with a kiddie wading pool party in my rubber pants . IC & DL are no stranger to hotels,i even ship diapers in advance of my arrival to places I have been going to for years , when I reserve a room they know all the things about me that others don't like like lots of towels, extra sheets, give me a a garbage can not some spitoon sized pail in the bathroom,i double or triple bag my used and put them in the can that they can easily dump when I am checked out with no odors or nastiness headaches for staff ,and I tip well ,but been going there for 20 years so they got to know me and I them so them providing just in case extra products in the room as a courtesy just makes sense .

Just wanted tk put this out there as I've worked at a popular hotel for eight months now. Some hotel staff do get grossed out, but those are the usual types of immature people you'd meet in public. To be honest, myself, I don't mind when I see nappies out. I assume the person is disabled, Ic or just into the lifestyle. As long as the dirty ones make it to the trash, I don't really care. Sometimes I even get a little excited, like "oooh, who's wearing rearz today?" Anyway, I think people should give a shit less about other's thoughts and opinions. Especially when it comes to housekeepers finding padding.

Do you genuinely see that many in a hotel?? I'm intrigued!

When I worked in housekeeping, (I've worked there a total of 6-7 months and did housekeeping for 5 and still sometimes do. I'm now in maintanance and also houseman) I would come across adult diapers maybe three times a month. All in different rooms of course. Now I do way less cleaning and more of fixing things, so I probably wouldn't notice anymore unless it was out in the open.

I bet you never have a clogged toilet in there room LOL.
These days in a wheelchair and with insulin to chill I go for the disabled rooms instead of the ice bucket method.

With most hotels you can get a mini-fridge placed in the room for free if you have meds that require refrigeration simply by asking for it when you register. They might ask to see the prescription or the label on the Meds (usually they don't). This is part of the ADA accommodations required in the US by Federal law, but only if they have those available. Most do because they 'rent' them out for additional income to those simply wanting a fridge for personal use ;)

My son was a diabetic for most of his life (until he got the kidney-pancreas transplant a few years back).   We learned there's really not much point to refrigerating a bottle of insulin once the seal has been broken the first time.

Sure now he tells me ,LOL yeah I know that but i still try to keep it cool force of habit ,i don't know if you had the fun of Lantos and Humalog but i swear the Humalog I could play handball with a vial no big deal ,Lantus vials can't survive 3" onto a pillow ,little exaggeration but i think mine generaly decide there going to break on Saturday afternoon ,because they know my pharmacies is closed on Sunday and though its part of a chain ,the closest open store if I could still drive is 90 minutes by bus it's 6 hours each way ,however there is only one crack of dawn bus down & one back that gets into town around 7:30 PM , somebody needs to make little baby wetsuits to protect them considering dropping and breaking one vial is $900 mistake! I hope he's enjoying his new organs ,use them in good health ,I have been a blood organ tissue donor for 30 years ,it's part of your paperwork at the academy , then when I came up a match would I still be " intrested" I said yes , they had me up date my health history, when they got to developed diabetes the excluded me as it was too risky to my health they said. It was a good 5 years later that i found out I wouldn't let a dog eat me ,when I got sick ,i knocked it out of the park ,now I consider it my duty to take this to the grave ,i haven't had kids so as to not start a genetic chain ,i think you understand the why's?

The funniest story is that we had an old fat cat and the vet calls and says "Your cat has diabetes.   You have to come in so we can teach you how to give it insulin."
I say, "Is it any different than giving the shot to a child?"
The vet says "What?"
I had to go in.   It was a stupid trip.   It's actually easier on the cat.   The thing was so fat and stupid it didn't even notice me giving it the shot.
My son had gone off to college at this point and one morning I gave the cat a shot and then realized the vial didn't look right.    Rather than the bottle of cheap vetrinary R I had been using, I had given the cat a shot of fast acting insulin that my son had left in our fridge.     I called him and asked what he thought and he said just make sure it eats.   The cat was busy stuffing itself full of dry catfood so I figured it wasn't a problem..

