When kids are placed in the home until adoption there is a Stipend that you receive per child like $499 or more per month per child.

Yes but after the actual adoption that money stops coming. The expenses don’t.

I would think the girls would take the news of dad passing better hearing it earlier rather than keeping it from them. And the possibility of them finding out some other way. I am sure a incident where a cop shoots someone is going to make the news. I know that where kids are concerned the news keeps names out but I don’t know if they would keep his name out of it.

At 6pm we were getting ready to eat dinner the tv was on we didn't think nothing of it.

The start was about troubles we were having with another country this time North Korea!

"Local news a man fought with cops and was shot and kilked.

Gerald Davis, they showed a picture of the man.

Precious was setting the table.

"That's daddy, what's he doing on TV?"

Rhonda had tears in her eyes.

"He's dead like mommy now!"

All I could do was close my eyes, we were going to tell them that their daddy was dead but we just didn't want them to find out this way!

"Mommy, daddy did you know about daddy being dead?" Asked Precious?

"Yes I said, we were going to tell you we were just waiting for a better time, when you were more settled in!"

"Precious, Rhonda said that means daddy can't hurt us anymore when we wet!"

"Good I'm glad said Precious, I didn't ever mean to wet it just happens. You aren't going to beat us when we wet are you daddy?"

"No I'm not! Lots of little girls and boys your age still wet the bed!"

"Like who?" Asked Precious!

"Like me said Genesis!"

"Like me said Bryanne"

"Like daddy and me said Candy"

Rhonda said "So you won't get mad at us if we pee our beds?"

"Nope we will help you change your sheets or diapers whatever, help you get yourself cleaned up as well!"

"Your not going to yell and spank us? I'm going to like living here," said Rhonda!

We were enjoying the girls company Rhonda and Precious.

There was a knock at our door.

We didn't think nothing of it with kids like we have there were always kids here.

There was Mr. English and he had a lady with him.

I invited them in "I hate to bother you, but remember when I told you all the neighbors said that the girls mom was dead?

Well that wasn't entirely true.

I would like you to meet their mother.

Seems that their father and mother were in a custody battle he took the kids and moved here from LA.

He told everybody that she had died.

Everybody including the kids believe that."

Rhonda walked in and asked "Who is at the door?"

She saw Mr. English.

And then saw the lady she fainted.

I cought her. Before she hit the ground.

She began to come to, "I saw a ghost, my mom died!

I saw her with Mr. English."

Mr. English asked "Did you ever see your dead mom?"

"Uh no, daddy moved us here and said mommy was Created, her body was burned."

"Cremated I said, but that was a lie your daddy stole you and Precious and told everybody that.

Your mother is very still much alive!"

"So I didn't see a ghost I saw my mommy?"

"Yes, said Mr. English!"

"That's true baby! The lady said, I never stopped looking for you or your sister!

Now I've found you!"

"Does that mean we don't get to live with Mr. And Mrs. Jenson?" Rhonda asked?

"Mommy did Mr. English tell you both Precious and I still wet our beds?"

"No, but that doesn't surprise me I used to wet my bed as well."

"Really?"

"Really I did until I was 15 years old.

So did my older brother Mark and little sister Wanda!"

"So you won't spank us if we wet our beds still?"

"No never!

My momma used to wet hers and her momma used to beat her.

I know you can't help it, you don't do it on purpose!"

"Mr. English, can Precious and me  move back with our mommy?" Asked Rhonda?

"Of course you can Rhonda, you have family.

We got Rhonda and Precious moved back with her mommy!

"It makes more sense now the things that her dad said when the cops went to pick him up he didn't know that we were going to arrest him for child abuse he thought we was there to arrest him for kidnapping his two daughters.

This worked out well for them!

I still have hundreds of kids that needs homes, you two interested?"

"Not in hundreds of kids, no," said Candy!"

Link to comment

"I didn't mean all hundreds of them, one maybe 2 more!"

"I know what you meant said Candy, I just wanted to give you grief, is all. How about 1 more non adoptable?" She asked me?

"1 not adoptable!"

I agreed holding up 1 finger, my index finger!

"Splendid! He said, I do have two brothers, testing the waters?"

"Okay brother's said Candy!"

