Little BabyDoll Christine
Rubber panties. THAT is what makes cloth diapers work You can use either pul-on or shap-on since most good snap-on brands like Gary (LL Medico, Mountain View) have the snap closures toward the front Also, another advantage of cloth diapers is that they wick wetness away and try to spread it evenly, where, as I understand it paper diapers do not do that much wicking but rely on vitrification of urin via the SAP, which then holds it where it is. This means that any given area can be oversaturated. 36 years ago, before they started using SAP tomake throw-aways skinny, the sides of the diapers were also made of absorbent manterisl that was almost as thick as the center. INFANTAE PRESS did an article about the matter in the mid '80's which said that as disposables become more prominent, especially the SAP-based ones which were becoming the standard in Scandinvia and were horrible, the quality of the diaper experience would deteriorate, espeiclally since thwow-aways were becoming the norm for baby diapers and very few persons would have worn really good diapers and babies. Given the anti-diaper bias in this culture, with them becoming thinner and thinner and less "diaper-y I would not be surprised to hear baby diapers being referred to as "briefs", with that term becoming predominant in the 2030's because calling them "diapers" will be seen as demeaning as if a 9-month-old could care 1 Link to comment