I don’t personally travel very often, but when I do, I try to be as discreet as possible if/when I wear and use diapers, including disposal. I’ll even either brings trash bags or go out and buy them while on vacation and try my best to either find the dumpster or a larger, public trash can to dispose of used diapers in.

I’ve worked in the service industry before (I was a mechanic and car rental agent for a little while), so I can sympathize with hotel workers and some of the stuff they have to go through. That’s why I always try and make it as easy as possible for them to do their job.

I travel alot and I'm usually in 3-4 hotels each month. Of course I have my frequent travel membership from each of the big chains. They know my request for bed configuration, floor, and refrigerator. I never have any hassles from the front desk when I check in.

One last (hopefully) thought.  People can say "I'm on vacation and want to relax and not worry about cleaning and all that stuff".  They can also say, "They are housekeeping and it's a low paying menial job that they should be glad they have"  Some might even think housekeeping people are in the country working illegally, and that might even be true.  To me, none of that matters.  Even if some people may not be the collage professionals that others are, they are still people.  Even if all they might be able to find for employment is what some people think of as a low social position jobs (like a dishwasher in a restaurant), we still need to be glad they are there to clean our rooms and make up the beds.  They should be treated with some kind of respect for just coming to work and doing their job.  How would any of us feel if we came back to our room after a day out and found no beds made, all the trash we threw away still in the trash cans, the sink dirty and no toilet paper!  I'm not saying before we leave our rooms for the day we need to make the beds, clean the sink and all that.  I'm just saying if we were in our own homes we wouldn't throw our trash on the floor and leave our house a mess on purpose.  Would we leave out our diapers and pacifiers on the living room coffee table or dining room table or floor for any people who may stop by to visit?  Some might, but just because we are on vacation and paying hotel fees is not an excuse to purposely leave the place a mess or leave out diapers and baby stuff for staff to see for a personal thrill.  They are people just trying to do their jobs and weather some people may think they are low end menial jobs or not, people still need to be treated with some respect.

Exposing yourself to children is hardly equivalent to failing to hide things in your hotel room.    And I suspect that maids do find sex toys in hotel rooms from time to time.

Not really. I would find occasional unused wrapped condom on a bed side table, but that was really it. The three groups that left the most out, during the 2016 campaign, I would find a lot of political signs and such left behind, mostly pro-Trump. There was even a guest that was giving us house keepers (Note: I am lily white, dirty blonde, and bluish gray eyes...) "deportation warnings" that proclaimed that once Trump was elected, we would be round up and shipped back to Mexico. The other guest type is the medical waste assholes, who would leave sharps, used diapers, or bloody bandages on the counters for us. (If you are ever told your room is not ready due to additional cleanup, you have one of these fuckers to thank as we have to bring in a hazardous waste professional.) Finally, you have the "kids" which is our code for people who came to have a party. Those rooms are normally off the list for a few days.

So yeah, as a maid, I saw more diapers than handcuffs, whips, etc... and being part of the community, I was able to quickly tell need-only and enjoyment with possible need.

Wish more people got this. Especially the "illegal" thing. So many times, I was either told to go back to where I came from (So... San Diego?) or asked: "Do you ever get mad that you don't understand what your coworkers are saying?" To which, I often times respond in Greek or Scots Gaelic just to piss them off, then pretend to not understand English the rest of their stay. Yeah I know, I wasn't helping my case, but you do the job long enough and you will fuck with bigots too.

Then there is the crap the average American never even thinks about, like the dudes who leave notes for us, asking how much it would cost for us to come back and give them a blow job, or spread our legs for em. So many people view housekeepers as human trash. I had a PhD when I was working in hotels. I worked there because I got screwed in a divorce settlement and I am stuck living way to far from a university to teach and be able to raise my daughter, and afford the transportation cost to get her to her father every single weekend.

People forget that housekeepers are people who are dealing with real shit. I don't think I am better than my co-workers because I have a crap ton of education, although a lot of my co-workers do occasionally think they are better than me, because they did not get an education and ended up in the same place as me.

