Last week I came down with a horrible case of strep throught and had major coughing, fever and just plain out of it. Took a week to recover, but When I made the drive out to the doctor for help I even thought about putting on a diaper(A depends plastic backed) nothing too obvious, just to wear inside a doctors office like for a real need. I threw some in the car, just in case I decided to do it. Even though I felt like crap and had no sexual feeling over this I still were tempted. I never did.

I've been sick for about two weeks with stomach problems, and have had a couple messy accidents so I have been diapered up any time I leave the house just in case. I've visited the doctor twice now with a thin one on, very obviously sticking above my shorts, and when being examined he didn't say anything at all about it either time, just pulled the top town slightly to feel my lower abdomen. I had my excuse of having a few legit accidents ready to go and everything.

Maybe it was understood that that was why I was wearing one, but I am surprised nothing was said.

Some time back when I was being treated for a UTI, I went into see the doc several times wearing a diaper, and he expected it, even encouraged it after the first visit suggesting I should use these till this issue got cleared up.

The point, they are very common for use with certain issues, especially with older folks, so why would a clinic or medical staff be concerned about seeing someone wearing one??

if it is any help, I've worn a tena overnight pad to my urologist appointment. Nothing was said. I'm not listed as incontinent, but I did have a ureter stent in.

My urologist has diapers and pullups in the cabinets in the exam room. I've see them many times when they open the cabinets.

I am incontinent so always wear nappies when I visit the doctors. My notes state clearly that I am incontinent and enuretic. The Doctor occasionally mentions this and asks if I am coping OK. I see the continence nurse periodically and the diabetic nurse about four times a year and am always in nappies at these appointments.

The only time my doctors mentions my diapers during my yearly exam and the rubber glove will be involved. She will ask if I have a new diaper to change into.

I've gone to the doctors many times wearing diapers. Not a problem for me as I am incontinent and a DL. I've been incontinent now for about three years. I've also been into hospital where the staff asked medical history and looked surprised that I wear diapers. They wanted to use a catheter on me while I was in hospital but I explained catheters no longer work because of my bladder sphincter being damaged. They looked through my history and saw the operation I had and agreed with me. After this initial conflict the staff were happy for me to change myself while in hospital and they supplied all of my requirements. Hospital diapers stuck.

Hi,

Today I got an i.m. injection in the diapered area while visting my general practioner. One time I forgot enough spare diapers. I removed my full diaper and tried to make it home without, but then leaked terribly 5 min before coming home. Luckily it was dark and the streets were nearly empty. That was the last proof of having become incontinent.

I actually made a point of always visiting the doctor's office in a diaper when I started wearing 24/7, to convince myself that it was real and no matter what the risk of being seen was, I had to do it.

Now I always wear diapers to the doctor's office because I'm dependent on them, but one comes from the other.

I wore one all through colonoscopy prep (just in case I didn't make it to the toilet).   I'm sure I could have explained it that way when I went in for the procedure, but in fact, they give you a gown and leave the room while you change so they didn't even know.    About the only time I've not worn a diaper to the doctor in years is when I knew I was going to get the finger-in-the-ass treatment by my GP.

I have a history of bedwetting and over active bladder/ short and abrupt warning signals. I think, given those circumstances, I would be able to easily just thwart any types of unreasonable questioning.

I think many people underestimate how much crazy doctors see. My wife is a primary care provider... the anxiety, depression, and other mental health stuff she deals with at her job makes something like being ABDL seem pretty mild.

I've always taken the approach of lie to the cops, but never lie to your doctor. In that light, I have worn a diaper to every appointment I've been at for over 10 years now. And from day 1 i told my doc the truth - that i know it is wierd, but i wear diapers by choice. And it has never been an issue with her or any of the other specialists or providers I have seen. If it was, I'd find a new provider!

I think so much of it comes down to how you handle it. I don't get turned on by wearing to an appointment, it's not a thrill, I'm not pushing anything on anyone. It's just what I wear. I'm not afraid to talk about it if they had questions, and some have so we discussed it as needed.

I've recently been diagnosed with nocturia and OAB, so my doc and I talked about options and we both agreed to just skip trying drugs and just use my diapers to manage it. Being honest made that conversation easy.

It is worth noting that everyone is different, and I respect those who don't wear often, and would never wear to a doctor's office. If it makes you nervous and uncomfortable, don't do it.

I wish I wore one last time I was in the hospital.  My appendix needed to be removed.  I was so doped up on meds, I woke up in the middle of the night to soiled bed.   First time that has happened. Felt bad for the nurse.

Going far back to my childhood, even after I was toilet trained, going to a doctor or dentist was one of those 'special events' for which Mom would always nicely ask me to wear a 'just-in-case' diaper. Wearing diapers in public did not embarrass me. Besides my Mom and my pediatrician often discussed my tiny over-active bladder while I was sitting with them. Strangely although normally I could avoid wetting a just-in-case diaper, about half the time I would wet it while at the pediatrician. Mom would keep on talking to the doctor as she changed me. And that was not just when I was a little kid. The final time Mom changed me in a doctor's office I was nearly 12 and less than 2 months before I hit puberty.

At puberty I reverted to bedwetting. That was when Mom taught me to pin on my own diapers. Post puberty I have needed to change myself in doctor's offices.

If you are sick you have a good reason to be wearing a diaper without telling that you wear just because you like them.  Makes it easy to just say its a temporary just in case thing while you are sick.

I am 24/7 just for convenience, but the one time I don't wear is going to the doctors, just not worth the hassle. I'm sure I could go and if they asked tell them the truth and that would probably be it.

Unless it is a medical issue then they shouldn't pry further. As for psychological they have no pull unless you are physically harming yourself or others. Go find another doctor if they want to see a psychologist for wearing diapers just because you like it.

Just don't lie about it and that should make it a non issue at the doctor. Lie about it and then your going deep down the rabbit hole.
