I don't know anything about this guy Dan Savage but it looks to me like unremarkable & pretty sensible advice ..entry-level modern psychotherapy/ basic relationship counselling type stuff...I've got no big issues with it.

Poor guy, his wife sounds awful! I understand being surprised by a partners kink and setting a boundary but damn; she sounds controlling as hell, I feel like despite their new family together seems he might be a lot happier without her.
