Search Engine Problems

When I use the search engine and go to one of the items presented. I cannot navigate out of it by using the "back" function in my browser or the backspace key. I have to leave the site and two the whole search over again if I wish to get back to the search results and look at another item. I use windows 7 and FireFox 56.2. I refuse to use  Quantum until they have "show/hide passwords" and until it delievers to me the speed it promises, it is slower than the previous build
