50 years ago, I got into the " 50 possibles " for the BMW touring car test team.

When they explained to us the lengths they went to to lighten the cars, we were all a bit taken aback when they told us that they wanted us to do our part and loose 5 kilos.

Their suggestion was B: keep off the beer - M: no snacks, regular modest meals - W: drink a large glass of warm water before a meal and another cold one after.

I was a fairly trim 6'1" - 165 lb, but without noticing it, I lost the 5 kilos in a fortnight, down to 155 lb, and managed to keep it off for a couple of years.
