Bettypooh
I may be the oldest childhood bedwetter here so that got me wondering- how old were you when your childhood bedwetting stopped? PLEASE NOTE that this question is only for those who did eventually stop involuntarily bedwetting while not being under the influence of anything that may have affected your bladder control such as medicines or alcohol Also, this doesn't include one-time bedwettings that happened after you considered yourself "dry" at night, as almost everyone has bedwetting accidents once in awhile throughout life Please start with that age and add some thoughts about it if you wish The last time I wet my bed was when I was 22 (though it happened later many times when I came home drunk which doesn't count here). I've never had good bladder control, wetting my bed more often than not till I was 14 or 15, then tapering off slowly as I grew up. When I reached 20 I'd still wet my bed 2-3 times a month, sometimes several days in a row I didn't consider myself reliably dry till my bed stayed totally dry for about 6 weeks in a row when I was 22. I still wet my bed slightly a few times a year, and really flooded it once or twice a year over that for the rest of my life though I could generally count on waking up dry unless I'd been drinking the night before, in which case it was a 50-50 chance My persistent bedwetting is what got me back into diapers and on looking back I am glad that happened or I might not have rediscovered the joy of being in diapers once again Bettypooh 2 Link to comment
Angela Bauer
According to my Mom and Granny, I was day dry at 30 months and night dry at 33 months. I was old enough to remember my 2 younger sisters being toilet trained. They wore cotton training pants for a couple of months between being diapers and considered reliably dry. Mom says she used the same system on me. So from then on I did not need diapers for bed until I reached puberty, at 12. That was when I reverted to bedwetting. From then on I have always worn diapers to bed. 1 Link to comment
Honu
I was a regular bedwetter through age 14 and partially into 15. It was bad because my parents just ignored it and if any thing was said about it, it was in the context of it holding me back from things I wanted to do. When I was 6 I came to the conclusion that things would be better if I could just wear diapers to bed as I had no control of this. As a scientist, I now have a theory. Most people stop producing urine when they are asleep. Their bodies cool down and they don't need to pee until after they wake up. I know that I'm different. I create a lot of body heat while I sleep and what I learned at 15 was to wake up. I either wake up and pee in the toilet, wake up and wet my diapers now, or wet while I'm asleep. I can't get through a night without peeing somewhere! Link to comment
Eir
I bedwet until I was in Junior High, I stopped right before my first Wintercamp. My parents bought me a high powerd water blaster for waking up with a dry pullup 30 consecutive mornings. It took 2.5 months, but I stopped bedwetting, and had something to blast coke cans off fence poles with. Link to comment
chad334
If I remember correctly I stopped wetting the bed a little after my 15th Birthday. Link to comment
diapered1964
Mom said I was toliet trained by the age of 2, but I remember wetting the bed at age's 5, 7, & 9 and again for a few months around 11, by the time I was 16 I was wetting the bed at lease once a week and by the time I turned 30 I was wetting the bed nightly. So I guess I was 2 when I stopped wetting the bed nightly and started wetting to bed again when I was 5. Now I had myself checked out by 3 different doctors back when I was 30 and wetting the bed, was told I had a spastic bladder and the nerves that controled the bladder where dead and it could maybe be fixed with an operation. I fogoed the operation ans stuck with diapers. Now 48 and can sleep most night without wetting the bed. Link to comment
rusty pins
I was a bedwetter until I was about 6 years old. I'm not sure exactly when I stopped or if I slowed down first or not. I just remember every night my mom would ask me to bring her a diaper from the drawer, then diaper me in the living room standing up in front of her. She already had the diaper pins and plastic pants so I don't know why I had to bring her my diaper. Maybe it was her way of involving me in the process so I would be part of it and more accepting of it. I didn't mind wearing diapers to bed when I was younger. I just accepted it. I do remember just before I turned 6 we were on vacation visiting relatives down south and staying at their house. My mom pulled out the diapers from the suitcase and I remember being upset and telling her I didn't want to wear diapers! I must have been having dry nights at home and maybe even not wearing them to bed at home, perhaps as a trial by my parents to see if I could go without them. Maybe I was still wearing the diapers at home and just hit and miss with bedwetting. I really don't remember. Anyway, my mom insisted I wear them because she said she couldn't have me wetting someone elses beds. I guess I was upset that my cousins would find out I wore diapers and plastic pants to bed. That is probably the last time I remember wearing diapers to bed for bedwetting, and I don't even remember if I woke up wet or not when on that vacation trip. One thing. I do remember when I was about 3-1/2 or 4 and diapered for bed getting excited that I was wearing diapers and plastic pants. I mean, really excited! I kept pulling the front of my pajama bottoms away so I could look down inside at my thick cloth diapers and plastic pants. I'm sure that was the very start of me becomming a DL. Oh, and after I turned 6 and was out of night diapers, I never faked any bedwetting accident to get put back in diapers like some kids have done. I did have a few real bedwetting accidents over the years, but they were very very few. Link to comment
babymaggie
I remember my mother bragging that my brother and I were dry through the night before we were 2 years old. At age 8 after having been stalked and almost kidnapped, having to look at mug shots of the very creepy old man that was a convicted child sex offender, I began having nightmares and wetting the bed again. My parents did not understand how tramatic the situation was and told me everything was fine and nothing happened when I got home from school that day. I still have major stanger anxiety and trust isssues with people. As I began to wet the bed again I was so scared of getting into trouble for it that I became very sneaking in order to hide it from my parents. I have never really stopped wetting the bed although when I was around 16 I was able to wake up and have some control. I can't go to bed now without a diaper or else I would wake up to wet sheets. 1 Link to comment

