Real chance to visit a AB/DL store

Recommended Posts

My job has me in a hotel for four days in Albany. I remembered someplace that there is an AB/DL store/boutique ran out of a medical equipment shop called Supply Solutions. I ran a GPS search for it and it is literally just 6 mils from me.  I looked it up on th web and they sell all th designer diapers, plus adult baby stuff, headed by a woman named Bethany. It's sort of strange that it is run out of a real medical supply store like a sub division catering to the AB/DL...

My questions are....  Has anyone here visited that store? Says they encourage visits.  How was it? I will be nervous, because I have never spoke to anyone IRL about my fetish face to face. I'm thinking I want to do this but I find it to be really awkward. I'm guessing Bethany will understand and be ok with it.

Wow...visiting a real AB/DL store will be nice.

Thanks.

I've never been there, but I know that Bethany (Bethwuvz on reddit) is a wonderful person.  Everyone that has visited has had very positive experiences with her and the store.  You can check out her Twitter (https://twitter.com/Bethwuvz) and get a good idea on what to expect when you go.  Have fun!!!!

ETA:  Bethany isn't AB/DL herself, but she is very AB/DL aware and supportive of the community.

First, if you are staying in a hotel for 4 days, I assume you are well out of town.  Not sure where you live or how far away from home you are, but it seems a hotel stay makes you far enough away that no one knows who you are in Albany and you are not likely to run into anyone you know.  Perfect chance to open up a bit about your DL side without anyone really finding out about it.  Only thing I would have in the back of my mind is the type of work you are doing in Albany and if somehow (doubtful) anyone from your work would know you went to this store or be in your hotel room at any time to see what might be laying around.  That, and of course making sure the local job boss in Albany that you will be seeing for your work isn't the husband of the proprietor of that store!  You have your own car or did you fly and have a rental?  Just don't buy so much that you can't bring them home on a plane and for God sakes, make sure you don't charge your purchases there on the company credit card!  I say Go For It!  Like Bettypooh said, fate as placed this oppertunity in your hands!

I don't know what to say when I go in....I saw the store last night and it was closed, but looks like any medical supply shop. Do I walk in there and just ask where the fetish stuff is? LMAO I will be so nervous, because I have never ever been face to face with someone and fully admitted that I am DL and part time AB. I would like to get some of those snap up onesies I see.  I just think I will feel strange walking around in there looking at the diapers while people are looking... Hopefully it's just her.....

I'm tellin ya....I am nervous, but it would be so surreal and great to finally admit to another person face to face that I am what I am.

Oh man....I gotta do this...... so so nervous.

PS. I'm only about 220 miles from my house with my own truck that I drive, so I don't worry about running into anyone I know or be seen at the store.

I go to a abdl store in las Vegas all the time I just say its for my girlfriend which is about half true because she does wear diapers to bed with me and on long car rides I of course leave out the part about me wearing diapers too or getting her into diapers but a lot of people in the store just walk right up and say there abdl and everythings fine but I've always been extremely shy about my abdl side or sex life to me its just not something I like to talk about or even acknowledge in person except to my girlfriend when we are alone

@AluminumBlack I have been to Northshore Care Supply in Buffalo Grove, IL, the Tykables store in Mt. Prospect, IL and Personal Care Medical Supplies in Ft. Wayne, IN as well as many medical supply stores over my years of travel and diaper wearing.  At no time did I have to tell them that I am a diaper lover or offer any information about my sex life.  Nor would you have to come out and say that you are AB.

At Northshore I pick up diapers that I have pre-ordered online.  The friendly receptionist asks your name, retrieves your order from a nearby table, and wishes you a good day. Little different, and probably better, than most order pick ups.

When I walked into Personal Care the lady at the counter greeted me immediately and asked if she could help in some way. I told her that I had read about the store on line and just wanted to see what they had to offer.  The AB type diapers and supplies are in and to the right once you walk in and quite easy to spot.  The lady was helpful without being pushy, friendly without crossing boundaries.  At no time was I made to feel uncomfortable or get a sense that I was anything other than a valued customer.