I looked at her like are you serious?

"Excellent!" Mr. English said.

To me he sounded more like Mr. Burns from the Simpson's than Mr. English!

He made a call and 45 minutes there were two boys delivered Hector and Pablo Guerrero!

Hector was 8 Pablo 6.

"Their mother just can't handle kids at the moment she is getting treatment for an opiate addiction we are working to bring the family back together.

Their mom brought them in and she admitted that she had problems and couldn't care for them the way she liked!

She was tore up inside about it.

The father is unknown.

She has no family to leave them with.

From what we understand she is doing excellent at rehab!

We look to be getting them back together in a month or two based on her progress!

You shouldn't have them for much longer than that.

Unfortunately they both are like the Kids you care for, they both are Bedwetters, so is mom still.

I just can't leave them with anybody.

When separated they are, how shall I put this?

They fight until they are together, kick, scratch, bite, they protect each other.

One of our Fostor parents lost a finger from Pablo.

She was trying to shove something into his mouth, they don't like being forced to do anything!

You two are my lovers!

Give them the best home life you can with plenty of love!

You shouldn't have any problems."

Pablo came in and sat in Candy's lap.

"Are you my new Fostor mom?"

"I guess so until your mom gets better."

"Are you going to try and replace my mommy?"

"I could never do that, your mommy is always going to be your mommy.

I'm just here to love you until she gets back, and can do that in person!"

"Can I have a hug then?"

"You like bear hugs?

Because I like giving big bear hugs!"

She gave him a hug and Candy saw a big smile on his face!

"That's the kind of hugs my mommy used to give, before she got sick with the drugs."

The last part his smile was gone.

"Anytime you miss your mommy you can come see me.

My husband here gives even better bear hugs than I do!"

"He does?" Pablo asked surprised.

"Can I get a bear hug from you?

I gave him one that made Candy's look weak.

"How was that?" I asked?

"Wow, even better!

I like yours better! Sorry Fostor Mom!"

Candy chuckled. "That's quite alright, that's why I let you in on the secret."

Pablo whispered, "it's a secret?"

"Oh yeah, if word got out we would have all kinds of neighbor kids wanting a bear hug!

Daddy would be so busy he wouldn't have time to give you one any more!"

"I promise I won't tell!"

As he crossed his heart like he was taking an oath.

It was everything I could do not to burst out in a snicker!

That was a new twist. Mr English actually took kids out of a home. Well he didn’t take them out as much as he replaced them. The girls took the loss of their dad pretty good. There couldn’t have been much love between them at that point.

We have had Hector and Pablo for about 6 weeks now.

Their mother got a furlough from Rehab for a Saturday.

The first place she visited was a mall.

We met her there with the boys and our brood.

I am not sure who was happier to see who, the boys or their Mom!

We had lunch at the mall, of course the boys and girls all requested pizza.

We had huge slices all around.

I had to admit their mom was pretty cute and had a great personality! We left her and she told us the Van to pick her up was due in a hour.

We left and came home the two boys Hector and Pablo were all smiles, they both mentioned that their mom looked better than she had in a long time!

Upon arrival at home, we had been there about 35 40 minutes. Mr. English arrived.

We usually didn't see him on Saturdays.

"Is everything alright?"

You sometimes can tell when somebody doesnt look happy, I was getting that vibe from Mr. English.

"When you were at the mall meeting with Grace the kids Mom?

Did you notice anybody looking at you suspiciously?"

"No not really, why?"

"The boys mother came up missing.

She was sitting there after you left and two guys approached her.

She looked worried.

The police are sure she knew them, just from the look of panic on her face!

The police want to ask the boys if they might know them."

We called the boys, Hector and Pablo both looked at the photo.

Both pointed to one guy and said "That's Eduardo, moms old boyfriend."

Neither knew the 2nd guy.

The boys didn't know Eduardo's last name he was just Eduardo!

Hector said, "I think my mom used to get her drugs from Eduardo! After seeing him she seemed more druggy!"

Eduardo Ernesto Escabar, one of the cops said.

Goes by Tres E. She probably owed him money.

"We need to move and move fast!" Another cop said.

The cops left Mr. English stayed.

He looked worried.

