Using towels as diapers

Recommended Posts

Someone suggested to me on this board about a year or so back that I buy terry towels to use as diapers. Considering I can't afford cloth birdseye diapers as easily as I once did, it's beginning to sound like a really good idea.

With their large size range per item, upwards of 9" waist size. LL Medico is very accommodating along this lines. For instance, if you have a 36" waist there are 5 sizes that will fit you. The other variables are Crotch width and side seam length

Like a lot of people here, I started by using towels as diapers and they are perfectly suitable. Now, I order diaper flannel and make my own soaker panels simply because terry cloth towels are a bit bulky. The system I use now is more streamlined and by using soaker panels made from Zorb, it is very effective when it comes to a thin layer absorbing a lot of moisture. Besides, diaper flannel is exactly what I wore when I was a baby.

I don't know what your budget allows, but Wazzoodle has a large selection of cloth materials for making flats. You can still you the terry towels, but place a folded flat made of flannel, birdseye or gauze would feel better and help the terry towel hold more. Good luck and I hope your situation improves soon.
