If a book all about the infantilist/AB/DL community came out, would you buy it or read it?

It's always nice to see what else is going on in your community, that's why they have the news.

It would be nice to know what others are writing about something I like to do, not that I always care what they are saying. I would read it, and if I like it, Great! If I don't like it, no big deal.

I put read it, but now that I've thought about it for 30 seconds:

Of course I'd have to buy it to read it; I doubt the libraries here are going to pick up that one. So unless someone else buys it and loans it out to me, I'm sure I'd have to buy it.

It would also depend on the angle of the book. If the author treats the ABDL community as circus freaks, I'm not really interested. I'd go more for an intelligent treatment of people who incorporate diaper play into the rest of their lives, and some interviews demonstrating the diversity of the community. Yeah.

why would i wanna buy a book about what i do...i do it i don't need to read about what i do :whistling:

I'll second that.... Even though I'm a DL not an AB, a book for the general public probably wouldn't tell me any more about AB's than what I already know.

Actually, I have published two novels on the subject of infantilism. (Yes, people are buying and reading them!) There aren't a lot of books on the market that deal with infantilism. The only other book I've seen that deals with the topic is called Bingo Under the Crucifix by Laurie Foos. (Available in some libraries in our area)

My two novels are: Alter Ego and Bikini Twist. Both are available at Lulu.com as paperbacks or e-books that can be downloaded very inexpensively. To see a preview or to purchase them, you must register with Lulu (free registration) and set your access level to "adult." The books are in no way pornographic, but infantilism is considered an adult topic.

There are many ABDL books available on Amazon, most are kindle/ e-books, but some are also available in print format, usually as paper back books.  I have several available on Amazon. (If anyone's curious, there's a link to my amazon page in my signature).

Perhaps OP means a more traditionally published book? One not self-published through Amazon etc?

As for buying/reading an ABDL book- for me it would depend. If the book (plot etc) appeals to me, then yes I'd buy and read it.

I'm curious as to how the AB/DL community would view a book all about the lifestyle. I think it'd make for interesting reading, personally, but would like to see what everyone else thinks. :thumbsup:

@Baby D

I would definitely read such a book. There are so many different people that write different books common They have different opinions. my problem is is that there are so many people that write books that might be that might be taken in a bad light against the community, and those are the books that you have to be careful of. sure there's gonna be people that question our lifestyle, and what we do and why we do it. have no problem with someone asking questions or trying to understand what we do or why. it's the type of people who think that our lifestyle is somehow abhorrent or some other word to describe the ridiculousness of what they think when they, when they don't understand why we do it.

We do things the way we do it for legitimate reasons, and each person that is in here, or becomes a member here is a member because of a particular reason. it is not up to me as a member to decide why somebody wants to do something or to decide the legitimacy of what they're doing and why. The deal is is that there are people out there that will take something that we believe is legitimate and they will turn something against us and then make a big problem over it, And that is the issue that I have. If people don't understand it it's one thing, if they don't tolerate it it's another. I can understand that there are people that might not understand and I might not agree with everything someone says, and that is OK, but for somebody to just totally be intolerant of someone else's lifestyle, that goes across the line as far as I'm concerned. we already do not advocate that our lifestyle involve children or minors.  I agree with that sentiment and I support it. There's no reason that anyone should be subjected to our lifestyle if They are not adults and they do not do not wish to be exposed to it.

I can understand why people might not understand our lifestyle, but for someone to be totally intolerant of it, to the point where they want to just throw us under the bus is something that is to me ridiculous. there are a lot of different things that people do in life, I might not agree with it and I might not be in a position to accept it, But the thing about me is that I am open minded, and I would probably be accepting of many situations, if they made sense to me. as I said miners involved in our kink is something that I would not accept nor would I tolerate, because that is one part of the population that we need to protect from lifestyles like this.