Sorry this is becoming a bit of a rant. I had a bad weekend, I work now as a waitress on weekends, substitute teacher during the day on week days, and most nights I am babysitting so people can go live lives, while I pay rent. Bow making does not do that, it is just a little extra (mostly used to pay for my girls hobbies and activities.) Then some dude in a MAGA hat decided he needed to lecture me why he wasn't going to give me a tip, because he thought it was extortion that he is expected to pay for his food then give me a tip for doing my job, and I quote, "That a retarded "n-word" could do while high." So yeah, people treat service workers like human trash all the time, and I am not going to try and make people feel better by saying most are good, the fact is, if they are not a regular, they are most likely going to treat me like trash. Most people who know they are not going to come back to that resturant leave messes, complain in order to try and get free food, will leave rude comments like, "I was going to tip you 20 dollars, but you are a little fat, so I only gave you 10 to help you diet." Or, "We left you our leftovers instead of a tip so that you could have better quality food then what you could afford." (I wait tables at a Claim Jumpers and a hotel restaurant. Such good food that costs 1/8th what they are paying for at Vons... and I can make it at home with less butter and salt and make it to seniorhood.)

One of my favorite customers is a guy who I know hates tips, but he always tips 30% plus. He hates them because he is of the strange (hint: employ sarcasm filter here.) that employers should, gasp, pay their employees instead of shifting that cost burden to customers. See, I am willing to talk to him about why I shouldn't get a tip, because he fucking gets it. I should be paid to do my job, not depend on the generosity of customers to make my ends meet. Before some of you with no hospitality experience say anything, yeah, in California I get minimum wage plus tips, but what most people don't realize is that most chains/hotel restaurants employ an algorithm that  assumes I am tipped 20% per table check. It doesn't verify that I was or wasn't. Then, it takes that total, divides by certain amounts to go to the bus boy, cooks, etc... Which is fine that they get a cut, even though the cooks are typically paid 16+ and there often is no bus boy on most of my shifts, but hey. The problem arises when fuckers don't tip me or tip below 20%...

Let me show you why.... I make 14.30 (This is pretty high pay for a waitress in my area I want to point out, not average.) an hour waiting tables right now. An average shift for me is 8 hours on Saturday night. I will wait approx 4-8 tables an hour, so lets assume I had 6 tables an hour. So 48 tables. At Claim Jumpers, the average check comes out to about 60 dollars, and we will use that, assuming no large parties. So 60x48=2880. Now, 20 percent of that is: 576. Cool, I made a lot in tips right? Nope, first most people only tip 15, not 20. Next, about a third of tippers tip less than 10 dollars, regardless of the cost of the meal. In short, most Saturday nights, I make maybe 200-300 in tips. WHich is still cool... except... of the 576 listed before, the cooks each get a 10% cut. There are four cooks on Saturday night, and the bus boy gets 5% Then they take 15% for taxes... (Theortically I could get these back, but if you are being credited with 600 dollars a shift in tips on top of pay, what tax bracket do you think you end up in?) So 60% of my "tips" never even come to me. 60% of 576 is...  345.60 so assuming I had a good tip night and made 300 dollars.... I am 45.60 cents in the hole... now my take home pay is 14.30 x 8 which is 114 dollars per shift... minus 20% for taxes and such: 92 dollars... minus the 45 dollars... 47 dollars. Yep.

Fucking tip your waitresses, because they are being screwed.

Sorry end of rant.

I leave a new pack of diapers next to the toilet in the bathroom and the used diapers in the trash can. I don’t wrap the used diapers up that are in the trash because they are emptied by room service. Nothing has ever been said about where I leave the diapers or to me. Reusable underpad that I place on the bed to catch any leaks I leave on the bed if not soiled. Soiled mats I fold and place next to the bed in a laundry bag.

I have found this is one of the best places to rant.  I am much more comfortable here sharing my feelings and troubles than those closest to me.  I know part of it is we are all strangers to one another so what do you really have to lose and the other part of it I feel in general we our a caring and accepting community.  The advice and support we share with one another does not just have to be about diapers.

