DiaperBigBoy
I was wondering if Bedwetting is really a type of Incontience, or it's under it's own topic. What do doctors usually think of people who wet the bed? The only reason I ask, if I was at my doctor office, and they did some test, but they didn't find anything. Can bed wetting be psychology, or is it just a reaction your body does without knowing. Link to comment

InDpnds
I'd say bedwetting is definitely incontinence, which is the inability to control elimination. I know from my own experience that kids (or adults) who wake up wet had no intention of wetting, and are completely unaware they're doing it until it's too late. Wet sheets are just as big a deal as wet pants. As for the doctors, I wouldn't think a doctor would disregard bedwetting any more than they would disregard a patient who came in with any other physical symptom. Link to comment

kevindhca
Bedwetting may or may not be incontinence depending on the reasons it's happening. If the urinary tract system works properly and the bedwetting is caused by something like very deep sleep, then it wouldn't be classified as incontinence. The trouble would be described as a sleep condition. An urologist would have no answers, and would refer to a sleep specialist. 1 Link to comment

DonsbabyKS
Your doctor is simply specifying what type of incontinence you have, there are several and many of us have a combination, or mixed incontinence. Link to comment
Baby Brian
Bedwetting (while asleep) is considered a type of incontinence. The medical community calls it enuresis. Link to comment
