Very mad and very depressed

Recommended Posts

So I'm stuck at work for hours longer than I want to be because the big boss won't let me go home and my line leader (one step above a regular worker but below a supervisor/department manager) keep deflecting problems onto me that are not my fault, furthermore my line leader always has to be right, and if you don't do things his way you are wrong; he can't accept that for some things there is more than one right way.

So for the rest of today I'm working in another department,  then on Monday if there are further problems I will have to tell my line leader to cut the crap or I won't keep working in that area.

I'm tired of having to do more than anybody else, and I'm getting yelled at for problems I didn't make.

It's making me feel really mad and really depressed.

It must be nice to be independently wealth Firzen, but the rest (read most) of us who are living paycheck to paycheck, just quitting a job without having another one lined up means you don't make rent or don't get to eat that month.

Tyrant, this sounds like a really frustrating situation. Having a manager who operates under an authoritarian theory is definitely someone that you would want to avoid in the future, but seeing as you are stuck with him now, you just gotta keep an eye on it. When he blames you for something that you didn't do, write it down, including the time and date, so that you have a reference if you need it in the future. If this is something that happens consistently, go above his head and explain what is happening and how this line leader is fucking things up. If you can make a case to the higher ups, you could end up with his job if he can't do it and you can do it better. In any case, save the reference for ammo in case they fire you so that you can show a systematic pattern of abuse by the line leader when you go after them for unemployment benefits.

Good luck.

Well, getting fired at this job takes a lot because they work us hard for minimum wage and we have to be pretty terrible employees on a consistent basis to give them a reason to fire us.

I just dislike people that wanna give crap to the hard workers and basically do nothing about the lazy ones, so they keep being lazy.

I hate to say this, but I see it all too often.  A lot of times, the reward for hard work is more work.  Hang in there, and hopefully somebody will take notice of your efforts and reward you in kind.  Until then, keep in mind that there are several people around on this site and others who are more than happy to lend an ear!

Unfortunately I have experienced what you are describing once already with an ex-supervisor (she works in the office now; if I had to work under her I would definitely lose it and almost did when I couldn't get my medications for 3 weeks (due to a place "losing my file"; they still send my bills even though it's income based and they had no right to do that to me))

Also, Unfortunately my job is pretty much 100% dead end, and the more time and work I would have to put in to POTENTIALLY make it worthwhile is nowhere near a guarantee even if i stay for another 10 years

This has became especially apparent since they couldn't have the decency to give anybody (even the reliable hard workers) a raise all of last year; and as far as I know this year is probably gonna be the same, at best I might get to 10.75 by the end of the year; minimum having gone up to 10.40 In New York State (i was at 10.35 since part way through  2016).

I will definitely go to a better paying factory that is in the next town over probably late June or early July, even if i have to "risk" being a temp for 2 or 3 months (payoff being at least $13.50 an hour when I become direct and potentially a lot more hours).

I also won a decent amount of money (like another paycheck) at the Casino, so that makes my month

This sounds like a less than ideal situation, but it's not the worst.  I would say try to find the way to make more money.  Also, don't gamble more than you can afford to lose.  There's a reason why the house always wins, and it's called "gambling" and not "winning".  Good luck, stay strong, and for what it's worth, keep up the great work!  Try to have pride in what you do.  Not everyone does.  Put out something that you can be proud of.  It makes the work a lot more fulfilling.
