Shaving For Guys

Recommended Posts

Hey! I was wondering how many guys shave their diaper area? whole body? I want to start shaving my diaper area and maybe my thighs right before my shorts stop. Does anyone have any recommendations? What about Nair or veet or is just a razor and shaving creme best? Has anyone tried a body shaver? Any tips or ideas would be great!!

Don't use Nair or any chemical on your privates. I have heard Magic powder is a good solution, but never tried it. good old razor works for me, use shaving gel, better lubricant than shaving cream.

I have been shaving my crotch for a little over a month now. I have been using a double edged safety razor and shaving soap with a alum block as a aftershave treatment. You definitely need some kind of powder to put on after to absorb sweat and keep your balls from sticking to your legs. I am using Anti Monkey Butt Powder, it does not have a strong scent and is made for going on crotches. The only time I have had a problem with itching and razor burn is when I have tried shaving against the grain. I have not tried shaving my but crack yet and don't think I will.

I shaved at the beginning of the month. I used trimmers to get it short. Then I used a Gillette Fusion with C&E Nomad shave soap and my silver tip badger hair brush. I've tried my super speed before, but I'm not comfortable getting a DE that close to my bits. The Fusion is almost dummy proof. I used Aqua Velva aftershave when I was all done. If you want to use a good shaving cream, try the CO Bigelow kind at Bath and Body Works. It is repackaged Proraso Italian Shaving Cream and is great stuff.

Best thing i can recommend about Veet and the likes is try it somewhere you wouldn't mind showing a doctor, hear WAY too many stories on FML that go a little like this "Today, I found out I am allergic to Nair, how? I used it on my bikini line for my boyfriend and was in the hospital for 10 hours, FML"

Something along those lines

One of the most bloodcurdling screams I ever heard was from a friend of mine trying to use Nair on his balls. Trust me, not a good idea. Use scissors to trim it down, then as others have suggested a Mach 3 or Fusion razor works well to take it the rest of the way. Be aware though that if you shave it, its an every few days commitment. If you don't shave there around as often as you shave your face, it will itch. Unbelievably. There is nothing in the world more uncomfy than that kind of itch at work.

I'm off and on- it's a mood thing  but it's always trimmed and neat ;) If you just have to try the chemical hair removers do a tiny spot (very tiny) and wait a few days before doing more, gradually increasing the scope to be sure it's OK. Don't let shaving scare you- it's actually very easy to do but always take your time- a nick here mixed with wet diapers is about as unpleasant as things get and takes a long time to heal- don't ask me how I know :crybaby: The first time might leave you raw so have a healing cream on hand just in case and be sure you've used it on raw skin before- some of it may not be compatible with your skin :o Though I dislike what I have down there, it's still there and nothing takes me back too my pre-puberty gender-free happiness any better than looking down and seeing the gender-free boy I once was :D At my age anything that takes me back to my youth and is this easy to do is well worth the effort

I used to have no problem using Nair or Neet when i was younger, now it seems my body won't tolerate it. They make special formula's for course hair which should work faster thus allowing less exposure to the chemical. As bad as it sounds..it's best to shoot the area with a cold rinse first to close off the skin pores and do EXACTLY what the bottle recommends as far as time and removal directions. When I could do it I had no discomfort. I would suggest taking a small amount and putting it behind your ear for the specified time, that is a very sensitive area of skin and if you have no problems there then you should be okay. If the first treatment doesn't work for you wait a couple of days and do it again, never leave it on longer than what the bottle says to do!

If however, you do notice a burning sensation rinse quite liberally with COLD water immediately, do not rub it away. If you have a Aloe gel apply it to the site. If not and you have toothpaste (not the new gel stuff) you can use instead, it will provide some relief from the burning pain and help neutralize the chemical.

As for razors and such. If you have a beard trimmer or what have you use that first, at minimum use scissors to shorten every thing up. . Then take a warm shower to soften the hair. While still in the shower step out of the stream and lather up. I would suggest using a regular razor with two blades not one with more as they tend to have the blades to close together and will foul up with the hair a lot faster. Once you have done it then upkeep with a multi-blade would be fine.

Just my past and present experience..take it for what it's worth. Everyone will have different result depending on your skin situation.

Shaving at first itches like hell. Then you get used to it but you have to keep it up. Unless you want to spend a long time itching. I actually found I sweat more when I shaved and smelled more from sweat. The only time I found it felt actually cleaner was when I wore often (don't get that opportunity anymore). Generally I actually found I felt "slimy" when I had shaved.

Results may vary. Try it but be prepared.

I use this women's brand of shaving cream....forget the name but it comes in a pink canister. Silky smooth...something. It's a product that turns your skin very smooth, which is what I want. hate body hair except for my head. I shave on a regular basis my testicles, my stomach and the rabbit trail, my butt and sometimes inside, my inner thighs as well as my entire legs. Shaving for me is unrelated to diaper wearing. I simply hate having hair it's nasty and gross. Also as some of yo know it's pretty awesome to pee n your diaper after being freshly shaven.