Tykables caters solely to the AB/DL market and you can feel quite at home there.  The staff is friendly and quite knowledgeable.  And all the fun stuff you may have seen online; cribs, stuffies and the like, are all right there to see.  Lots of clothes to see and you can try them on to check the fit.

I will be back to visit each of these stores.

To tell you to not be nervous is pointless.  You will be and that is just normal and fine.  Just know that these people are in business to make a living helping people like you and I.  They want you to be comfortable and come back again and again.

I have been to the store a few times.  Bethany is great and will make you feel comfortable.  They usually have a great selection of diapers.  I haven't been back since they expanded the AB/DL area.

Being nervous is natural, especially if you have never done anything like this before.  I'm sure the propriater is well aware of nervous people since she sells AB/DL products.  Remember, if they sell those products, they are well aware of AB/DL people and their fetish and they must have a good clientel, otherwise they wouldn't take up shelf space with AB diapers and adult onesies.

Remember, no one there has ever seen you before and no one there knows you.  You are over 200 miles away from where you live and chances are slim to none that anyone you know will see you there, and slim is out of town!  Just try and relax as much as you can, calm the nerves and let it happen on it's own pace.  Once you get past the initial feeling about telling the clerk what you are there for, they will be kind and helpful, just like any other sales person.  They are in business to earn money and make a living.  You are just one more AB/DL to shop in their store for their products.  Sure you will feel strange and nervous when you first go in there, probably anyone would,  but remember, anyone else who might also be in the store shopping will most likely be there for diapers and fetish stuff themselves.  Why worry too much if a stranger you will probably never see again in your life sees you buying adult AB diapers and a onesie?  Yeah, you will be nervous when you first go in but I bet after a few minutes that nervous feeling will start to pass.  I'd work up my courage and go in there even if I was nervous and wouldn't pass up the oppertunity while out of town and this place is so close by.

As Bettypooh said, "If fate places a good opportunity in front of you, take it." This advice, of course, is not limited to some small part of our lives...it should be part of one's general outlook on life.

Who, me, jealous?  Well, yes.  As far as I know there isn't a single walk-in AB/DL shop in the UK.  If only...

It's more of an incontinence shop but I have just been to nappiesrus in aylesbury Buckinghamshire and it's really good

I have been there...it was great.  The interesting stuff is to the far right in the store, just head straight over there!  Bethany is great....chit chats a bit depending on your lead.  She says others in the store are understanding but can’t vouch for that.  Responds well to email contacts and will share her schedule.... she was flexible and stayed a little late when I was held up in Northway traffic ( a local reference you might understand after your 4 days!  I am not local.)

hope you comment on your experience!  Go for it!

I am also wondering how it went..

I have been to the ABU store in MD twice. The first time was to see about exchanging a onesie size. They were so pleasant, even gave me a sample to help for the sizing. Even though I wasn’t able to exchange, they were very helpful.

i went back a week or so ago to get a pack of PeekABU and once again, very pleasant!

its a small storefront with some diapers and onsies. They have a changing area if needed.

felt very comfortable, but there was no one else there.

Well sorry for taking so long, but I ended going to the store yesterday, had a great experience and went back today.  I was nervous at first, dry mouth, kinda edgy, but when I walked in, it was a relief. I was greeted by a young man, whom told me just ask if I need any help, the pointed me to the AB stuff.  I went over there and it was bliss, onsies, snappies, all kinds of designer diapers. Bethany was not there both days and I didn't get to meet her, but the nice, young woman helped me out a lot and even listened to me and how I was a bit nervous and all that. She told many come in for what I do. She showed me the new Halloween onesies they have from Australia.  She was so sweet.  Anyways it was just overall a great experience and I loved it. I also feel that I represented the AB/DL community very well. I was treated with respect and not as a weirdo, As I was talking to the girl she even mentioned teddycon and if I were going.

