Exploring the biology of Amazons and Littles

Recommended Posts

So I got a bit of inspiration from my genetics textbook of all things and decided to draft this short mock paper exploring potential differences between the inhabitants of the diaper dimension. It's up to you if  you want this to be cannon for your universe or not.

Also I am not a specialist in any of the following areas. Just someone doing undergrad work in biology.

Amazon’s v.s. Baseline v.s. Littles

Anatomy, Physiology and Genetics

Genetic and Chromosomal Differences:

For unknown reasons Amazons tend to be Poly-X as the default. 3X in individuals with a Y chromosome and external gonads, 5X and internal gonads otherwise.

Anatomical Differences:

Besides the obvious, such as height, Amazons have greater muscle mass and bone density. One in six has an extra organ that combines functions of both the spleen and kidneys!

The brains of Littles tend to be heavily myelinated and hyper connected compare to either Baselines or Amazon’s. It is generally believed by most neurologists and psychiatrists to be the source of their heightened intelligence and creativity.

One of the most striking reproductive differences is that the vaginal canal of Littles can stretch and displace the lower internal organs which is a big part of the reason why members of all three subspecies can still have children together.

Physiology/Biochemistry:

Little’s tend to produce mitochondria in excess and have faster metabolisms overall which accounts for their heightened energy compared to Baselines and Amazon’s. Most believe this also accounts for their tendency to crave sweet foods. Because they burn glucose at a heightened rate they frequently experience paradoxical crashes exhibiting symptoms not unlike narcolepsy. This heightened glucose intake frequently leads to insulin insensitivity and all too often full-blown diabetes. Many speculate that this heightened metabolism is also responsible for early mortality and the heightened incidence of cancer and genetic disorders in Littles due to the high amount of oxygen anions and other radicals created as a byproduct. These are course known mutagens.

Even though I have NO idea what any of that meant, it's still worth a Like. :)

lol :)

I broke trip?

No, this didn't confuse me or anything. I just didn’t understand it. Biology was never my specialty.

I'm guessing psychology or Lit?

What is v.s.

v or v.

vs or vs.

do you mean versus?

Whimsical in places:  Not sure I see the precedent in the stories for the Poly-X as default for Amazons unless you are saying all Amazons are mainly genetic mutations of human females with an occasional male factor.  Early mortality:  I hope not, that's too real and worrisome. There are DD stories out there that have the Little inherited to the next generation of the Amazon family that adopted them, so it seems longevity could be inherent.

Yeah, I know I'm not a writer, but as a reader, I found some of this a little too  Shake It Up, a common motif I see with your writings.  I don't see this as canon.  Just my thoughts.  It seems the DD world is always under expansion, sort of like a video game that has three radically different endings.

I don't really have a field of expertise per se. I'm more of your... I'm actually not sure what I'd call myself. A Deep Thinker mayhaps? I never went to college and I don't remember much from school. I probably don't have as much "head knowledge" as most people. But I have a POWERFUL imagination (which some consider the TRUE mark of intelligence) and I apply my unique way of thinking, my analytical mind, and my philosopher's soul to every situation in life.

am pretty good at math, though. I don't know a lot of the technical language or advanced formulas (formulae?) But I'm sure I'd be perfectly capable of learning them if I wanted to. :)

So self taught polymath, pretty cool.

One time me and my brother were brainstorming about ideas for a video game and--I've never done this before or since--I started writing down these complex formulas converting dice probabilities into dynamic, multi-faceted equations. For like, 4 hours I was completely lost in the world of numbers. I couldn’t string 2 thoughts together if they weren't about the equations. It was surreal. Almost like what I assume it feels like to be high on drugs, but with Math instead!

I don't have the money or patience for college. Nor do I have any faith in the American educational system.