About an hour later his phone rang.

"Mr. Benjamin English, how may I help you?"

"Uhuh!"

"Dammit!"

"Is everything alright?" Candy asked?

"No, they caught the two guys, they had Grace.

They were caught red handed.

Shooting her full of drugs.

She will probably die, they have used everything, Narcan doesn't seem to work!

She owed them money for her last delivery before she went to rehab.

This sucks!"

"Poor boys, Candy said they looked so happy seeing her today!"

Pablo came in "Did they find my Mom?"

"Yes the police did!"

"She is dead isn't she?"

"We haven't heard that yet!" Said Mr. English.

'I just know it, I feel it!"

His phone rang again "Benjamin English, how may I help you?"

He shut his eyes.

I knew Pablo was right!

Dang you are causing lots of tears today. This is another super sad chapter. Just as the boys think they are going to get their mom back something like this happens.

Link to comment

Pablo was in Candy's lap I had Hector they both had sobbed at learning their mother had been murdered.

These kids were orphans now, wards of the state, in my heart, I knew I wanted to adopt these two boys, it was my brain that needed a bit more convincing.

Mathematically we needed a bigger home.

We were maxed out.

Room wise we were full.

Also working out the Family budget in my head, we could not afford to adopt these two, we could but it would start to cut into our savings!

Feasibly it was as a no.

These two boys need a family, a real one not just a temporary one like we were now.

If I could just win the lottery!

How many times have I heard that one?

Quite a few times even from the teachers I work with!

We got the two boys to sleep and then we got them onto bed. Diapered of course.

Candy asked me "Are we going to adopt these two boys or what?

I know we really can't affodd to but we're the only real parents these two boys know now!"

"We would have to move, I said, we could swing it if we could find a home, that is bigger that isn't in the $600, 000 range, $500,00 range would be perfect.

All the houses I've looked at are in the $600,00 to $755,000 range."

"I don't know I found one for $475,000." Said Candy!

"Where the hell at?" I asked?

"Remember the Wades, older couple?.

They had lived like a half a block from us.

"Yeah,"  I said.

"Mrs. Wade passed on a few months ago.

Mr. Wade is selling his house and moving into something smaller. They only payed $125,000 when they bought it new.

It's almost twice the size of our house!

He's is making $375,000 profit.

He doesn't know that most are selling for almost twice that much.

He thinks it will sell faster this way."

Next morning we visited Mr. Wade.

It hadn't gone on the market yet we talked him down to $450,000 We had a cashiers check for him that day.

We had to wait until he moved out.

He took us through and showed us several things he was planning on leaving furniture wise that he didn't have room at his new place, we thought we were getting it for a steal.

We gave him an extra $10,000 for those items.

A couple of them were antiques.

Him and his wife never had any kids, there was one boy killed on his bike at 12 years old.

He was there only child.

He had been adopted.

He was so glad that we were a mixed family, adopted and natural kids, he felt he was leaving his house in our good hands!

I dont care if you move across country or next door, moving is a righteous pain in the butt.

There is the utilities that you have to deal with, when Brenda and I moved into our home more years ago than I care to admit.

We were both on the electric bill, now I had to prove that Brenda had passed on in order to get my deposit back!

Otherwise it could be seen as one party trying to steal it from another party, same with selling the house she was on the deed!

Getting the internet, cable canceled for this house and hooked up in the new one somebody over 18 had to be there to hook things up, this was times that I was supposed to be at work, I had to take time off from work, telephone.

Then there is the packing and moving only to find you have shattered your grandmothers irreplaceable Turkey  platter that she had had since she got married to your Grandfather in 1936.

She entrusted it to you since you were the safe one to leave it with.

Sorry Grandma!

Then once you get all moved there is the finding a place for everything.

There are always like one or two boxes that you run out a room before you get them unpacked.

Anywhere you put them it makes that area looked cluttered.

There is always something you forget for us we forgot to change the adress of our mail delivery we went almost 10 days without mail.

At our old place there was a full mailbox.

For us we had a hard time finding a place to put our bed we had it facing West in our last home.

East was where the window was and we were getting woke up at sunup.

To dang bright!

The West wall was where the door was and the bathroom door was our bed would of verily fit.

