The best thing you can do is shower right after. If you just sit in it, you are basically sitting in your own filth.

The only way you would get an infection from your own poop is if you sat in it for 8+ hours. It takes this long for foreign bacteria to take hold and multiply enough to then spread in towards your body to give you an infection. Of course, by then you will also have a massive rash since your skin isn't used to the ph/

I have been producing messy diapers for years, worst case was a rash after wearing it for 3 hours. Other than that one time, no big deal.

Think about this...babies generally spend the first 2+ years of their lives pooping in diapers. If they don't have any problem with infection, why would you? Clean yourself up in a reasonable amount of time and you'll be fine.

Use a powder or cream to keep your skin from getting rashes if you're wearing a messy one long-term.

The only possible real infection risk is a UTI (Urinary Tract Infection). Keep your poop away from the front of the diaper (or if you do, clean up ASAP) and you'll be clear of this.

Yea, as long as you put lotion and baby powder in, you will be fine, I do this sometimes, I can sleep in it and be fine. And if you do get a rash just air it out, and put lotion on for a day or two and you'll be fine

if you don't stay in it for an absurdly long length of time, pretty much no chance of even a simple rash, at least that's how I think about it since I don't go 24/7 and I'm more likely to get irritation from simple sweat than anything else
