Bettypooh
Agreed with both of the last two posts. Pull-ups work for me because I usually have enough control to wear them and they are enough to save me if that control disappears, which it sometimes does "Maximum Absorbency" is a laugh as we all know (except for Depends who can't understand how poor their products are at this) I have some coupons for the "Real Fit" which I'll probably use for the reasons DD stated. These are the minimum I can use with no safety margin but many day's that is enough. And I like the discretion should there be accidental exposure But sadly, the "Silhouette" doesn't have the capacity I need for a safety margin and as much as I'd love to use them I dare not If they'd improve them (the real meaning of the word and not the way Depends uses the word) they they've got another loyal customer for that product Till then I'll keep on using their regular pull-ups which have proven to be perfect for my needs when I don't want to wear a 'real diaper' Bettypooh Link to comment
DiaperPony
I've checked around. Depend max / tabs definitely seems to be gone now. Has there been any word from Depend themselves regarding them being discontinued though? Losing Walgreens and CVS seems to me like it'd have to be a huge blow. Link to comment
Honeywell6180
I went into chat with Kimberly Clark, on their Depend site. The representative told me that they will still be making the Depend Protection with Tabs. This means that they will still be available, but most likely will have to be ordered online. Same goes with the "refastenable underwear". We had a little discussion about the Depend New Fit, and we talked a little about overall body shape, and how these are designed. He went on to tell me that I should not risk using the Depend New Fit if Goodnites hold more, which they do. So if I buy an adult pullup, it's back to square one. I finally made the suggestion that they do something about standing leak barriers and a longer padding, in hopes that maybe they could make some sort of hybrid product that could work for both adults and juveniles. I was then told that Depend won't copy anything after the children's products, because their customers don't want something that's "for babies". These people will be in for a very rude awakening when they go to a care facility. No Depend "underwear", no pad, no pullup, no sugar coating it. Nurses don't call them "briefs" either. DiaperPony
Thanks for asking! I happened to stop by a K-Mart today, and decided to check. Sure enough they had them in stock! I asked the managerial staff (two of them happened to be in the pharmacy area) if they were planning to continue stocking them, whether they were discontinued etc, and they said they were still able to get them and had no plans to stop stocking them. So, if you have a K-Mart, you might still be able to get them locally. 1 Link to comment
Bettypooh
My local WalMart still has them, but I haven't looked deeper. The mentioned chain pharmacies cannot compare in buying power and have a different market segment in mind so with any luck WalMart will continue to have them awhile. Since they are nearly alone in retailing them now it would seem that they will sell more now that the other options are declining Bettypooh Link to comment
puffybedwetter
Spent 3+ hours looking for Max Taped diapers :'( Went to CVS, Walgreens, Wal marts, and Target, best I could find were the S/M ones. but I'm right in between sizes after eating a donut this morning! regardless depend will be receiving an angry email later on. Dont know why some people dont like them, the most comfortable gatherers and leak guards not to mention the waist bands. time to sing Don know what ya got till its gone! now :'( Link to comment
KrisNdiapers
I just purchased a box of the Real Fit, I got them for daytime wear. I have had problems with bad gas, and assplosions while at work. I am not incontinant, I am AB/DL. I really like these and they are my new underwear for at work. They fit and feel just like real underwear, and dont feel like a diaper at all. I tested peeing in them and they hold all of one normal wetting (not holding it for an hour). I am only wearing them so I dont dirty normal underwear, and to prevent chaffing. So far they are doing what I needed them to do. Link to comment
puffybedwetter
The new fits padding end around the gooch area so those wont be able to contain an assploision! Lol on the bright side I scored today, went to a walgreens in the inner city, they had four bags of refular diapers so i bought one then looked at the receipt, they were 8 bucks so I went back for the other two. 2sail2
They're very comfy, but feel very warm and hot to me. I may try cutting the sides some for ventilation. Link to comment
chad334
The depends max protection briefs aren't a great diaper. But are okay. They don't hold much before leaking and sometimes you gotta put some packing tape around the diaper otherwise the tapes will pop off. Link to comment
Nappied Dan
We can get the Briefs here and in Super Plus absorbency. For years Depend here were terrible and aside from the higher absorbency pull up which is not too bad I would have never purchased any of their products. The briefs in super plus absorbency though were available in a local pharmacy and being that they were easy to get hold of I purchased a package to try. I was really impressed with the quality. They have made vast improvements over the years in these. The tapes work well and the plastic backing is a good quality. The padding is not that thick initally but it has a lot of the material that expands when wet. The brief is comfortable even when it is wet and holds nearly as much as Abriform or other higher end diapers. They are not very cheap though and for that reason I dont often buy them - for the same money I can get other ones I prefer to use. Though I am pleased that they are now making a good quality product and being that they are Depend most pharmacies are able to order them in easily if they dont hold them in stock. Most pharmacies here dont hold much in stock - it is usually only Tena pads and some depend products - if you want briefs you need to order them in or go to a more specialist pharmacy or store. babyforyou