We chose the South wall to put our bed on it just felt weird to be on that wall.

The first few nights I couldn't sleep.

Mental block or what, it just felt odd for me.

The kids loved the house out back they had a big yard and a big tree.

"Daddy, Daddy can we have a swing?"

I didnt get any rest until I put one up.

They played on it mabye a day and a half then it was abandonded!

Now I remember when Brenda and I moved into our house.

Come hell or high water, were never moving in our life again.

Brenda kept that promise, I didnt!

LOL how many times I did that with stuff like this. When it came to their toys, which the same thing happened. I would box some up after they went unused and then after a few months I would take those toys out and box up others. It was like they were always getting new toys.

They tried and tried to find family for Hetor and Pablo.

With a name like Guerrero, that's a pretty common name.

Just when the think they found something it would lead to a dead end.

Of Course Mr. English never gave up, he kept digging and digging.

The boys were getting comfortable in our home, I worried what happens if he does find family?

For the boys it will be like losing their mother all over again.

Mr. English visited the boys and asked if they had ever heard their mother mention any family what so ever.

Hector said "I think I heard my mom mention her dad, or a brother named Jesus."

Unfortunately for Mr. English  Jesus is probably one of the most common given names.

He followed up with a Jesus Guerrero.

Two weeks later they had found a Jesus Guerrero that was a brother to The kids mother.

Problem was he was in prison for murder.

He has been there 5 years already.

He still hasn't been to trial.

Even if found innocent it could still take up to 5 years more before he is released.

In Mexico your guilty until proven innocent and still the wheels of justice move very slowly.

The guy doesn't want any kids around him, he said he is bad news!

He told the person visiting him that his dad Ernesto Guerrero was still alive when he went in, he hasn't heard from him in almost 3 years, he didn't know if he was even alive anymore, he hadn't heard from his sister in months, it was no surprise to him that she was dead as we'll!

Well Ernest Guerrero died two and a half years ago got pneumonia and died.

The family ends there.

The boys are adoptable now if you two are still interested.

Now, I must warn you, if Jesus ever does get out of prison he can claim them he is a blood relative.

That's if he is found innocent.

If found guilty and spends time as a convicted prisoner we can deny that claim him being convicted changes  the course of their destiny!

We started the paperwork for adoption.

About 3 months later we got word that Jesus, had been stabbed while in prison.

He didn't have enough money to pay the guards to keep him safe, Mexican Prisons can be awfully brutal.

He died as a result of the stabs.

Of course in a crowded yard nobody even the guards saw anything as to who had stabbed him.

There is a higher power that keeps lookout over the innocent. They will definitely have to struggle but those boys are destined to be with them.

We went to visit Maria in the psychiatric hospital.

We did love her, still do!

They brought her, in a wheelchair.

She was strapped in, not only that she was drugged up to beat the band, like the old saying, the lights were on but nobody was home!

The nurse stayed with us and explained "She has became so violent that they had to permanently restrain her in the wheelchair.

She got so she was pretty mobile in the chair.

It's pretty silent she was attacking other patients and staff.

We had to sedate her to keep her from attacking others!

Unfortunately this is the minimum amount of sedation to keep her from assaulting other's.

At this level we have to do everything from feeding to bathing her.

Its pretty sad for us to even see her like this, has to be almost torture for you two."

"It is," I said.

"Can I ask you guys a question?

How come Maria looks nothing like either of you?

You are both White and she is Hispanic."

"We were in the process of adopting her, then the kid at school raped her causing her to be like this.

Everything was in place and before the wheels were all turning.

We had to give up our rights so the state would take care of her otherwise we would be stuck with the bill here."

"So she was adopted, or being adopted by you two.

She has no other family I take it?"

"No her mom abandoned her at the hospital after she let some guy rape her at 7 years old.

That's the reason she wears diapers."

"Usually we only let family visit our patients.

I will note that your adoptive parents!

Your welcome to visit anytime!

I wasn't paying attention to Maria, I felt her hand grab mine.

She took it to her lips, I was about ready to get bit I supposed! Instead she kissed my hand looked up and smiled at me and at Candy!

Then it was gone the lights were on but nobody was home again!