It saddens me to hear these stories.  I just wish I could wave a magic wand and give you some high level job where you did not have to worry about tips.  One thing is for sure I know you would respect those who work underneath you.  I know you gave me sound advice as far as proper diaper etiquette from a housekeeper prospective.  I do not think I will ever be completely discreet because I am honestly happy letting the diapers out the closet so to speak but I do understand how to be respectable while doing so.

I wish I could take the some of the good jobs I have been offered. The problem I run into is I have a borked divorce settlement. My ex gets my daughter EVERY weekend, from 8:30 Friday night to 8:30 Sunday night, and I am required to pay transportation. The nearest University (I have a PhD in Cultural Anthropology and am an Archaeologist) is 40 minutes away before traffic, which would be reasonable, except they don't need me there as they do not offer an Archaeology course, and they have a glut of Cultural Anthropology professors already, most of whom were there when I was an undergrad at that school. (So hopefully some are nearing retirement?) I have a standing offer from Oxford (Mother pulled strings, I probably don't belong there :-p), which wont be there forever, and just had to pass on a USC invitation. England, I can not take because can you imagine the cost and organizational difficulty of putting my daughter on an international flight every Friday, and then picking her up? USC is better, but still several hours of driving every Friday and Sunday, so not realistic.

The judge that screwed me retires in August, so maybe I can get a change of order than, especially since my daughter doesn't even want to go visit her father.. Until then though, I am trapped in this stupid town where these are literally my only job options. I am a substitute teacher during the week, I wait tables at a hotel on week nights, Claim Jumpers on weekends, and I make bows in the downtime.

How awesome that you have an archeology degree.  I am an avid artifact collector in Ohio.  I spend countless hours searching for relics from our ancestors.  I also purchase artifacts which is so challenging because of all the "artifakers" out there.  I love studying the history of the cultures that where around my area.  Ohio is soooooo rich with Native American history especially in the early Woodland period with the Adena and Hoepwell cultures.

Eh, it would be irresponsible of me not to address a concern about disturbing sites, or also to inform you to be aware of NAGPRA rules and regulations both in the finding, and selling of artifacts..

Also, don't buy artifacts, that just encourages grave robbing. I mean, what you are doing is probably fine and harmless, but it is very easy to cross a line and not even know it. (And NAGPRA has some hefty consequences.) Also, report your finds, check with your local museums, they will tell you where to report em.

I only hunt on private lands (fields)  free of any known burial sites which is perfectly fine and legal according to the state of Ohio.

After I started this topic I don't want to withhold from you how I finally behaved in the hotel.

I didn't leave anything obvious lying around :)

Only on the first day I left a used Pull-Up packed in a bag in the garbage can.
Since I want to book the hotel next year, I simply didn't want to take any risks. Otherwise I probably would have done it.

But it was and is in any case interesting to read your opinions to this topic.

I have no desire for exhibitionism. I do what I functionally need to do.

I keep my diapers in a luggage bag which I keep zipped when I am out of the room. Plastic pants which need to be washed get washed and hung up in the bathroom. I'm aware that cleaning staff might come in and see them. I don't particularly care one way or the other.

If I were to get invoiced for the mattress - which has never happened - and I hadn't done any damage to it, then I would fight it.

In this thread I have already posted pictures of how I leave my diapers on the bathroom sink everyday when staying at a hotel.  We have gotten into the do's and don'ts and what is appropriate and what is not.  @GhostGirl shared with us her experiences in the hotel industry and an insiders look of how diapers are viewed.  I leave generous tips everyday and today I thought I would share with you guys the note that was left.  Out of all my hotel stays I have seen this happen maybe twice and never a note left on the bathroom sink.  It makes me believe that the maid appreciates me leaving a tip everyday and really could care less about the diapers on the counter or the trash can.

The note says thank you...have a nice day with a smiley face.

I'm in a hotel almost every week for work. I keep mine in my suitcase or on me at all times. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't curious about house keeping seeing them but I am sensitive to the fact that other people aren't prepared to see such things. I always dispose of used ones with others in mind.
