Accidental Exposure Thanks To UPS

Recommended Posts

If I wore all the time then I'd have no idea how to keep it a secret from long term house guests or roommates.  Fortunately my spouse knows about my one diaper a day and is fine with it, but even with that, whenever I have guests overnight I have to have a lot more discretion.

Occasionally I'll wear multiple diapers a day for several days.  When that happens my garbage can gets full and heavy quickly, and the smell of used diapers is obvious.  If someone else came along and added some garbage in the can, they'd instantly get a whiff of it.  While I individually bag every used diaper, it isn't that hard to tell what's inside the bag.

Then there's the receipt of diapers from different shipping companies.  Opened or not, these boxes (or bags from ABU) are fairly large.  If I received these boxes on a regular basis, it would be hard to provide a non-diaper explanation to the contents if someone asked.

Stopping at the local UPS store or an other commercial mail receiving agency to pick up packages is OK, but I'd still have to find some way of getting them into the house unnoticed; otherwise, why not just have them delivered to the door?

Although I usually just wear a diaper nowadays by itself,  there are times that I'd have to hide a pacifier, plastic panties, AB/DL clothing, etc.

Kids?  I can't even imagine what it takes.    I'd have to lock the bedroom door every night, lock up my diapers and stuff, have some sort of hiding place for my used diapers until I could throw them away without prying eyes, etc.  And since most kids end up with garbage duty at some point, eventually they'd get suspicious of what the hell is causing the cans to weigh so damn much.

It does take due diligence when having kids.  I almost always take my diapers out of the house with me and dispose of them elsewhere removing them in a plain black backpack.  When I do throw them away in our trash they are always placed in a secondary bag.  My diapers are locked in a closet in the basement and about 14 or so stored under our bed for changing purposes.  Those are also under lock and key in a large gym bag.

Kids, being the curious people they are, will find out everything given enough time. Discretion is impossible but serves to teach them why discretion has a place in life and it's value. So do try to be discreet; just know that in the end it is a hopeless goal you can't fully achieve.

On UPS as well as all other shippers, they are no different than any other business in hiring the cheapest people they can who usually just barely fulfill the job needs. Usually, not always. Mistakes wil happen for sure so you must allow for that. And if you've ever seen the process you will understand that it is more sheervluck and care of the sender than anything else which gets you the goods in usable condition. The shippers do not have the time to care or they would go broke.

Air shipments to hubs are charged by container, so if there is space in a container then ground-shipped items will be packed into that space as there's no sense in doing otherwise. It costs no more and speeds up the shipping process allowing more freight to be handled overall, which means more profit. And when the shipper has it,s own air-fleet, that space gets well used since thre re is almost no difference in the cost of flying a full plane versus a half- full one. Thus most UPS and FedEx freight goes by air unless weight, bulk, or regulations cause it to be best on the ground only. I only pay for air-shipment when a delay could be a huge problem which it normally isn't, and most of the deliveries take about the same time either way. Cheaper and usually good enough.

I hate the expense, but my neighborhood and discretion with family means that I need a POBox. Mine is at a UPS store as that is more convenient. That also seems to help in me getting the things I ship viaUPS faster and in better condition. No proof of that though, just an obversation. I'd save the cost if I could but packages on porches get stolen around here, and their delivery drivers do not follow instructions around here but do whatever is easiest for them. A box may be inside or outside the fence, a 'will call' note for signature delivery may or may not be left, and they've even been seen driving by without stopping. Better at their UPS stores where it always seems to arrive fast and intact.

Unexpected things happen- that is life in itself. I expect exposure and discovery and I'm ready if it happens. That's the only real way you can approach this without failure. If you've planned for a problem it ceases to be a problem, or it becomes a manageable one instead of a disaster. I might blush but I'll get over it. And yeah, I wear diapers, which isn't really a big deal anyway except for me.

I am learning more and more as I am in diapers permanently that hiding the fact I wear then is more of a burden than a positive.  One momentary slip and the diaper is out of the bag and at times it can be a stressful place to be.  Personally I do not mind if my family knows I have "control" issues and need to be in diapers.  My wife however does.  This is something I MUST respect because I love her and I owe it to her.  She certainly has made more sacrifices to accept me wearing diapers permanently than most woman would ever make.

We have prepared for the kids finding out by talking openly about it.  However, she would much rather prefer that the questions never come up.

FedEx has UPS beat (no diapers involved, though). In March I purchased an expensive vacuum on eBay (a new Kirby) and FedEx actually lost the item before it even got shipped out. I was without a vacuum (well, I borrowed one of Mom's Kirbys) for almost a month. Finally, they found it and delivered it. I still don't know how you could lose something that big.

I had a job where we had FEDEX'd a server out to a remote site I was going to do an installation.   They lost it.   I mean, here's a box the size of a refrigerator and FEDEX can't find the thing.

They wanted to pay us off for it.   I told them, no, they really need to find it.   It took two weeks but they finally found it.    Great, I fly 2/3 of the way across the country to install it.   The thing was all preconfigured and ready to go (supposedly).    I fired it up and it goes weird on me.    Call the software vendor.   Looks like the software download cache has timed out.    How long does that take I ask?   14 Days they said.   Oh, yeah, right FEDEX.

I been using Northshore for quite sometime, best service I ever had from a diaper company. You can FedEx ship to local Walgreens , by using that option in shipping. Have five days to pick up. I always set my alarm for reminding me to pickup worked out really well. I actually asked them to double tape the edges . Not Northshore deal just FedEx and some rough handling. Walgreens employee had fixed the box after noticing a hole, had apologized. I appreciated the employee effort to protect my privacy and told her manager of what a good person she was. Just instilled the value of  doing business with Northshore.

I live with 3 housemates. I have gone long periods wearing 24/7 and its very difficult hiding the fact your wearing nappies...

I was having 3 big boxes of incontinence nappies delivered every month often all 3 boxes gaffer taped together. The box is hard to carry in the house as you probably aware nappy packages taped tougher are very heavy. When asked what's in the box at first I was making excuses saying things for my room. But I am getting boxes delivered every month. I then struggle to carry the huge box up the stairs to my bedroom. I then have trouble disposing off the boxes - the boxes have markings such as Molicare - the size marking and quantity in the box.

Then the disposing of used nappies - 4/5 nappies used per day and having to carry a black binliner down every night, past the kitchen where housemates are often socialising.

Always carrying a nappy bag with you... When changing it becomes pretty obvious you're changing your nappy - particularly when in public restrooms - I eat out a lot with housemates.

But this is what got me found out - After I had a bath in the morning I temporally left a used incontinence nappy on the bathroom floor while I got my toothbrush out my bedroom and one of the housemates decided to use the bathroom at that exact minute. I heard the bathroom door shut.

It turns out the other housemates knew I was wearing nappies for awhile - I asked the person who seen the nappy on the bathroom floor how - and it was the plastic crinkle of the nappies (Molicare) I thought they wasn't that loud. They had know for a while.

They are very respectful.. Never heard any underhand comments about it... I openly wear nappies now - I never flaunt wearing them.

Everyone on here should always bear in mind that you cannot beat the law of averages. The longer you wear or the more you wear,  the risk of exposure escalates. As Bettypooh pointed out, the best thing is to be prepared to get found out so you are ready when it happens.

Hugs,

Freta

Do they know you wear nappies out of choice, or do they think you are incontinent?

I would think they thick I wear because of choice. One minute and wearing then not wearing. Over time I think they picked up on it. They never say anything.
