dlsafrica
Today is the culmination of a two year dream I have had -- to organise an Amazing Race. It is only half the size it was meant to be, but hopefully I will get to organise a bigger one in February and then we can do the whole Cape Peninsula. This is just 38 kilometers (at best) of Cape Town with 15 destinations and 5 national monuments -- and a wealth of history compiled into an endline task. I can't wait. I'll give feedback. dlsafrica
We started at Rhodes Memorial, route was : Student Y (UCT), Rondebosch Common, Perseverance Tavern, Company Gardens, Waterfront (Nobel Square, Clock Tower, Chavonnes Cannon Battery Museum - I haven't been to the Waterfront in so long that I've never seen Nobel Square - I hadn't seen any of them, but fell a bit behind the group and got stuck at the clock tower), Cape Town Stadium, the Castle, Rev van Lier's grave in Newlands, the Rondebosch Fountain (which was destroyed by a speeding vehicle in 2015), Baxter Theater, Antioch Church.
