Placement of your diaper for guys

15 posts in this topic

This might be an odd question, but as someone who is picking this back up from trying it many years ago, it seems like there might be a right and wrong way to "place" your diaper as a guy. I might be making the mistake of getting the diaper too snug around my penis. It seems like I should leave a little room when putting it on. I like when the diaper is higher waisted and snug, so I am wondering if im pulling it up to tightly against my penis and possibly wetting one part of the diaper only or not allowing a full discharge when urinating.

What do you guys do? Is there a "best practice" for this sort of thing?

I think it all depends (no pun intended) on what makes you comfortable down there. Both for when you're dry and when you need to pee. I don't know that there's a best practice for all men.

It really is about what makes you comfortable.  Something that helps to channel your pee pee down your diaper so to speak is folding it in half before you put it on.  The fold helps create a channel and when you put your diaper on it does feel as if you have more room.  There is a balance to the right tightness versus the right amount of looseness.  Another option is using a booster pad in your diaper.  Place it high in your diaper and insure it goes around your wee wee when you pull your diaper up.  As the booster gets wet it wicks the pee pee down the booster much faster than a diaper.  Hope this helps.  Honestly  as a man,  the front of your diaper is always going to be used more...it's just simple anatomy.

Since I wear cloth diapers, I make a soaker panel out of Zorb encased between two layers of Birdseye cloth. Zorb absorbs really fast and holds moisture well. For diapers, I use diaper flannel flats and PUL waterproof pants. It doesn't matter which way you "point," because the Zorb panel spreads the wetness evenly.

The only "issue" I am finding with the wetness spreading is after 2 or 3 soaks, my entire bottom is wet, and self cleaning up isn't the most fun either. So perhaps having it in one area of the diaper is best.

It's all about placement. Some guys point down, some point up. I'm in a poor zone because neither one is great for me personally. Since I'm bowel incontinent, I don't want to point down, and get my wee wee in all of that. But I'm young so I'm prone to erections when pointing up. And that can itself lead to leaks if I'm not careful. I'm more comfortable pointing down, but it's not good for me to do that. If you want to use the most of your diaper pointing down is best, some point as far back as they can to use it all up. But as mark said, since we're guys the majority of our pee will end up in the front and or crotch of our diapers. That's just it.

When I wear a Diaper, I always put 2 Abena Maxi soaker pads in , lay on top of them point my penis down and print the pad over my penis and then diaper up. Nice and SNug and your urine will soak the whole diaper.

Like everyone else has already said, it all comes down to personal preference. For me personally, the way I diaper is I point downwards, then I'll tape the diaper snug around the waist and legs, but leave room between my crotch area and the diaper. It stays sealed up well (for the most part), but gives room to breathe and makes it a little easier to move my legs around. Plus, if I wet or mess, the diaper sags a little more and it doesn't feel like the mess is right up against my skin.

For me I worry about the front around the crotch. Best bet is to try to keep your penis pointed down and if it comes up a little you should be okay. Anytime I've worn a women's diaper I've had to worry about leaking as most of the protection is in the bottom/back

If you are relaxing in your room you can always lay on your stomach and pee yourself. It is a good practice to alternate between sitting, standing, and lying down to use your diaper to its maximum potential.

As I get older, I've gone from pointing sideways/up to straight ahead and sometimes down.  Unfortunately, the few times I peed in public, I got a rise.

I pay no specific attention to it to be honest, I leave it as is. The one thing I do know in general the front of my diaper gets saturated first. I’ve tried to point it down but I found it very uncomfortable when the little guy wanted to stand up and the diaper starts to leak sooner when pointing down. When pointing up the front gets wet first and gravity does the rest spreading the moisture throughout your diaper.

I attribute it to jockey underwear, but who knows.  Whatever, I too am uncomfortable pointing down in a diaper.  During the day it’s not so much a problem, but at night up is instant leak in a disposable.  I like to find a solution.

I wonder if manufacturers could create some sort of "pouch" for males that helps distribute the pee down and across the entire diaper.  Would eliminate the pointing direction (at least when you aren't hard)

I find if I place my willy downwards like a little tap best. Upwards causes too many leaks downwards it fills the nappy quite naturally