I love how the depend diapers look they look like 90s baby diapers in the pack must have something with the plastic they use. But they are to thin and hold next to nothing so I don't use them. For my diapers I use ABU and Bambino brand Diapers I do use depend for my pull ups as they are good I just wish depend pull ups had stand up leak guards. diaperedcoach
well as i take a binge in to my fetish that we all so love..... i have run off and bought 5 packages of Dends Maximum Absorbency....I have tried different brands of my years of being in love with diapers i would have to agree with alot that was posted about depends Maximum Absorbency, as some who likes to wear a diaper time and time again these are ok for satifiaction of having a diaper on. and is some what sad to know that they my be going away for the easy shoping trip to pick them up, but i am not incontient and i do not have to wear for protection. So the leaking is not a issue that would be if i had to wear 24/7.. as they do not hold up and leak very offen when useing them.... but every product has its pros and cons depending on the side of the fence that you are one. i guess ill have to save a package of them an sell tehm on ebay when the truely stop makeing them........ diaperedandloveit
I don't know why everyone keeps putting these down as bad diapers.(Depend Maximum Protection) 2 Link to comment
thickdiaperedbaby
I agree. Back in the day when Attends and Depends were both readily available, and in major competition with one another in retail stores, Attends were the clear winner. Now, ever since Attends changed manufacturers and exited the retail market, Depends are the clear diaper winner in stores. I am disheartened to see the Maximum Protection (plastic) Depends slowly seep out of the market and become hard-to-find. They have become my go-to-diaper when I run out of diapers on a trip domestically. While I usually have to triple up the Depends during the day, it is nice to have a plastic-backed diaper available to buy. And, in my opinion, the Depends of today are actually better than the Depends of, say, 10-15 years ago, unlike Attends and of course baby diapers. Link to comment
babyforyou
Depends made today are better then depends made a few years ago. But that are not better then depends made 15 years ago Link to comment
Bettypooh
Many who think highly of Depends simply haven't tried anything better, so I don't bash them over that If all you want is a plastic-backed diaper for short-term wearing or one that you are not going to use heavily, they're fine- just know that there are better diapers available if you want them A WHOLE lot better. No Depends product has lasted me more than 6 hours if I always used it, even on my driest days; yet all of the premium brands I recently tried went 8+ hours very easily with me trying my best to soak them as much and as fast as I could To each their own, wear what you wish to- just enjoy and be happy in wearing diapers Link to comment
gah!ghost
The first diaper I ever wore as an adult was Molicare's Super Plus. The second, several years later, was Abena's X-Plus. Since then I have tried a lot of different brands and I have to say, I rather like the tape on Depends. For me fit and comfort is the most important thing and while I do like some thickness and functionality in the diapers I wear I still value fit and comfort and also like to have variety. Abena's whole tape-on line, Molicare Super Plus, Eurobrief, Tena Maxi-Slip, and oddly Depends Max Protect are the ones I like best in terms of comfort. Bambinos and Dry 24/7 are crazy uncomfortable for me on the other end of thing. The same is also true of the Attends 6-tape as well so it doesn't seem to have a lot to do with thickness or quality. mtnippy1
I used a Depends Silhouette tonight, and they leaked after one serious use. Link to comment
Bettypooh
I tried the "Silhouette" early on, and the cover leaked through the cover fabric quickly That could have been a batch issue- I only tried them that once. The "Real Fit" is nearly the same except that it didn't leak like this- the cover is reliable with them. These are both intended for lighter usage, but they are probably the most comfortable and definitely the most discreet diapers on the market Were they cheaper I'd switch to them for my daily work-wear. If the "Silhouette" were made in another color and didn't have the cover issues I experienced, they would be my ideal daywear and I'd pay the price difference happily Are you listening Kimberly-Clark? astrodiaper
I get the Depends Max usually because I can get those at Wal-Mart. However,as Betty-Pooh pointed out, there are better products, if you can get them. They work for what I need, and actually seem to keep it together better than Attends. As for the Real-Fit, I like the way they look and feel, thus my go to for going out in public. However, if you plan on wearing them for more than a few hours, they're not for you. They also leak easily and are more for light duty. Not good for #2 either. Thankfully, I was at least in my apartment when I let go. (Not exactly on purpose.) Link to comment
roxas09
my fiancée and I tried the depends brand, several actually, and weren't very impressed with the product. most of them were bad diapers in general, and they leaked all the time. avoid these if you can. Link to comment
Bettypooh
Depends aren't bad, but they are at the bottom absorbency level among them all. You're not paying Molicare, Bambino, or Abena prices with Depends so it's not like there is a direct comparison available For what they do, they do well enough that I wear them every day to work where they let me live a more or less normal life And they are the last plastic-backed diaper widely available at retail even if some major retailers are dropping those Link to comment
puffybedwetter
^ I agree the fitted briefs are really comfortable. Id only wish they would make an actual overnight version with padding up to the belly button andaand actual super absorbency. Link to comment