FretaBWet
I was 16 when I stopped. My mother borrowed a wetting alarm from a friends mother because his sister was a bedwetter and it "cured" her. I'm pretty sure I would have never stopped otherwise but I'm also sure I'd still be sleeping through the night and not getting up once or twice every night. Hugs, Freta Link to comment
abbear
I think I was 15 when I stopped. We moved to a new house and I got a new bed so I guess it was a good thing I stopped. I do remember thinking how nice it would have been to be in diapers instead of waking up wet every night. I think my Mom would have done that but my Dad always said it was because I was lazy. I know that wasn't the case because I never knew when I wet until after I woke up soaked. I still have the occasional accident and always have so I just sleep with a diaper on at night all the time now. Link to comment

Craisler
I needed diapers both day and night until I was about 7 1/2 years old. I finally gained daytime bladder control during the summer before starting the second grade. However, the bedwetting continued for another six months or so. I stopped needing diapers at night when I was about 8 years old. By that time, I was mostly able to stay dry at night or would wake up to go to the bathroom. There were still occasional nighttime accidents over the next couple of years, though. Link to comment

bedwetter bobby
I was 8-9 when I stopped wetting my bed. I had been trained until I turned 5 and my parents divorced. For some reason this triggered nightly enuresis. It was not too long before I found myself back in night diapers and plastic pants . Looking back I can understand my moms reaction. She had all she could do to survive, working two jobs and being heart broken. Our washing machine was an old wringer type and the dryer was a clothes line. I can't imagine washing sheets, blankets, pajamas, and underwear every day with this equipment. Neither one of us was thirlled that I was back in diapers but I know it saved her a lot of work. That was her plea to get me to wear them. Was always curious as to how many other wore diapers for bedwetting back in the 50's,seems it was not too common. Link to comment
battlemage
I was first dry at night quite young, young enough that I don't even remember having any problems. When I was about 11 it started up again, however, and lasted until I was about 18. After that I was dry for a few months, but then it started happening again once or twice per week after that. huntercd76
I officially stop when I was 13 or 14, but there have been time when I wet the bed. Once was during Boot Camp and then I wet a few times, while I was overseas. I just don't wake up to pee. Link to comment
Maurepas
I still wet the bed, I've always wet the bed. I don't mind though, and neither does my bride to be, so, Link to comment