That’s so sad. We deal with alot of mental health patients in the hospital here and dealing with them can be extremely hard. You don’t want to use force but at times you need to to keep them from hurting themselves or others. Normally we just hold them down until they can be given an injection of adaivan. That will normally put them out. There are times where it takes several injections but eventually they will give up. After one particular struggle with a very large guy. I told our house supervisor I am really starting to get addicted to that stuff and I have never even had any.

Seeing Maria like that was one of the hardest things I've seen in a long time. Working the court system like I did for several years, certain things stick in your mind.

One case I was privy to a kid of about 16 had been accused of killing somebody, his family were very supportive of him!

The kid wasn't a bad kid, he had been arrested one time before for like shoplifting when he was 10 or 11,  nothing major.

In my opinion the state never proved that he was guilty, at most circumstantial evidence.

He was walking through the dark park and said he almost tripped over the body, that's how he got blood on his shoes that he tracked to the pay phone, he called it in.

He was in the wrong place at the wrong time!

Unfortunately the kid was black, the jury were idiots and found him guilty anyway!

When the verdict was read as Guilty, grandma had a heart attack right there in the courtroom.

He was hauled away and sent to adult prison, grandma died in the hospital!

They lost two family members that day grandma and a son.

A couple of years later they caught two guys who had been on a killing spree in town between them they had killed 29 people!

Over 3 years.

They thought it was funny that some dumb they used the N word got caught and found guilty for something they had done, they also said shows you how well justice works for black people, they used the N word again.

Their son was released and sued the State for millions!

After he got out, the kid now 21, had became institutionalized he had became a real criminal, sometimes guys go in prison and maybe they weren't bad people at first.

After a couple of years they become like the place they were at, they learn to be criminals.

This kid  for real he did kill another, a year or two later.

Unfortunately I don't blame the kid!

This time I blame society.

I'm convinced if the kid hadnt of been railroaded the first time, I'm sure this kid could of been somebody.

Instead he is doing life now for real, he and another inmate just got into an altercation and he beat the other guy to death with his bare hands, another murder at his hands!

The two guys that actually killed the person they were both convicted and given the death penalty.

One took the cowards way out and commited suicide!

The other is using up his appeals and since they haven't executed anybody since they pulled one of the drugs that they administer during lethal injections, with his luck he might die of old age on death row!

I really don’t understand the entire debate about the drugs used to execute someone. The first drug is a anesthetic  like fentenol. Once you are given that you don’t feel a thing. The body is bound to react to anything administered that is designed to stop the heart and lungs but with the anesthesia being used the person doesn’t feel anything. If they did no one would ever subject themselves to surgery of any kind. I had a rod inserted into a broken leg and while it was very painful following the surgery I can’t imagine how much it would have hurt while they were doing it. No way I would have let them do it if I wasn’t under. I am not a big fan of putting someone to death but I also know that as a society there are some crimes committed where the only just punishment is to put them to death.

In Arizona about 5 years ago we had a guy they put to death.

England used to make the first drug that was used.

When they found out that we were using it to put prisoners to death, they pulled the drug.

Last guy they put to death they used something else and the guy gasped and snorted for 35 minutes before he was declared dead.

Since that time there has been no executions in Arizona.

Those that oppose the death penalty, state what was done to the last guy was cruel and unusual punishment!

Thats why he gasped and snorted for 35 minutes!

Didn't stop him from raping and killing a 12 year old girl!

The doctors said he was dead at 3 minutes just his body didn't realize it!

We took our kids out camping again.

Being teachers like the kids we got summers off.

We went up to one of our favorite camping spots outside of Sedona, Arizona called Oak Creek Canyon.

We had a blast the first night the next morning we were awoke to a loud boom!

Waking up I heard the pitter, patter of rain hitting the tent!

It was pouring rain.

I got dressed and drove back into Sedona and picked up breakfast there was no way to cook breakfast without it becoming a soggy mess!

McDonald's had breakfast burritos for a buck each and sausage mcmuffins two for like $3.50.

I got Candy a coffee and we had sodas.

I'm not big on coffee. Something that smells that good brewing but tastes like dirty water, no thanks! If I do have to drink coffee I like a little coffee with my cream and sugar thank you very much!

