What'S Your Diagnosis?

Recommended Posts

After an accident while in the military over 25 years ago that resulted in incontinence that continued to worsen and after many tests were run, I was finally diagnosed me with a chronic neurogenic bladder with related mixed urinary incontinence as the result of diabetes insipidus with polyuria and chronic bladder dilation

I have a very Rare Chronic Neurological Migraine Disorder that came on out of the blue in my mid 30's twenty years ago with tremendous head pain. It also left me with several side affects including balance issues and of course bladder and bowel incontinence. It also took the doctors several years to determine what was actually going on with me which left me completely frustrated and with no answered to why all of the sudden I was having to wear diapers and my life had completely changed like overnight. Finally they did figure out what was going on and I became more comfortable with wearing the diapers because I knew the actually reasoning behind it. A little later I started into the ABDL lifestyle which made me even happier and then down the road a little later I met a wonderful lady who is also disabled but for a totally different reason then myself who is now my mommy.

What's your mommy's disability, if you don't mind me asking???

That's okay buddy! I was just curious.??☺️❤️??

Thanks, I don't have any problem sharing about my diagnosis, but when it comes to other people I don't feel comfortable.

My bladder and bowel incontinence is caused by a ruptured L5-S1 in my lower back. I also have degenerative disc disease that is damaging a whole bunch of other discs throughout my spine and neck that are causing severe spinal pain.

I had tests when I was 8, the letter says I have a small (90-100ml) none retraining bladder and a hypermobile bowel. I have generalised issues with hypermoblity. The letter also suggested that with some “proactive parenting”continence should be able to be achieved.

I still am confused at the mixed information in the report.

I have gone to a couple of different urologist, and they have just found that my bladder muscle is weak, and that I have a very small bladder capacity.  The normally bladder capacity is 16-24 ounces, my capacity is around 3-5 ounces, and sometime I go pee and only get around 1 oz or less to come out.  These are the time when I feel like I need to go pee but very little will come out which is frustrating.

In regards to anything they can fix, not so far.

To add to the thread and maybe expound on some answers, just how does your diagnosis, whatever that may be, cause your specific issues?  For example, what is your diagnosis and does that make you dribble all the time, does your diagnosis mean suddenly you just release your bladder (or bowels) without any warning after an hour or two or within just a few minutes, do you suddenly get a strong urge to pee but you wet before you can do anything about it?  Do you wet small amounts every 10 minutes or so or does your bladder hold for a couple hours and then suddenly release?

Tell us your diagnosis again, but also how that diagnosis triggers your incontinence.

Hi,

I have OAB due to BPH. Also my bladder has hardened.

Welcome to the club... It's the same with me. For me it starts a couple of years ago - when the prostate was not so big and a damage in the GAG layer was diagnosed. In the meantime I was able to fix this problem, but the OAB-Wet problem is unfortunately still there. In the meantime the prostate has also grown and also my bladder wall is hardened. The Doctor thinks that this problem most likely comes from that.

As long as I can pee, I have decided to leave it as it is. Botox is not an option because of the risk of urinary retention and Interstim doesn't seem sustainable to me.... I guess at some point in the future a TUR-P will be necessary - I hope that will take a while....

Anyway the result is the same as yours. On the road nothing goes without diapers... If a toilet is nearby, fortunately still incontinence pads are enough.

I have been having issues with my back and numbness in leg.   This has been going on since sept 2021.  We have tried steroids, chiro, and pt with no relief and pain actuallly getting worse.   So 2 weeks ago I ended up in ER from the pain and they basically my gave me pain killers and said follow up with my doc.   What took me to the er was numbness along the entire left side from hip to foot and I was having issues with all of a sudden my bladder going from 0 to 1000 in like secs.  So the dr got me in to get mri which shows l4/l5 herniated disk, arthritis of the spine and a cyst sitting on the base of spinal cord which was the reason for bladder issues they think. So now I’m waiting on appt with spinal specialist to see what the next steps are.   Well fast forward to 5 days later and now I am losing the battle with my bladder when I sleep.  I took a nap and woke up wet so i talked to my wife and she said I think you may need some sort of protection.  I have been lurking here for years and new what protection I wanted   I have north shore mega max and better dry now and they are wet every morning and just about anytime I nap.  Never thought I would be wearing diapers at 46 and using a wheelchair.  I do hope it’s temporary but my wife is so supportive and could not ask for a better cheerleader through all of this .

I wet the bed pretty often up until i was 13 then stopped for a while till i was 19 and started wetting the bed every night so i went to my dr and they took blood and it turned out that i have type one diabetes and thats why i was wetting the bed again. i still wet the bed here and there, normally when my blood sugars are high(over 215mg/dL) during the day.
