This story has been making the rounds for a while now, typically without source. The reason is someone reads this outlandish story, and reposts in on their own news site; again, without a source. I think the origin was revealed to be a Japanese tabloid, or satirical news site (the irony now being, I can't remember it to cite it). While the internet is making it easier to distribute fallacious stories, it also makes these articles more easily debunked.