It rained most of the morning at about 1pm it finally stopped but the campground was muddy.

The kids had their own tent and Candy and I had ours. I remember Candy gets easily aroused while out camping and I didn't want a kid catching us in the middle of having sex, if we got a little noisy!

We cooked dinner and ate it.

Our neighbors in the camp ground next to us had like a million questions.

One was if I was Candy's dad and how come most of our kids looked like neither of us!

We explained that Candy was a college roomate of my daughter of my wife that died.

We wasn't looking but we found each other.

We got married.

We have three kids of our own and have or are adopting most of the rest.

They were interested they had been married for 10 years and for some reason they just never have had kids, it wasnt for the lack of trying, she had gotten pregnant early in their marriage and she miscarried, seems her husband is A+ blood type and she is B- blood type and her body saw the fetus who would be A+ as a foreign antibody and her body attacked it.

That was the only time she had been pregnant.

She took a medication that was supposed to make her super fertile but all it did was keep her periods regular.

We talked to them.

They lived in Flagstaff, Coconino County, but I'm sure there was a counterpart to Mr. English there they were going to look into it.

We enjoyed the night with the kids.

By 10 pm we heard the far off sounds of thunder.

Of course Candy and I enjoyed each other.

We had just got done when the storm hit.

Wind was making our tents pop with the wind.

Soon we had all the kids in the front part of our tent.

Can't say I much blame em!

This was a bad storm you could see the color of the nylon the tent was made of it would glow like midday then go dark and then there was a loud crash as the thunder was almost deafening!

By 1am we had every kid in our side of the tent.

They were scared.

Then the storm moved on by that time there wasn't even enough room in our tent to move we had every kid in bed with us.

Quietly we moved to the other tent where there were no kids.

We had sex again and knowing our kids were all asleep in our tent we made as much noise as the hell we wanted!

Next morning we got up and the sun was shining and Candy and I started cooking our breakfast.

Looking around about half the campers were gone left in the middle of the night.

Things like lanterns and coolers were left behind.

Somebody had abandoned their tent, a limb had came through it and tore a huge hole in it didn't know if it had happened before they left or after.

Even the couple that had talked to us the night before were gone.

Soon the smell of bacon and sausage started waking the kids up by the time the pancakes were cooking they were all up.

It was also awaking the other campers that were left.

Several just broke camp and left.

By the end of breakfast our once normally full camp ground was about a eighth full.

I could hear like a river.

The little creek was swollen and was now a little river with the amount of rain from last night.

We started checking coolers and things left behind.

We kind of put them things all together thinking maybe somebody will be coming back for their things.

6 hours later nobody had returned.

The Rangers came around and I told them what we had done.

They said "You might as well keep the stuff, when storms like this happens we usually take at least two days to clean up after what people leave behind!

Believe it or not I've never seen anybody came back for anything. It's yours now!"

I still felt kind of guilty going through the things. But that night we had steaks and ribs kids drank lots of sodas and I'm sure they all leaked their diapers that night.

Somebody had left a few wine coolers behind I had to admit Candy and I felt no pain that night.

The Park Rangers were right nobody had returned to pick anything up.

That did surprise me! Next day the Park Rangers were there bright and early and they cleaned debris away from the campground including the tent that had the limb come through it.

We should of checked that out a little better there was a guy trapped under that limb.

They hauled him out by ambulance.

I thought I had heard moaning last night, I just assumed it was just a wild animal.

It was a fellow human being.

Turns out he was with about 3 other guys and the had been smoking some heavy duty pot.

After the guy was trapped his buddies took off thinking that he was dead and They didn't want to get arrested for smoking pot.

I used it as a lesson for my kids that using pot makes you make poor decisions.

After that bad stormy night it was great.

Got a few showers here and there nothing what I would call a rainstorm!

We returned to Phoenix, none of us wanted to it had been in the 60- 80's in Sedona Phoenix was already 112° and it was just 2pm when we got back!

