The Look The Cashier Gives You.

Recommended Posts

I've purchased so many times that encounters with the cashier are 'non event'. Then yesterday happened...

I went to my local supply store, as I've walked in and requested my particular order the lady immediately looked me over and said: "Hi Brad, how are you?" - it took me a moment to realise and recognise this person as someone I'd regularly socialised with in my earlier years tenpin bowling.

Now, luckily this lady no longer bowls nor does she keep in contact with my family or friends... BUT, none the less her presence threw me for a six.

I turned the conversation back to current events, what I'm doing etc and the encounter was pleasant enough.

So that now tallies two people who I know socially who I've encountered at various supply stores... Jeez!!

The "look" in Asian shops when you buy adult diapers is a lot more clear. I once even had a woman saying to me 'no this not for baby' to which I had to reply 'I know'. One time the shop keeper just burst out laughing and I went to another shop in disgust.

I've been a cashier in the past. I will just start off by saying, no two people are exactly alike so when it comes to a transaction of certain product. Whether it's diapers, laxatives, condoms, douches, enamas, or whatever typically embarrassing type of purchase, there are different reactions from both sides of the register. I've rung up all those items and some play it cool as if it's a pack of gum, others are as red as a hydrant, fidgeting like a addict, chatting up a storm, sweating bullets, and or pacing a hole through the floor. On the flip side, I've seen cashiers more embarrassed to handle such products then the one buying them. Either way, I think all people have their quirks and people act differently in embarrassing or nervous situations. Some cashiers might giggle but it's out of a nervous habit and not actually any intended disrespect. I've witnessed several cashiers grinning ear to ear when a person came in to buy condoms and after the purchase tell the customer to "have a great night!" All in good fun if the person was cool about it.

Us cashiers after a transaction may mention it to someone if it was a really awkward situation or something and I recall talking to a few cashiers about adult diaper purchases all of which were younger females and they all had the same attitude, they felt bad for the person and even if they felt embarrassed and the person buying them did, it was all handled as professional as possible. No one ever, ever mentioned anything along the lines of fetish, ab/dl or what a freak. I think many of us worry waaaaay, too much about coming up with a backstory for a cashier and wondering what they'll think, say, do, etc. Until you make the purchase, you won't know because everyone will treat it a little differently.

I personally have bought adult diapers at a cvs, Walgreens, and a couple mom and pop shops. Beleive me, I racked my brain on everything before making the purchase. Eventually I realized, it wasn't a big deal but until you experience that for yourself, you'll never know. One of the last times I bought in a retail setting was about 6 years ago at a cvs. I saw an awesome clearance deal, was with my girlfriend and scooped up three bags of diapers. I wasn't even there for them but walked across them and to be honest, having no prep time to think about it and spur of the moment decision made the purchase 1,000 times easier even though i was in my home town. Just grabbed them, brought them to the front, rung em up and out the door.

For me now though, I pretty much won't buy in a retail setting simply due to the fact, the retail store diapers aren't that good at almost any price (been 24/7 for over a year now btw) and even though I'm comfortable buying them now from a cashier, the only hiccup is the possibility of explaining to someone I know who sees me as no one I know, knows. Just not worth it for me.

I used to be really nervous when I first started buying diapers, I knew little about online shopping then, and had no way to make online payments, so I was stuck with Wal-Mart etc... I would go to the store early, walk by the tills looking for someone old or from another country, go get the diapers, and return to previously sought out cashier... Lately I've tended to not care who rang me through, and have been looking more for pretty younger girls at the cashier just for kicks lol, we recently got a target store in my town and a girl I knew from a gas station works there... I may have to go there next time I'm looking! It's not like we have friends in common or anything like that.. I just happened to work at an auto dealer and we bought gas there lol, could be interesting haha!

I was once buying Depends Refastenable underwear when they first came out and she said rudely to me "And what are these?" and I said I was getting them for someone and then she said she was waiting in someone else. I went to the next counter and it was a young guy this time and he was very friendly and asked me if I would like it in a paper sack. I should have told the rude bitch "What do you think?"

Have you tried using your local fedex distribution facility as the "delivery" address. I had done this before when I couldn't have packages delivered to my apartment (they always left them there and the boxes would get stolen). Just leave them "driver" instructions to hold the package and call you when it arrives.

I've also been on the other side of the counter. I worked for a few years in a pharmacy. I've wrung it all up (including adult diapers) and strange combinations of personal items. Like yourself, I always played it like they were buying a pack of gum. A warm smile and have a nice day.

I've had some interesting encounters. I used to be so nervous about buying, it would take me almost an hour to actually pick up the diapers and bring them up to pay. But one time when I was in my teens I went to CVS for Depends. I don't know what got into me but I saw a cute girl working the counter and went up and asked her for "diapers that would fit me". She she squinted her eyes thinking and said "you could try aisle (blank), they may have them". When I came up with them to pay she said "find want you needed?". She handled it very professionally. I couldn't believe I actually asked her that, but it was a ton of fun and very exciting.

The first (or second) time I bought diapers, I was with my boyfriend, and we actually were buying him some goodnights. I was still very new to this, it was about 3 years ago.

I was so nervous. We joked around a bit, but didn't actually think the cashier would look at us funny or say anything. (It's easier buying goodnights than it is buying adult diapers, I've learned.)

I shopped there a lot though, and saw it was a cashier who always talked to me, so I knew she might say something afterall.

Then she did!!

I remember when I used to go to the local Zellers store, I would buy all my Baby stuff there and purposely go to a checkout with an older woman thee, so I wouldn't get "The Look", I wasn't looking at who was serving me, I looked up and saw a girl who was about two or three years older than me from school. She looked at me and asked if my soothers were for me. I blushed and shook my head no. About three months later, I started working there. Embarrassing !! lol

The first time i tried to buy tena slips they didn't have any and i had women coming up and asking me what i was looking for, i was that embarrassed i said they were for my gf and she wants the tena slips, they were then walking around a crowded shop saying this young lad is after the adult nappies, i couldn't help but go red. Second time i went and got them from boots and got my gf to pay for them!

I was at a local grocery store the other week and as I was getting ready to check out in the liquor dept. I stopped to fill out an entry form for a weber grill that some vender was giving away. The cashier was directly behind me maybe 10 feet away straightning some bottles on the shelf and she asked me if I was ready to check out I was bending over to fill out this form and my shirt had riden up exposing a good 2 to 3 inches of my diaper in the back ( I didn't know at the time ) I know she saw it. I replied that I was and went to do so. the whole time I was checking out she was staring at my diaper area I caught her looking several times and now whenever I go there and she is working she always looks to see.. She has never said anything but

That's being way to curious, maybe she's apart of our community?

That may well be the case, but i'm not going to say anything either way.

I think you should say something, maybe to the effect of "see something ya like?" "keep staring, ill have to charge admission" "if you think this looks interesting you should see me when im nekkid!"