There simply is no way I can present myself to my girlfriend with stubble on my privates. I use the "normal skin" Veet (the 3 minute variety) with no problems whatsoever. Even keep it on for a bit longer. The box (in Dutch and friggin' Italian?!?!?) sez max 6 minutes. Do my balls and ass crack. Apparently I can tolerate the stuff well.

In my life, shaving came ahead of diapers - there's another shaving thread I posted on a day or two ago. I shave sac and shaft with a Fusion. Everything topside gets trimmed down with clippers using a #2. It wasn't as common in the younger days of "my" generation, but I think its definitely a cleaner look and feel. Never had a comment from the doc during the annual checkup, and my GP is female.

Funny sidebar on that one - one year my PSA's were different, not high but different, and my GP asked me to get a second opinion with a urologist. Before she made a referral, she asked if I would be uncomfortable with a female specialist. I told her, "Now's a heckuva time to ask!" (I did see another female because she was the best, and everything's fine.)

I did shave my legs for a few years when I was racing bicycles, a long time ago.

A total shave would feel a bit too prepubescent for me.

Good health to all here.

I get why in our community but do girls in general prefer a man be shaved or bald? I like a well groomed woman, but bald feels a tad wrong to me.(Stigma, not anything actually wrong)

Body hair for the most part is icky and unattractive. It's just.....nasty.

What has worked well for me is to shave after having a hot bath or shower. The hot water from the bath or steam from the shower will help to open the pores which allows for a much better shave. I normally use an electric razor with the beard trimmer to trim short the pubic hair and a regular razor to shave the penis and scrotum. I normally get a better shave doing this dry then applying a good hand lotion right afterwards. I have had no problem with getting rashes. The trick is to not go over an area with the razor more than twice to prevent irritation rashes. Like some others have said, do NOT use those nasty chemical removers on those parts.

Good luck

Oh....WTF? Shave the penis? I don't have hair on my penis. Are you talking abot the actual shaft? If so, I didn't know hair grew there.Just the testicles. Hmm.

Link to comment

Well I have foreskin and it does grow on the out side of it. I assume this isn't true for guys who have been "cut." Dam wrinkly scrotum, such a pain to get shaved cleanly there.

I keep my penis, scrotum and perineum area to the bum clean shaved. I normally do this every couple days.

I usually do this with a dry razor then apply a good lotion right after. I will typically when having a

shower shave these areas too but I find i do not get as close a shave this way as i always have some hairs

left on the sac.

Here in the UK I have used Veet for Men around my penis and scrotum with no problems in general apart from on one occasion so far. Normally I use a trimmer and cut the hair down fine and then shave with a razor, however you never really get that super smooth baby feeling you get when using a hair remover like Veet.

So one day I'd spent about 2 days in wet nappies and was having a shower in between changes when I decided I wanted to give myself the nice smooth hair removal treatment. So I dried myself off and went and put some Veet cream around my privates as I have on many other occasions. Only this time after about 30 seconds I started to feel a tingling around the bottom of my testicles and after about nearly 2 minutes it had started to feel quite sore. Knowing that this wasn't right, as it never normally felt like this, I quickly got in the shower and washed the cream off with cold water. After that I had sore balls for about 3-4 days. However it only "burnt" my balls on the very bottom where they had been in the most contact with the padding in my wet nappies over that past couple of days. The rest of where the cream went around my privates and balls was absolutely fine. So I can only conclude that the Veet cream had some how reacted with the urine that must have still been permeating the skin of my balls even after my shower.

So if you do decide to use a cream, make sure you're good and clean before you put in on. And of course if you've never tried it before, always follow the instructions and try a small spot on your thighs or some where like that and then afterwards wait 24 hours just to make sure you don't get a rash or sore spot.

When all's said and done hair removal cream is something I try not to use too often, and anything that melts the hair off your body should be treated with caution. But just once in a while when I really fancy having baby smooth hairless legs and privates just like a little boy again, then on the whole I've not found the odd application of hair remover not to be too bad (well apart from that one time of course).

I like my body to be smooth like a baby so anything in the diaper region I shave. My ballsack gets shaved completely, even in the area when I left the sack up underneath. I shave around the penis, and when it comes to the butt I shave both butt cheeks, my lower back region where the crack ends, and I get as far into my ass as possible when shaving. I typically have to use mirrors to get the krusty poop hair from out of the deep parts of my crack, and for the inner butt hair I use scissors instead of a razor because it's like a poophairy jungle up there and I have to trim the hair in large chunks. All this is great because after a fresh shave in mother's bathroom, and after I put on a fresh diaper I pee myself with a flood and it's pretty fantastic to feel the urine cascade down my shaft and into the diaper. And a fresh mess on a freshly shaven bum is next to godliness, what with the smooth squishyness.