This really reminded me of a camping trip I took with my 4 kids. I have a good friend who has 40 acres in the mountains in Colorado. At that time I was still using a tent. We got up there and had everything set up and had a great evening. Just before going to bed we got a really bad storm and the rain was just pouring down and the tent and everything in it got soaked. We all ended up sleeping in the truck. At some time during the night the rain turned into snow and when we got up in the morning there was about 6 inches of snow. Being Colorado thought the sun came out and the temperatures got up into the 80’s . It would have been really easy to just pack everything up and leave but we stuck it out. I got everything dried out and we all had a fantastic time. The fishing up there is amazing.

I took that same camping trip to Oak Creek Canyon. Got there it was in the high 40's saw an occasional teeny tiny little flake went to bed and when we woke up the next morning about 6 inches of snow! I had a thin sleeping bag when we went to Wallyworld I got me a sleeping bag that was good down to freezing. Snowed a couple of more inches that night it was a winter camp trip with the scouts. We had one kid that fell in the creek. Lucky he didnt end up with Pneumonia!

Every February we would go winter camping with the scouts. It’s called Klondike and we would dig out snow caves to sleep in. You would get your polar bear badge if the temperature dropped below 0. Sorry to say I earned a few of those. But a good bag was a necessity.

After getting home we put our gear away including new acquisitions from the things that were left by our fellow campers abandoning them like a new cooler that plugged in and was like a fridge, new lanterns some that were gas or propane, one that was battery powered; we got a pup tent that we found blew up in a tree, held two people, two new sleeping bags, brand new!

A camp stove and a griddle that we could cook like pancakes or grill on.

We came back with more than what we took in the first place.

Now that we were back and had some privacy since the kids ended up in our tent Candy and I we made love in our bedroom without having to worry about kids!

We got our paperwork that was in the mail we had to go back to work on Monday August 19, we started getting kids on Friday August 23, that was meet your teacher night.

School started August 25, the following Monday. I searched my soul and thought about resigning my position, I knew I still had about 4 years and several months until l hit age 65 and could retire and receive Social Security.

I was tired of working every year it got harder and harder to go back to work after having almost 3 months of summer vacation!

It sucked the life out of Me!

Until I'm at least 65 years old, I got to go back to work!

I could see the light at the end of the tunnel, but it was still a hellava ways off!

Wished I could somehow become permanently disabled! That way I could get more than if I just retired Now!

Almost $300 more a month.

I wouldnt have to wait until I'm 65 or 67 or 72 to max out!

Thats 12 more almost 13 more years!

Now l know why senior citizens commit suicide.

Waiting for Social Security to max out drives them nuts!

It sucks getting old. I am actually retired from two jobs so I really don’t have to work. But just sitting around the house was driving me crazy so I went back to work again.

I decided until I'm at least 62 years old I still have to go to work, I might not like it but that's the rules.

62 is the first year I'm eligible to collect Social Security.

I reach where I'm 68 and 8 months that's when I'm supposed to retire.

At 72 I max out.

Right now 62 is my goal 3 years from now.

Candy went back to set her classroom up and she took our kids to help her!

There was a new teacher in the room next to Candy's. Sarah Tidwell was young her first year out of college.

She was still in the let's save the world mode.

That's when your young and idealistic.

Then by the 2nd or 3rd year you're starting to realize you can't help anybody if they dont want your help.

Your not going to have the future President of the United States in your class.

Your going to have one or two very bright kids.

Maybe they will discover a cure for cancer but they are never going to be really famous!

The kid that is the class clown he might be the next Robin Williams.

But usually that is stifled by the time they get in their teen years. Teachers telling the kid he isn't funny.

Robin Williams sites a teacher for helping him become famous.

She let him be funny during certain times and he had to be serious about his work the rest of the time.

She didn't stifle the funny out of him completely!

Look at what he did.

Candy was getting Alan Carstairs this year.

He was the class clown last year.

She had been thinking about how to deal with this kid I offered Robin Williams teachers way of dealing with him, Candy was looking forward to teaching Alan this year.

We also got Hecter and Pablo registered in school.

For about 20 minutes Pablo was in Candy's class.

When she went to the principal who was also new and said she couldn't have him in her class.

He did everything but call her a racist for not wanting Pablo Guerrero in her class.

After he was done ranting.

She asked him to look at his registration card, "Recognize any names on the card?"

"Oh sorry!" Was all he said, Candy decided right there he didn't have her vote for Principal of the year!