@Cute_Kitten

I have also taken the liberty to read many of your books as well. your books are well written, the stories are are awesome, and they always seem to have good flow. there are many books out there that tell stories, and they also can be informative books as well. What I like about a story, is a story that will allow The reader, that's me in this case, too actually become a part of the story. If a story is written well, And most of them are, then a reader can basically become a part of the story itself, can be a part of the environment around them, so if someone says that they're cooking chicken, are there cooking a ham, are there doing something else, the person can be attracted to the story because they can use their senses to actually smell that ham or that chicken or whatever is cooking, or to be able to be a part of the world around them in the story itself.

I don't think I would ever become an author per se, because there is so many things that you would have to do to be to be one. Of a story that you want to be able to get out there. If you're using the conventional ways, you would end up writing a story, you would send it to an editor, the editor would end up editing it for you, you'd have a bunch of conferences with an editor, And then once you get the book the way you want it it goes to the publisher, and then the publisher makes decision whether the book is published. There also may be conferences with a publisher before the publisher publishes your work and send you a copy of the book that you work so hard to publish. Nowadays, there is no brick and mortar way to do this, or at least I don't think so, And because of the way electronic publishing works, you can write a story, and then publish it on Amazon And then people will be able to have your book. I've even had a teacher I used to have, that wrote a book I believe about his experiences as a kid, And I believe he published it on Amazon as well. amazon is a very good place to be able to get books, and there might be others that are out there, and other people may also have opinions that say Amazon is not as good as other people think, But the thing is we have the ability to write books, edit them and publish them quite easily, as opposed to the olden days when you wouldn't have the ability to publish your books as quickly. Electronic publishing of many things can be a godsend, but books and other art forms can be plagiarized as well, and that is where you have to be careful. A lot of people put in a lot of time to be able to make the stories in books that we see on Amazon or other publishing sources, And the thing is each one has taken the time and put in their own blood sweat and tears into their own work of Art, whether it be a book, whether it be a painting, whether it be a song, whether it be a poem, or whatever it is, they worked hard for it and they put it out there so other people can enjoy it, and the one thing we have to be careful of is people that would plagiarize someone else's work.

I remember one time we had a discussion in school about plagiarism and its effects. I remember when somebody used to say that we shouldn't copy anybody else's work. I support this because if someone is writing something, and they have their own opinions or their own views on something, then that is what they believe. However, you should not take someone else's work and then and then say that it's your own, because you want to try to get credit for it. People that plagiarize also end up causing trouble for those that make these these stories and books and things like that, and hopefully there are for those that try to do this.

I'll have to say this: I have read many stories on many sites, and as far as I'm concerned daily diapers the site that has the best stories around! the site that we don't talk about around here, I used to go there, and I can tell you that that site doesn't even hold a candle to daily diapers, and the authors know exactly what they're doing, and they can literally draw you directly into the story itself, and make you apart of their world, And if they can do that then they have hooked me like a fish on  10 pound test fishing line!

so I'd like to say this as well: I wanna thank every single author that spends the time that they do to make the stories they do, to publish the books that they do Electronically, and also to those who allow you to to get their books for free to no cost, so you can take a look at some of the things that they things that they've written comments see how they do. i've even paid for several stories that several authors have made, And that is because I'm drawn right into it, and I can be that character or I can feel what that character's doing are saying or believing. when you get sucked into a story that's really good, you are in another dimension, and I can tell you that it almost feels as real as me standing in front of somebody in real time, and it really makes one heck of a difference. we have the best authors on the Internet, in my opinion and they're right here, because they take the time to write awesome stories, and they always do their best, and I thank everyone of them, because without authors like this, we wouldn't have stories on daily diapers to read, regardless of whether it's in the indexes, it's in the forums, or it's on Amazon because people decide put their workout there for people to enjoy.

I continued to hope that we will continue to have that happen, because we need to Stories. authors do that because they feel that it is a good thing for them. They give of their time and their experience, and they do it because they love what they do. they put out their forms so we can enjoy it, so we need to make sure that we're respecting the authors that are making these wonderful books, lest we end up in a situation where they may not publish them here any more. I can tell you right now that I'm glad that we do have people like this, And I know that there are people who enjoy it as well.