I expected the AB/DL stuff to be in some dark, hidden corner of the shop like some porno movies hidden away in a video store, but nope, front and center with everything else. People there for actual medical needs walk right past the AB/DL stuff in plain sight and I didn't care at all.

I wonder what "normal" people think when they see adult diapers with all the cute prints, adult onesies and adult binkies? lol....This one old man was sitting on a recliner in the store in direct view of the AB/DL stuff, waiting for his prescription. I don't think h realized what it all was until the girl showed me the new Halloween onesies they got, then he kinda got up and made a small noise of disgust, sort of. I got the vibe he was thinking WTF and didn't want to be there, but I didn't care.

All I know is I never thought AB/DL would be getting mainstream like this....It's big money for medical supply stores, apparently and they told me they sometimes can't keep up in stock. I had no idea this thing is so big......Oh those days I thought it was just me.....

It was a 110% awesome and great experience, I'm so glad I went for it and I will be back there at some points.  This was also the absolute first time I have ever talked to someone in person about my "thing".... I feel much relief and a lot more comfortable within myself.  There are really understanding and great people left in this world....Bethany and her crew are some of them!

Sorry for all the typos and such....I am excited and just want to get this written. Here is a picture of my shopping purchases....I got quite a bit!!

It sounds like you had a great experience! I've been in there twice (I live nearby), once with my wife...and both times I was too scared to strike up a conversation. I was also nervous that the whole store front has a wide open view from the road. I'm such a scardy cat lol. I would have bought some diapers though if only there was some xl in stock. I just ordered some Safaris' and northshores' from Amazon instead. Don't get me wrong, I'll check back eventually.

Hey!!

I've been three times now and love it. Most recent was Halloween night when Beth offered a free sample if showed up in costume. Of course I babied it up and went in with my onesie and an ABU kiddo. It was late in the day, so Beth wasn't there, just the guy and the young woman who runs the front desk.  She is a sweety, glad that I showed up, because apparently I was the only one who showed up in costume. While there I got some ABU lavenders and some Abris, plus another cool onesie. I was hesitant to go in in my baby stuff, but I told myself why not? They know and they invited us, so.... I just did it. I don't like the parking and the window out front either. This isn't my town, but I do think one of my construction work buddies may go by and see my truck out front. It's doubtful, but possible. I had a nice conversation with the young woman about the lifestyle and such...It was real nice, because this is the very very first time I have ever admitted to anyone that I am AB/DL face to face.  I love it there and now feel quite comfortable going in.  I plan to go back Friday night(not sure) and gt a pair of the pull on training pants and Some of the new REARZ purple seduction diapers.

I still find it kinda weird to go to an actual AB/DL shop that is actually a real Medical supply shop with NORMAL customers watching you browse through AB/DL stuff, but.....it is what it is and I like it.   Have fun!

Park in back. Park down the street. Park in front of a more 'tame' business. Invent a good reason to be parked there. Grab an Uber ride.

Always have enough "CYA" prepared before you do anything out of the mainstream or anything you want to remain hidden. That applies everywhere, not just here. Spontaneous responding on touchy subjects rarely does anything good for you ;)

I live in Connecticut and make the trip to visit Supply Solution's and Bethany just about every other month. Their selection of AB/DL diapers and clothing is usually pretty good and the prices are competitive with all of the online retailers. Bethany is a real sweetheart too. Very kind and personable . I enjoy the drive to get there and the products! The looks from the customers sometimes can be interesting however as it is connected to a Medical Supply store and many people just dont know what the products are about, especially when they have prints on the diapers or as the last time i was there, the lady in her early sixties that saw me making my diaper selections and must have noticed that the diapers i was picking were clearly for me as i asked if they had any more Tykables Galactics in size large! Once she heard that, her pace was fast enough to have walked on water! Glad you enjoyed your shopping there AluminumBlack!