Ohh I almost forgot! for the survey I said that if there was a book about the ABDL lifestyle, would I buy it or read it! I said that I would buy and I would read it, because if a book is that good, it begins to be something that can be useful. I can't say how many times I've gotten a good book from a good author, and that allows me to understand what it is that I'm dealing with. If it wasn't for certain books that were written by certain authors, I would not have understand of what is going on, why people think the way they think or feel the way they feel or why they like what they like. it gives me a broader understanding of the lifestyle itself, because it it breaks it down, and makes it something I can understand and I can accept. when I first started, I was searching like hungry lion or something, trying to figure out what what's going on or why I felt the way I felt, and I was trying to get an idea as to why things are like they are, why people would accept such a thing, why they would be in a lifestyle such as this. The books I have read tell me tell me that it's OKAY to be who I am, and they tell me that there are people that are just like me, and they are as different as cars or trucks can be. we have a very diverse community, with a lot of very interesting opinions, and each book that is written that has a particular place in our community has a particular reason for being in existence.

without books like this, I would not be where I am today, I would not understand what it is I'm dealing with or why I'm dealing with it. I would not be the guy I AM today, And I would not be in a position to be able to help others that are dealing with their own thoughts their own feelings and their own demons as they journey forward. I can tell you from experience that it was hard for me when I was when I was younger, because I thought there was something amiss with me, as most people that feel the way I felt, would probably think there's something different, but they couldn't put their finger on it, they didn't understand it, but they dealt with it. they ended up putting it in a position where it was one of the things they would lock up in their memory banks, and they would deal with it, but they wouldn't disclose it period Now that I understand what I'm dealing with, I can help people understand that what they're dealing with is normal, and and you also have to add the caveat that whatever you're dealing with, it's important to understand that while we feel the way we feel, and we enjoy the lifestyle, we have to be careful that we don't expose people that do not want to be a part of it to it. However, because of books like this, I have a better understanding of what I'm dealing with, and I can also help people understand what I couldn't understand because, because well,, if you can't understand it, you can't accept it, and once you understand it, you can accept it. me, i've accepted it, it's a part of who I am and what I am, and I wouldn't change it for $1,000,000!

however I must warn you All that there are some books and some authors out there, that would put her put our community in a bad light, as has happened in the past, because of people like Matt Walsh and other people that put us down because they don't think what we're doing is proper moral or whatever, they think that they can trash us and make us look bad because they feel like we're part of the problem, and not part of the solution. people like Matt Walsh are the problem, and since they don't believe that we need the ability to live our lives without having people putting us down, they are the problem. They have differing opinions, and I accept that, they may disagree with my opinions, and I accept that, but to put the whole community in a bad light, that is where I have to be drawing the line. everybody has the right to live their life in an appropriate manner, and it's more important than ever in our lifestyle that we do it in an appropriate manner at the appropriate time, so we don't bring people in to our lifestyle that don't want to be exposed. People like Matt Walsh make it look like we're all aliens in space, and we don't have a place to fit in anywhere. That is wrong, books that I have read, Most of them electronic, have given me the information I need to solidify my stance, that being who I am and what I am is OK, and it's OK for everybody else too that wants to be the way they do.

I did buy one book, "There's a Baby In My Bed" by Rosalie Bent, although I have to confess to not having read very much of it yet. I intend to, though - it's just hard to read it during the time when I'm mostly likely to be reading a book, which is typically in my bed, beside my wife, in the latter hours of the evening. Which might sound funny, because typically, I'll be dressed in a diaper and a t-shirt, but, until I know what's in it, I don't want her to see it and decide that she should read it, too. Maybe I'll lend it to her, depending on how I react to its contents.

But, generally speaking, if a book were well reviewed and cogently written, I would probably give it a whirl. I'd want to hear from someone I trust, or from multiple sources, that's it's not junk, prior to buying, though.
